The best jump starter of the three I have owned!
THIS VECTOR 800 PEAK AMP JUMP STARTER WITH 120 PSI COMPRESSOR has serious jump starting power and many other features like integrated powder coated clamps and a reverse polarity alarm, a triple USB bank so that you can recharge multiple electronic devices at the same time, and I really like the “ screw on valve stem “ at the end of the compressor hose instead of the cheaper push on kind that by the time I get them off the valve stem I have lost a lot of the air I just put in the tire or volley ball, soccer ball, or ? It also has an attached LED WORK LIGHT to light up your work space. Over the years I have owned three or four jump starters and this one for me has the most usable features and because of its compact design it fits perfectly in the space that I have in my car. Over the years that I have had one of these devices in my car or van or? I have only needed to use them a few times, but let me tell you one time years ago was enough to convince me to never again be without one.

So-so
The Vector 800 Peak Amp Jump Starter with 120 PSI Compressor is a nice little emergency unit. It has most of the features you would expect in a portable jump starter. Th compressor is handy, as are the USB ports. I have not had a chance to test out the jump starting capability yet. Two things concern me about this unit. FIrst, there is no easy way to stow the charging cable onboard (120 VAC only). Second, it says to recharge every 30 day. Really? I want to put it in my car and forget it. Seriously, who is going to remember to recharge this item every month? I have had other jump starters that lasted several years between recharges, This seem like a little too "high maintenance" for me I could be handy when all else fails though.

Seems good but time will tell
I love older vehicles and often drive in somewhat remote areas. This is small enough and light enough that I carry it in whichever vehicle I am taking that day. The jumping power is adequate for anything I own and the built-in tire inflator could be a real godsend. I always carry tire sealant but this box means I can get more inflation when I need it. It has a small, permanently attached flashlight but it is very limited in power. At least in the dark you could see the battery terminals or tire valve. The jump cables are quite short at about 16" for working purposes. That will do most of the time but for some vehicles is may not. The USB charging ports could come in handy. Not long ago we had a power outage at home due to a storm and being able to keep the phone working would be priceless. I withheld one star only because there is no way to know how long the batteries in this unit will last. Had that problem before with other brand units. You keep them charged but eventually the battery fades. Time will tell.

Great multi-purpose charger/jump starter.
This Vector 700 Peak Amp Jump Starter is a great multi-purpose tool that can not only jump start your car when your battery fails, but can also be used to charge other devices as well. This 12 volt jump starter is rated 700 Peak Amps and is compatible with 4 and 6 cylinder autos as well as other small engine vehicles such as motorcycles, jet skis and other water craft. It can also be used as a secondary power unit or charging station for cell phones, tablets and other USB chargeable devices. It can also be used to provide power for devices that use car power via a car port (cigarette lighter port) such as a mobile TV etc. The jump starter is rechargeable by plugging in an extension cord (not supplied) to the back of the unit.

Seems to work pretty good
Vector 700 Peak Amp Jump Starter, One USB Charging Port, Rechargeable battery lead acid type. I charged this unit for 2 days and all I can get is two of the three LEDs on the charge status to light. I have used it to charge a phone and a flashlight which worked great. I jump started a tractor multiple times. Charged it from my truck using a cord I supplied into the 12 volt cigarette type plug which also worked fine. The fault I found is you need an extension cord to charge it from the wall as it has a built in charger that can't be plugged directly in to the wall. This jump box has worked well for me, seems pretty sturdy and will .as as long as you remember you need to maintain the battery.

Feature rich in a nice size
Vector 800 Peak Amp Jump Starter with 120 PSI Compressor The Vector jump start is a feature packed unit. It starts with the main use and that is jump starting you vehicle. The 800 peak amps should be more than enough power to start you car though I have not tested the starting power. Then there is what I feel could be an equally useful feature and that is the built in air compressor. It is advertised to build up to 120 pounds per square inch or air which will air any car. I have used this feature on may car and truck and it inflated both with no problem. The pressure gauge is hard to read so I over inflated and took my air gauge to deflate and get correct pressure. There are two more features that could be handy to have in certain conditions. There is a small adjustable spot light to allow you to see in the dark. Then there is three USB ports for charging cell phones or tablets. Over all this is a good unit with a great form factor making it easy to store in most cars without taking up a lot of room.

