It went on easy and I applied 3 coats to get the gloss effect I wanted. The brush was cleaned with soap and water.

I was disappointed with this product and had to get a different brand.

Very easy to use even for the unskilled such as myself. Results in a very smooth and even finish. Clean up is also so easy.

Really Quick Dry, Flows really nice through a HVLP Gravity Gun. Applied it outside and dried to touch in 30 minutes.

I’ve gotten great performance when spraying it undiluted in my Earlex sprayer.

Mine was Exterior polyurethane single quart , it worked well on some deck tables I had ,would buy again ..

VARATHANE is one of my GO TO products when working with wood. ME? I prefer the GLOSS just for looks (2 coats or more, sanding in between coats), and if I do not want a gloss I can always use steel wood to erase the gloss without ruining the protection of VARATHANE.

This is my 3rd gallon of Varathane in 6 month for a 2 bedroom remodel. I used 2 other similar products by different brands first that became unavailable. I used the products to coat unfinished pine and cedar planking (3 to 4 coats). The results are exceptional, application is a breeze, and cleanup is as easy as rinsing the brushes with water. All my trim was coated lying flat to get as fine a finish as possible, but even applying the 3 coats on the cedar (already nailed on the walls) produced a flat finish with no runs, but I did follow instructions and apply coats sparingly, i.e.not a thick coat. If there is one drawback, it's that the finish dries so quickly you could conceivable apply 4 coats in one day, but the directions say apply no more than 2 coats in a day. I did test the limits of this by applying a coat early in the morning on unfinished wood (the first coat sucks right in on cedar), then applying another coat 2 hours later, then one last coat in the evening. The results seem just as durable and well finished as the 2 coats applied a day, but I didn't make a habit of it. I used the satin finish on all my projects, on pine and spruce it darkened the wood slightly, on cedar it was even a little darker, but on walnut it didn't darken at all- it just made the beautiful grain stand out. All in all I'm very satisfied and will continue to stick with Varathane for my projects.

It produced a rich color with a good even finish with two coats. I have not used it in a high use area yet so I can not attest to it's durability.

I used this product on a handpainted gift and had to sand it down, repaint it and start over. It immediately turned an amber color and look awful. I will never purchase this product again.

This product was easy to apply, looks great, and did not leave brush marks. Clean up with soap and water was a breeze.

Coatings were very thin. Took too many to leave a good coating. Would rather use Minwax brand.

Perfect just what we needed to put a couple of layers on some burnt wood I did for a project. Kid left a sippy cup that had some juice in it and out of it hahaha sat on the finished wood over night and I was able to wipe it up now issues the next day.

Worked even better that I expected. Great coverage non streaky or yellowing.

This poly does what it says, goes on smooth, protects and gives a deep high gloss shine that adds depth to finished project. I do wish it dried a lil faster but is what it is. Also make sure to use a high quality brush to apply poly, it will ensure you get a smooth surface.
