I love this grill!! So worth it. It comes in a heavy box but all you have to do is assemble the legs and set the grates in. This is the best grill I have ever owned. Charcoal cooking provides the best flavor. I smoked a pork shoulder while it was snowing and this thing didn't even care about the ambient temperature. It is very different from what I was used to and I am so happy with it. I ordered it online and picked it up at the store. The store folks even helped me load it in to my car.

The Vision Pro S kamado grill is nice for its price point, very well constructed and has great accessories that definitely make it a contender. I additionally bought the gas conversion kit, which is a nice additional way to cook for the times when I don't wish to deal with a fire. Delivery was easy and the assembly was a snap, but you do need two people to put the kettle in the stand. Everything is well crafted and the barbecue feels really solid. The dual layer grill is nice as well. I purchased this grill because of the "Pro Zone" aspect of the grill which includes an ash drawer, electric starter slot and the ability to swap the unit out for the "Quick Change Gas Insert" expansion kit. This is also the grill's biggest weakness. It allows air leaks which hinder the ability to to low temperatures of 250 and below. Vision customer service is great and supplied materials to help with the issue, but I'm finding that I have to mod the drawer to make it more air tight. That said, the grill does a great job at cooking a high heat and I believe once I fix the leak issue I will have good results cooking low and slow. The meats I have cooked have come out moist and flavorful and as I go through the learning curve of using a kamado, I believe it will become a welcome addition to our outdoor cooking.

Being that the Vision grill was my first non-propane Grill I was really taking a leap of faith with other reviews I had read. Well, it exceeded my expectations! Now it does take some time adjusting the temperatures and cooking styles (direct/indirect, wood flavors etc) it certainly is a whole cooking experience that I feel makes someone more experimental with the menu options. Be sure to reach out to the online forums for suggestions and tips for all models/brands it has certainly helped my progression with this grill.

After ordering online, the grill was delivered to my house by truck strapped to a wood pallet. The packaging was superb and grill was completely unscathed from shipping. I was also pleased that it was delivered ahead of schedule in time to be used for the holidays. This grill is heavy duty and should last a very long time. I've used it three times now, all for smoking. The first time I couldn't get the temp down to 225 even when both bottom dials were completely closed. I finally concluded that it was leaking air at the bottom. I contacted vision (Zach) and he quickly sent my a sealing kit including silicone and a rubber gasket to reinforce the seal between the bottom pull out drawer and the grill body. They also sent me a chip repair kit for a VERY small chip I noticed on inside. The service was excellent and the parts arrived very quickly. I noticed while applying silicone that the nut on one of the dials was loose and was also a potential leak. Once I tightened the dial and applied the silicone, the grill worked as it should. It's big, it looks awesome, and is priced very competitively for all you get. Two pork shoulders and a smoked turkey turned out unbelievably good. Very happy so far after one month with both the product and the service.

I am amazed at the versatility of this grill from a culinary perspective. It is not only an outdoor grill, it is a pizza oven, a convection oven, and a smoker, to name just a few of its uses. I ordered this online and had it delivered to the store where I had Home Depot assemble it for me and then arranged delivery to my home. The service center at the Home Depot worked with me to ensure all was taken care of. It was delivered and had been carefully prepared for that part of the journey, arriving in perfect condition and fully assembled as promised. This item is a real find. If you had ever considered the "green" brand of this type of grill, I can tell you this Vision Grill has it beat on multiple levels including the price tag. Seriously!!! This Vision Grill offers more standard features than the "green" type and has the same solid construction. I love it. I had been researching this type of grill for over a year before purchasing. Very pleased!!

Best grill I’ve used, have had it for over a year. Have probably gone through more than 20 bags of lump charcoal, sometimes using the grill at least 3 times a week. Burgers, steaks, pork chops, chicken, pizza and on and on. East to start with the starting port, easy to clean with the ash drawer. Looked at other models and grills, this was the only way to go. Love putting some cherry wood or apple wood in with the coals for flavor, close the vents some to slow it down get some smoke in the meat. Customer service is great, the vent stuck a little in the cold weather and I broke the little adjusting fin. I called and Vision they sent a new one no charge in a couple of days. I would probably buy an XXL model if they ever made one.