Pretty basic but reliable (so far). USB charging port is nice
Happy to have this in my truck. I've got jumper cables but they don't help much when there's no one around to jump you. I'd also rather jump someone with this than hooking up jumper cables. It's compact and has a nice rubber grip to make it more comfortable to carry. It's as simple as plugging it in to charge it. It arrived with a low charge. In about an hour it had reached medium. I left it charging and it hadn't reached full after about 3-4 hours. I left it plugged in and checked it about 7 hours later and it was full. Not too crazy about the cover over where the extension cord plugs in. Seems pretty crude and awkward. I have to play with it to get it to go back in place and I don't have a lot of confidence that it'll stay in. I'm hoping it holds it's charge. I'll check it periodically to be sure it's fully charged. Not much good without being charged. I like the USB port to charge my phone or whatever. It's pretty basic but it certainly serves it's purpose

Has the Amps to do the job.
I was preparing to bring my car in for its 6 month service when I discovered the battery had died. The car battery at rest was reading 9.6 volts and was not holding a charge....I connected the Vector as described in the manual, cranked the ignition for a few seconds and the car started right up! And then happily drove off to my mechanic for the service and a new battery.... I chose the Vector 800 Peak Amp Jump Starter because I wanted plenty of power as well as some extra features ..... I like that the Vector has an integrated 120 PSI air compressor, an LED worklight, three USB ports and is easily rechargeable in an hour or two. I'll be keeping this in my car and am happy with my initial experience.

Vector, Model # J321v
Vector, Model # J321V, is a portable and compact, 12-volt jump start unit that is used to jump start 4- and 6-cylinder automobiles. It also contains a handy 5-volt, 2.1-amp, USB port for charging/running cellphones and other small electronic devices, and a 12-volt, 5-amp, utility outlet to operate small electric items such as a portable tire compressor or spotlight, etc. I really like the heavy-duty impact-resistant polymer housing of the jump starter as well as the “Reverse Polarity Protection” that makes sure the alligator clamps are properly polarity connected and the charging/battery condition display LED (Light Emitting Diode) indicator panel, especially during a roadside jump start conditions. While I have not had the opportunity to jump start an automobile because I don’t have the situation that requires me to do so, while camping, I have used the USB port and 12-volt dc outlet without any problems which also is especially great to have and use during a power outage. I tested, using a volt multi-meter, on the powder covered spring alligator clamps and it showed a voltage of 12.88 volts dc right out of the box and after 24-hour charge is show a voltage of 13.9 volts dc. It should be noted that there are some product specification discrepancies between the Home Depot website page for this item and also the manufacturer’s Instruction Manual that came in the box with this item. Unfortunately, the Home Depot website page for this item also contains many positive and negative customer reviews for two other models of Vector jump starter units, ones that contain other features such an air compressor. The basic 700-amp jump starter unit does not have an air compressor and many different reviews are confusing. There are several inconsistencies in the manufacturer’s Instruction Manual, and they are: on page 4 of the Instruction Manual it said, “Do not to use this jump starter on watercraft. It is not qualified for marine applications”, but there is a major disconnect that exists since the item packaging shows an illustration of a “jet ski” watercraft and says, “Ideal for:”. The booklet says this is a 300-amp Jump Starter, but the unit label states it is a “700-amp peak” unit, again very confusing. On page 6 of the Instruction Manual, it refers to the unit as having “sealed lead-acid” battery whereas the unit packaging states, “AGM/Gel/Wet compatible” whereas the outer actual shipping box had two “Lithium- Ion” battery labels on it, again very confusing, which is it? On page 4 of the Instruction Manual, point #2 states, “Charge until the Battery Status LED indicator lights “solid” or “flashes”, which is it? The manufacturer’s customer reply comments on the Home Depot website said, “this unit will not start a dead battery and there must be at least 2 volts in the battery in order for this jump starter to work”. The Instruction Manual says nothing about either battery situation so therefore, the manufacturer should make some statement in the Instruction Manual about these two potential and important operating conditions. The unit is made in Vietnam and has a 1-year home use warranty as this unit is not designed for commercial use. The Vector jump starter has been tested for electrical safety by ETL Intertek and it carries their logo on the packaging and the unit itself. I would only say that I am disappointed, according to the manufacturer’s Instruction Manual, that I must recharge the jump starter’s internal battery every 30 days for the unit to properly jump start a 4-to 6-cyclinder automobile. Could it be that this charging time may be different if this unit has an internal Lithium-Ion battery instead of a Lead-Acid battery? Since I have not jump started an automobile with this unit, in my opinion, the jury is still out, as to whether or not this unit with effectively jump start an automobile. Otherwise, it seems to be a good unit for the USB and 12-volt dc power features.

