Work great and very easy to install.

I was worried about installing these at first. The instructions are very easy to follow and it virtually snaps together in place with just a few screws for support. You don't have to measure anything as the clips have spacers to align them and they just screw in. The remote is pre-programed so after install you just start using it. Highly recommend them.
Hope it last a long time as they are installed 20 ft up in the ceiling. Easy to install following...

These blinds are worth every penny! Extremely easy to install, fit like a glove and reduce both light and heat tremendously. Would absolutely recommend them.

Originally, I requested help from manufacturer of our skylight (Velux). Velux provided no assistance and didn't even list this product on their website. They told me my installation was custom and they didn't offer a product to provide light filtering. I found product on Home Depot website and decided to order. Installed with some filler trim and liked result. After installation I sent an email to Velux explaining how this product helped solve a need that I had for a custom Velux skylight. I recommended they add to database for future reference and customer support needs. Thank you Home Depot for offering this "Velux" product with sufficient detail to help homeowners willing to work around non-standard product sizes.

These solar powered blinds are great! We purchased three blinds for our velux skylights, one light blocking for our bedroom and two light filtering. They were very easy to install with clear instructions and even came with a little screwdriver for the supplied torx head screws. They have been in a couple weeks and are functioning fine using the supplied remote controls. Each blind has its own remote that only operates that blind. The remote manual says you could program one remote to operate all blinds but one for each is just the way we want it. The light blocking blind keeps our bedroom dark with no noticeable light seepage. The light filtering allows light through without glare.
These blinds are great and I would definitely recommend them.
Disappointing manufacturing accuracy

The blind was specifically designed for the skylight model I have but I had to have a Velux pro come to install it (for $125) and he had a difficult time. Then it didn't fit right. It was too long for the skylight (seemed to have one slat too many) and left light gaps at the edges. When trying to shorten the blind he discovered (too late) that it's no longer possible to do that, due to the design so he had to order a new blind. That was 3 weeks ago because he hasn't been back to my area. So I have aluminum foil taped over the skylight to keep out the summer heat. The new blind is due to be installed in another week but he's only HOPING that it will have been manufactured to the exact size needed.
I had previously installed (by myself) Velux pleated shades on 2 skylights in my last house, which went up easily and I loved them but they are no longer offered. I'm told the venetian blinds will soon be discontinued, also. I can see why, if their manufacturing tolerances are as lax as on this one. I don't hold out much hope for the replacement to fit correctly, either.

Because these shades are specifically made for the model of skylight you are installing them in, they fit perfectly. The instructions are cryptic and nearly useless. A couple Utube videos were very helpful. It took 2 hours to figure out and install the first one, 20 minutes for the second