Not only is this grill everything it's advertised to be, it's much more. After lots of exhaustive research and several changes of mind, I bought this grill, spending a bit more than originally intended. Finally, I did something right. Everything about this grill screams QUALITY. From the way it's packaged to the ease of assembly, this thing has been engineered to be exactly what the customer ordered. Regarding the service, don't get me started! While unloading the grill, I put a small scratch on the outer bowl. I let the service folks know about the mishap to see if I could buy some type of repair kit and they went to work like a house afire to provide me with exactly what I needed and refused to let me pay for it. What more could you possibly ask for - an incredible product with unparalleled service standing behind it! Truly one of the best decisions of my life. Thank you Vision Grills!

I have reviewed & looked at a number Kamado grills both ceramic & steel. I was referred to this Vision Kamado by my son-in-law and agreed with him that this grill is a better product & better value for the money than the more commonly known Green Egg or Big Joe. I like the air controls much better. I like the removable ash tray. The packaging is unbelievable and the assembly is quick & easy. It will take you longer to unpack than it will to assemble. Ordered the Taupe model on line from Home Depot and it was delivered to my home in a week for no charge. I absolutely recommend this product.

I want to let everyone know about Vision Grills and how they don't stand behind their product. I've had an issue with airflow ever since I purchased my VISION Grill and in contacting them for a warranty claim, they have asked me to fix this on my own accord with Silicon Caulk and tried to buy me off with a pair of free gloves. They refuse to acknowledge my warranty status, and have sent 7 communications to me asking me to "COOPERATE WITH THEM" and they will help me fix my grill by sending me some caulk to patch a major manufacturing flaw in their ceramic bottom bowl. Do yourselves a favor and never spend a dime on their product. Look at the photos attached and you can see how poorly they are manufactured. Spider cracking all over the ceramics, major airflow leaks, Nomax Felt that disintegrates in less than a year, and airflow so poor that you can't even think about smoking something on their grills. NEVER BUY VISION. Save your money and buy a Green Egg or another competitor. VISION products will only fail you.