Nice jump starter with extra features
I have not had a chance to use the main feature of this, a jump start, yet but my son has a little smaller one that works so I am trusting this will too. The air compressor works and works off the battery that can provide a jump start. That is good in the sense you don't have to plug into the car to use the compressor but it also means you can run the battery down with the compressor. So I will have to be careful. It is nice that the cables to connect this have wraps on the housing for storage. It took several hours to charge but has a nice green indicator to let you know when it is charged. Seems more thoughtfully designed than others I have seen.

A dependable battery charger...
Vector 700 Peak Amp Jump Starter is a handy piece of automotive equipment. I owned something similar by another manufacturer, could be its twin in design. Kept it in the car trunk and its handy during Winter days turning the engine. Something good to have around when the car battery's getting old to avoid a surprise traveling, or in the morning turning the engine over. It is rated at 700 peak amps recommended for four and six cylinder engines. The charger is well designed, rugged, from experience, a no nonsense charger. It can be used either optionally with battery clamps or from the car's cigarette lighter using a second receptacle on front of the unit. The cable for the car lighter is not provided. It's built with reverse connection protection that ensure the cables are correctly placed on the battery terminals. It's how I toasted an old charger, working fast, not paying attention, burned it up. The cables on this unit are sturdy, as good as any, not flimsy ones seen on others and the clamps are large, easy to attach. The cable length is a bit short, so make sure it's securely placed, before turning the engine. . An added plus, a USB 2 amp power connection to charge a cell phone, test equipment or anything else. Over the years had several battery starters, some brand names, and this design is the best. It is a no nonsense jump starter.

Great Appliance
I have an old car and don't drive much and am constantly dealing with a dead battery. No More! This Vector, Jump starter, Air compressor, Work light, and USB charger is tops. An 800 Amp battery starter, a 120 PSI air compressor which is good for inflating any ball or swimming pool, or in an emergency a flat tire. also a work light or emergency light to help with that flat tire when it's dark outside. And while on the road and needing your phone or tablet charged, this is the tool. Is that enough? I think so for one tool in the trunk of your car. If this won't fix it, you don't need it.

Portable Powerhouse
If you have ever been in a place where you forgot to turn off your dome light in your vehicle, or needed air in your tire to get to the mechanic for repairs, I recommend that you check into one of these to have on hand. For what one of these will save you on time waiting for a tow truck, or changing a tire, it will pay for itself in no time. It has a built-in air compressor, jumper cables, work light, and three USB charging ports all on board and easily operated. The battery jumper is as easy as hooking up the cables, turn to ON position, and crank your vehicle or machine. The air compressor has a Sure Fit connector installed, with about 18 inches of hose, and not to mention the easy to read pressure guage. So don’t be stranded and waiting for the tow truck, Very convenient powerhouse.

Must have.
This is a must-have for any homeowner. We have all had an instance some point in our lives that we had to jumpstart our car. Generally it is not in a large parking lot with plenty of space all around. It's usually when the car is in the driveway with other cars in front of it or it's in the garage. And those instances it's almost impossible to get jumper cables up to the front of the car to jump start it. With this jump pack you can just pop the hood, connect the cables and start your car. This particular pack has a lot of really nice features. It's got an indicator before you flip it to the jump mode, that lets you know it's connected properly or reverse. If you connect it in reverse and try to jump start the car you could cause an explosion or at the very least a huge Spark. This also has a 12 volt Outlet and a 2.1 amp USB outlet. The only drawback with this device is there is no cord included. It will connect to any standard extension cord. I would recommend this.

Peace of mind device
Peace of mind, preparedness, convenient, etc. These are just some of the words to describe this 3 in 1 portable power source. We actually still have a drive in theater 3 miles from my house. This little device is going to be a life saver whenever we go watch a movie. After the movie there are always a few vehicles with a run down battery. Now I can help get them back on the road as well as not fearing if my battery is dead. It is so easy to use, lightweight, and easy to store. The 12 volt dc power is a great addition to this device. It can be used to charge multiple devices. The charge indicator light takes the guessing out if this device is fully charged. This unit is very well put together. It’s a great addition for anyone wanting a little extra insurance while out and about.

Practical
This multi purpose rechargeable batter pack is very lightweight and serves so many purposes. Primarily it’s a emergency car starter with proper connection sequence lighting to assure your ready to use. A DC adapter for multiple applications like a usb charger for phones and tablets. And a usb a plug as well. All pull up to 5 amps on dc port and 2.5 amps on USB port. There is a AC connection on back to recharge battery on appliance. No power cord so you have to supply. Charge level lights for recharging and for checking power left in unit.

