I have used this varnish many times. It shows up white at first so you can see where you need to paint. Then it finishes with a nice coat. And this one allows washing your brushes with water. The star came up 1 but should be 5 stars

Hard to avoid brush marks
If using on a small piece i suppose this would be fine. But I used it on a 6x3 tabletop and found it impossible to maintain a wet edge. It dries so fast that when you overlap on the next section you pull up the poly you put down 5 minutes before. Whatever time I theoretically saved by putting down one triple thick coat will be undone by the increased amount of sanding I’ll do before my final coats (which will be with regular poly somit flows better).

Triple thick is easier to use than regular thick if you need multiple coats. None of the current urethanes hold up as well as the older ones. These may be safer to use but still not as durable as before.

    Too Thick
Bought this hoping to cut down on the number of coats. I applied with an HVLP sprayer and just couldn't get a good pattern. A 1.8 mm nozzle helped but still didn't spray well and it still took 3 coats. I also didn't feel like it penetrated into the wood as well as regular poly. Thinned by 10% it is still thicker than un-thinned regular poly. I suppose one could thin this product down even more by adding more water beyond the 10% and get better economy, but at what cost?

Thank you for sharing your experience using our Varathane Triple Thick Polyurethane. We recommend applying this coating using a high quality synthetic bristle brush, spreading the poly with brush strokes in the direction of the wood grain, and avoiding overworking the polyurethane with back and forth brushing. If brush marks are noticed, lightly skim the surface to smooth these strokes before the polyurethane begins to dry. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum

      Bubbles everywhere
Bubbles are everywhere. I am so frustrated using this product. My last project I used a different product and very few bubbles. Perfectly smooth after 3 coats. This project is brutal after three coats. Bubbles are everywhere. And it sure wasn’t triple thick. After the first coat I sanded through the coat and had to restain. Not impressed.

We want to try to help, Aaron! Prior to applying the Rust-Oleum Varathane Triple Thick Polyurethane, ensure your stain is completely dry. Stir the polyurethane well prior to use and avoid shaking, to prevent bubbles in the finish. Apply using a high quality synthetic bristle brush, in one, thick smooth uniform coat. Do not over work the coating, as this may cause thinning of the film.

Works well, with a couple of caveats.
Bought this to go over a Varathane stain on pine it did a good job, but you need to have a well lit area to see the places where it is too thin. If you are looking for a perfectly smooth finish, you will still have to steel wool it and apply a second coat as it will still lift the wood fibers slightly, at least on softwoods.

        Very easy to use.
Very easy to use, I have used this alot and it makes for a fast finish. I use it on hard woods as well as soft woods even plywood. It covers easy and gives a good even coat.

        Definitely thicker
Thick but still easy to apply. Thickness should be able to use less coats. My problem I was still thinning it out but that will change as I get use to using it.

        Works great.
Used this as a top coat on multiple cabinets in a kitchen and on some baseboard trim. It goes on smooth and gives a durable finish, although we gave it multiple coats just to be sure.