My wife purchased this for me for Father's Day when I started talking about buying a Big Green Egg. I have a great Weber gas grill but I was looking into getting into "low and slow" cooking and smoking. Although I was talking about the BGE, she surprised me with this one. She picked it out because it is cheaper than the BGE and comes with more standard features (like wheeled cart and side tables which my brother had to purchase separately). I was a little skeptical at first because I had my heart set on the BGE (partly because my brother and neighbor each have one and love it and partly because I had never heard of this brand). In a nutshell, assembly was easy if you are even minimally adept at using basic tools (which come included but it's faster and easier to use your own more advanced tools if you have them). One review said the side table brackets were wrong and had to be bent by hand to make them work. I suspect that he may have accidentally swapped sides and put the wrong ones on the wrong side (which is easy to do if you're not paying close attention) or he got the wrong parts from the manufacturer because mine went on without any problem. I read up on line on the best way to cook different "low and slow" recipes (like brisket or pulled pork) and gave it a shot. The first few tries were a bit disappointing. My fire would burn too hot, take forever to cool down and then would have trouble staying lit for the requisite 5 to 10 hours I was planning on. Now with the benefit of experience, consultation with other guys, some material change (I only use Big Green Egg brand coal now) and technology (I bought a computer controller through BBQ Guru) I get amazing results. I don't use this as a regular "hamburger and hot dog" grill because my Weber is still better for that and for other basic things. You could use it for that if you wanted to, but you have to go through the lengthier lighting process and then you will have a pile of expensive coals that will burn for way longer than you need them to. Yes, you can starve the pit of oxygen to put out the coals and reuse them later, which is handy in other situations, but that's too much effort for hot dogs in my opinion. You can get this thing to 700 degrees to sear steaks and things like that but I use it almost exclusively as a smoker and "low and slow" cooker for the reasons mentioned above. I offer some helpful hints further down but if you want to quit reading here's the bottom line: If you want a cheaper full featured alternative to the Big Green Egg, then this grill is great. There is certainly a learning curve as far as temperature control and burn duration (as with any similar grill), but once you have that down it's a breeze. I would recommend this ceramic style grill to anyone looking to get into this type of cooking who doesn't want to spend the additional money on the BGE and extra accessories. A few hints: There is a lot of chatter on the internet about which is the best lump coal to use (regardless if you buy this brand of grill or other similar style grill). I started with Royal Oak but switched to the Big Green Egg brand based on my conversations with a few of my more seasoned grill veteran friends and a few of my own frustrating attempts. A lot of people claim that Royal Oak actually makes the coal for BGE, which might be absolutely true. Be that as it may, however, I have found the lump coal in the BGE branded bags to be consistently bigger and longer lasting. Maybe Royal Oak has an agreement with BGE to include a minimum percentage of certain sized chunks per bag or something like that. Who knows? All I know is that I have never been disappointed with BGE brand coal and it has always worked better for my purposes. I have never tried the Cowboy brand but almost every review I can find from sources I trust say it's junk. Setting up your burn: If you are going to cook at a low temperature (I shoot for between 200 and 220) for a long time (5 hours or more) then you have to start out right. I don't know how other grills compare to this one as far as setting up your cook, but this is what has worked for me after a lot of trial and error. Start with A LOT of coal. I fill the whole bottom of the basin until the coal covers and goes above the vent holes cut into the sides of the burn basin. Then gather it all up and pile it into a pyramid on the coal grate. Use your electric starter in the included starter hole and let it go for about 15 to 20 minutes until you get a good, hot burn going (vents wide open, lid open). Remove the starter, close the starter door, spread the coals out evenly across the bottom of the basin (make sure to mix burning coals with coals that are not started all the way), close the right vent dial all the way, open the left vent dial to 1 or a shade less, close the lid and close the top vent to almost fully closed (open only 1/16 or 1/8 inch). The inside temp will actually come down quite a bit lower than what the built in thermometer indicates in about 20 minutes or so (I use a thermometer probe clipped right to the actual cooking grate). Once the temperature comes down to where you want it, keep an eye on it for another 15 - 20 minutes and adjust vents as needed. Make very minor corrections until you get a feel for it or the temperature will swing wildly up and down as you over correct. Be patient. When it gets to where you want it, add large chunk wood pieces if you plan on smoking your food and then add the cooking grate(s) with the food already on them ready to go. The high tech option. You don't need this but it makes life a lot easier and, if you're a gadget geek like me, it's really cool. BBQ Guru makes a series of computerized temperature controllers that use a small fan to blow air into your grill as needed to keep your grill at a preset temperature. There is a probe that clips to your cooking grate and probes that go into your food. You can keep track of the pit temperature as well as the food temperature. Depending on the model you buy you can also have alerts sent right to your phone or email and you can also make adjustments to the preset pit and food temperatures from anywhere using their web site. The fan hooks up (on this grill) to the electric starter slot after you remove the starter. The top of the line model isn't cheap, but I find it to be well worth the money. I can set my cook early in the morning and keep track of it all day from my office making adjustments remotely if necessary. Once you get the feel for the vents and where to put them the grill temperature will stay fairly consistent without this gizmo, but it is way, way, way easier to keep a consistent temperature with it, especially in the lower temperature ranges for really long cooks.

I have cooked T-bone steaks and whole chicken to perfection on this grill. Doesn't use much charcoal and is easy clean up. I am very happy with the grill. If you want achieve smoking temperatures you will need to use less charcoal instead of relying on the vents.