Just using it to inflate my car tires Loses charge fast. If you have to use it to jump start another car, it doesn't work anymore. You need to reload it to get it working again. It is a bit expensive for what it is useful

    Don't waste your money
Lower your expectations on this product. It does not work as expected. What is the point to buy this product if it will not start a vehicle with a battery voltage of less than 2% or a dead battery?.

I got this portable jump starter to keep in my wife's trunk for peace of mind. While she hasn't needed to use it yet (that's a good thing), I have been taking it out periodically this summer to test it in preparation for this review. I am really impressed with how long it held a charge without needing to be topped off. I suspect a lot of that has to do with the physical on/off switch this one has. Many units have soft power buttons, which means some charge is constantly being used to power the touchpad, but on this unit it has a big chunky physical on off switch which much kill the circuit when not in use so very little charge is lost. It's always a good idea to pull these out and charge them periodically but long standby is a big deal because life gets in the way and inevitably you will forget to charge things. I like the LED indicators on this, it's easy to tell where you stand and how it's operating. The USB ports won't be used much (if ever) by us, but I suppose it never hurts to have an emergency phone charger on hand with you - so I'll throw an extra USB cable in the trunk with this too. Another nice feature is the built in jumper cables. This really is an all-in-one ready to go unit. Just pull it out, set it on top of the battery, clip the cables on, and good to go. It's a nice little contingency plan, and I'm glad we have it!

Over all very good product, and something I will keep in the trunk of my car for emergency, much better then waiting for AAA or jump starting with / for a friend. It has always been my experience when jump starting cars the batteries of either car are not in a good location which makes it difficult to jump start with two cars and cables, sometimes I have even had to connect two sets of jumper cables together when we could not maneuver the cars into a good position. With this device, I can now simply bring this over to the target car and I if at night I have a good light to work with, wish I could move it around like on a goose neck. While the handle of this is on the side, I find that I want to place this on the table standing up, however the jumper cables prevent this and the light is now on the bottom. If this was to be placed in this orientation, the handle should be designed that way, something a good "Industrial Designer" would flag right away. The rubber over molding and design is good quality other then the handle and power cord. The compressor is incredibly loud sounds cheap, however it did do the jump, what was really nice about using it is I just set the pressure and leave it be, with the solid screw on connection I did not need to be concerned with it leaking. The pocket was nice to have as I tossed the pressure gauged and other accessories in it. The on / off switch for the jump starter feels really cheap, I hope it lasts. The biggest frustration I have with this is the lack of an included power cord and the way it connects to the device is less then desirable, I'd rather have a pocket or wrap the cord around the box then not have one at all. The way it connects is really bad, the cover gets in the way and not all extension cords are going to fit, the only two that styles that work for me are the ones that have a single end or one that has a two prong house hold style, I do not think the three ways or other styles will work very well. For the most part a good setup to have for emergencies.

This little jump pack is perfect to leave in your car or truck in case you or someone else needs a jump start and you don't like using jumper cables because this has reverse polarity protection and won't work if you put the cables on backwards. The cigar port can come in handy if you need to charge your cell phone in a emergency. The 700 amps is good enough to jump a four or six cylinder but could also jump a eight cylinder if the battery wasn't fully discharged. There is a charge port in the back that just uses a extension cord to charge the battery pack so theirs no need for a extra charging transformer to keep track of.

I have been using the Vector 800 peak amp jump starter box with a 120 psi compressor. It's a very versatile piece of equipment that I have gotten a lot of use from. It's great for using on a job site where there is no power for charging my phone or any other device that uses a usb port. The box has several useful components a bright led light that pivots. It's very portable. I used it to jump start my friends battery which had died and he was back up and running within minutes. I used the air compressor to blow up pool floats for my grand children. This is a very nice little power box I highly recommend it.

This Jump Starter / Power pack made by Vector has a 12v dc outlet, a USB power port along with Battery cable clamps to facilitate jump starting a dead car battery. It comes as a nice light weight package with cables approximately 14 inches in length, just long enough to sit alongside a car battery and clamp to for jump starting. It has a comfortable rubber over mold carry handle and charging plug under a cover on the backside that requires a standard extension cord. It has reverse polarity protection so you know if you hook up the cables backwards and a safety “on” switch. It is rated at 700 peak amps, meaning it should have no problem starting a dead battery in a 4 or 6 cylinder engine, although it performed well when used to jump start my small V8 Van battery that was dead as you can see in the video. It is approximately 10 inches wide by 11 inches tall.

What a great tool and piece of mind. Often I have worried about my wife’s vehicle battery especially upon seasonal weather changes. Not anymore. This unit deliveries that piece of mind for her as it does me. Even upon a breakdown you will have the capability to charge mobile devices for example. Powering air pumps for air mattresses upon a camping trip or water toys at the beach for another example will be no issue with the 12v power port. LED lights are clear identifiers for the multiple functions as well as the battery condition. The only knock would be the cables being to short and the on/off switch being loose. I definitely recommend this product!

The VECTOR 1200 AMP JUMP STARTER/PORTABLE POWER STATION WITH INVERTER is a "all in one" power pack that is a good option for keeping in the car or around the house for emergencies. It can be used to fill tires, footballs / basketballs etc. The inflation cord could be a bit longer as it may be difficult to reach a valve stem of a tire when located at the top. The LED light is bright enough for emergency task lighting, the jumper cords are a nice 27 inches long and produce 13 volts when fully charged. The 2 110 volt outlets are handy especially during a power outage they can be used to power a lamp and charge phones

This is a very handy item to have around the your garage or shop especially in the cold winter months. If you live in a cold climate like I do, this little jumper battery could make starting your vehicles very easy. This will help give that little extra boost to a cold car, truck or even a tractor needs. Since this unit can stay warm in the house or shop in the wintertime it has all of its capacity to help boost a cold vehicle. And most of the time that is all a car needs, just a bit of a boost to make starts quick and easy. No more slow starts this unit solves that. It can also boost a “morning surprise” low battery or dead battery condition, we have all had this happen. You run around looking for jumper cables or calling a friend to come over so won't be too late to work. This little unit eliminates that and a host of other battery related problems. This is a great little jumper battery that's easy to carry and easy to use. This little booster is easy to charge with small extension cord. Just flip open the rear black rubber plug cover and plug it into your extension cord so its ready to go next time. It also has a 2 amp USB charging port. This fast charges my most of my phones in less than 1 hour, and it also has a 12 volt, 5 amp standard round charging port for items that use this type of plug. This unit has a huge safety feature, if you connect the terminals backwards (Plus to Minus) no sparks. A red light and tone on the unit comes on and notifies you to check the connection for reverse polarity. But, you MUST have the Off/On switch set to Off position or you will get the dreaded sparks. Overall a great little unit to have on hand when you need it most.

We recently experienced 2 power outages. Unfortunately, we didn't have our vector power inverter at the time. It would have helped alot to have this product around to help recharge cell phones, run some smaller appliances or lights or even a radio or TV. Also, we had a daughter who had a dead battery and boy would this have made getting her up and running easier. The vector 1200 has lots of easy to use features. I really like the integrated air pump, you can set the pressure on the digital controls and quickly fill what ever needs air. This is a must have for anyone's garage. The only negatives are its weight and the way the instructions are printed on a flimsy, folded piece of paper. A small, glossy booklet would have been nice to have instead.

This jump starter came ready to take to the river! It has the ability to blow up all our rafts and then some! It will charge your phone light up a dusk sky and start your engine if you leave an interior light on. Fantastic! Can’t wait. Don’t have to call a tow truck for a jump anymore. I’ve used the charger, blown up rafts and floaties but haven’t needed to jump start anyone’s vehicle as yet. Vector makes a great product that’ll definitely come in handy.

This device does all of the things that it is supposed to do and does them well. I wanted it basically for emergency purposes. This fills the bill as it will jump start my SUV; recharge my cell phone, flashlight, etc.; inflate my car tires; provides AC power for small tools and appliances; and provides a little emergency light. I tried the AC outlet on a box fan and it operated at high speed just like I plugged into a wall outlet. I tried topping off the air pressure in one of my tires and it worked great. Just set the pressure at the proper setting and it pumps the tire to that pressure and shuts off. I checked the USB port for charging my flashlight and it worked great too. The connectors on the battery charger are far superior to the ones on my jumper cable too. The led lights aren’t very bright, but they are bright enough to make it possible to see to hook up the jumper cables when it is dark and are well located for that purpose. It was easy to charge up the unit with a regular extension cord. All in all, it does what it is advertised to do and all in one package. The package is on the heavy side. But it isn’t something that I will be carrying around a lot. I will keep it in the SUV for emergency use.