We have really enjoyed cooking on our grill. We have smoked ribs, cooked a steak and even a pizza. I found that the enclosed documentation on recommended setting for the air vents were not accurate for smoking for me and had to monitor it. Not knowing how much charcoal (mesquite charcoal) to use while smoking I loaded it up as much as I could beneath the lava stone and found the next day after the grill had cooled that I still had enough charcoal to do a steak meal and that was after 5 hours of smoking. The double racks are nice but found it a bit difficult if you were basting meats on both racks. There just is not a lot space between the racks. My only complaint so far is that I found the electric starter port did not work for me. The metal cover on the top took all the heat from the lighter and after 10 minutes I had to move the lighter over the edge of the grill like you would on most grills to light the charcoal. I should also note that I did not see in the directions how the lighter port piece should be installed however it did not seem difficult to figure out. Please note that it is heavy and you need 2 people to put it together. So far we love it.

I did quite a bit of research. These were priced right on sale which was my tipping point. Cooks fabulous streaks and burgers. There is a bit of a learning curve when smoking because it does have some air leaks and temp control is a bit harder than I thought it would be. Hence the 4 star instead of the 5. I would buy it again though. If you buy the accessories kit, install the heater Holder for the electric lighter during assembly of the stand. Do not do it after you put the kamado in it because yoiu need to undo a few of the bolts.

I returned the grill after owning it for 80 days. I wanted to keep it but had two primary issues: difficulty in holding low temperatures (250) and it takes a while to get temp up to 700 degrees with a fire chimney full of charcoal. I did contact their customer service team who was awesome, but the workarounds (new gasket and bending ash drawer) did not do the trick. The grill is great looking and the lower frame is built really well. The Vision Kamado was an upgrade from the Akorn Kamado, which I had for 6 years. The Akorn would get crazy hot in no time and held temps well, but it isn't the best looking grill. I recently bought a Kamado Joe and am very happy with it.

I recommend this for anyone who enjoys smoking . We decided to use apple wood to season the grill and everything we have smoked has came out delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the delivery. There should be specific times that you can meet the delivery man . This was a Father's Day surprise and there was no way I could lift this alone.

The Smoking Strawberry. That's what the kids named my new Chili Red grill. Mine isn't anything like the dark red pictured on Home Depot or Vision Grills website. Bummed because that's why we waited 3 weeks for this one to come in stock, and it would have matched items on our deck perfectly. Sure, they offered to refund or exchange, but grill back ordered again for another 3 weeks. Thank goodness this grill is AWESOME. Everything I've cooked has been said "best ever" by all. So I'll get over the color, and enjoy the way this thing operates. Really a great deal compared to other kamados. I'd recommend highly.

This is an exceptional grill. The ceramic design locks the flavor in. I highly recommend it to anybody that loves to grill. To this point I've cooked Boston butt, pork tenderloin, chicken, sausage, steak, and fish. All were really good. The instructions that come with the grill are particularly helpful for temperature control. After over a month of trying it out I have no complaints. We're very happy with the purchase. It's the best grill I've ever owned.

great product, easy to assemble. You must learn this smoker, meaning, you must do a few cooks to be able to judge right amount of charcoal, position on the grill, etc. Too much charcoal and your temp will get a way from you and is very hard to lower the temp once it is 25+ degrees too high , but this is true with any Kamado style smoker; they retain heat very well and is also the reason they are so good at smoking! I am pleased with the purchase.

Easy for me to assemble. Hard to lift out of my truck and heavy to move to its location. I knew it was going to be heavy and it is. I have grilled and smoked steaks, Grilled pizza on a stone and smoked pork ribs. WOW ! Do not tell anybody about these Vision Kamados. You want one but do not tell anyone how good it is. Please keep my secret. Nice smoke flavor and at first hard to light charcoal. Bought an electric starter and you want one. Nicest, heaviest smoker grill I have ever had. All meats were moist. Follow the directions and I would bet you will be impressed.
