The color is great. I had to thin it to let more wood grain show through. I have soooo much product left over. I wish it was sold in tiny cans.

First time I have used this color. I made a picture frame and was trying to match a piece of furniture color. It matched perfect. Made my wife so happy. My life is happy.

I haven't had a chance to do my sample boards for the Garden & Accessory cabinets I am doing for a garage project, but I did a test on a large terracotta plant vase, which is almost 2'ft tall and 30"inch wide..... 1 coat of the stain and 2 coats of acrylic sealant. The vase came out stunning!!!! Goes incredibly well with the red, white, blue theme vases....and looks great. I will do some sample boards this weekend, but I will say this Varathane's Barn Red is fantastic. Looks great and I can't wait to do the other samples.

The color is fantastic. It looks like a deep cherry on barn wood.

Great stain and color
This stain color was the closest color we could get to match the rest of our mid century furniture. We are so pleased.

Weathered Gray looks cheap and painted on
On freshly-cut pine the weathered gray went on very inconsistently and looked more or less painted on. Nobody in my family liked it. I did end up going with Behr’s bold coffee custom tint, which looks awesome and goes on like a proper stain.

Let's talk about this, Miles! Rust-Oleum Varathane Premium Fast Dry Wood Stain must be applied to bare, sanded wood. Sanding the wood helps ensure the stain can properly penetrate. When staining a softwood, like pine, we do recommend using Rust-Oleum Varathane Wood Conditioner to help prevent a blotchy appearance.

Very easy to apply and it's a nice dark brown. I used 2 coats and it looks great. Only one coat of you want to see grain of wood.
    Great color for butcher block

    Predictable Quality Stain
I have used 3 quarts of the weathered gray stain for all of my cabinets, from dining room built ins, kitchen, bath vanity, to fireplace mantle. It comes out a deep gray, a little darker than i wanted, so i wait a couple of hours and cut it back with golden pecan. It leaves a warm oak look, with the open grains showing the dark tones. It does have a strong odor, so working in the shop or garage (or outdoors-weather permitting) is desred.

      Perfect simi-transparent black stain!
I was looking for a black -ish semi-transparent stain that would be solid consistent color but allow the texture of the wood to be visible. This was the only one I could find and it coated perfectly and completely in just one coat. Works great and finishes very well.

80 year old hardwood floors look like barnwood now
Love Love Love the color Carrington! it made our 80 year old oak floors look like Barnwood! We just wiped it down with a brush and wiped it off with rags didn't let it sit for too long because we didn't want it that dark. On a different set of floors I left it on for about three minutes and wiped it off and they are much darker but still just as beautiful. You cannot go wrong with Carrington! We are now going to sand down all of our doors to match

These are by far my most favorite of stains
I have been using these for so many years and I love the quality. I have been always happy with the quality however i will say in no way does this ever dry before 6 -12 hours. Sometimes if its humid it will take way more time. No matter what it is worth the wait.

          Came out GREAT!
Easy to apply and looks great! Just remember to wipe of the excess before it dries. Looks even better after applying epoxy glaze! I would also recommend letting any indoor furniture to dry for several days before bringing back inside.

Vintage Aqua is more blue than Bleached Blue
Over a year ago, I built a shelf and stained it with Varathane Wood Stain in color: Bleached Blue. Recently I noticed the local box stores do not carry that color. But there is a newer blue color that I noticed within the Varathane Wood Stain section: Vintage Aqua. Like I suspected, these 2 colors are different, which I like both. See this photo of a wood block with bleached blue on the left & vintage aqua on the right.

              Favorite stain
This is my new favorite brown stain. Has a good grey undertone. I love the premium stains. They go on smooth and easy and are a bit thicker. I have not been disappointed yet.

              Varathane is a top Choice.
This product is incredible. I've used it to refinish an old table and an antique rocking chair. Both projects turned out great. The Varathane goes on easily and covers well. For large blemishes and wood filler multiple coats are necessary for best coverage. I like Varathane much more than the Minwax varnish stain.

Good coverage for a reasonable price
Needed a small amount of black stain and this was perfect. Covered very well.

              Very Cherry
I chose Traditional Cherry and it is MUCH darker and brighter than the label shows. I've used it on several projects now and it produces a vibrant finish after covering it with a little poly. It's easy to use and covers nicely. I have found it advisable to use a sealer first. I've been using a homemade black tea wash and I think the results are spectacular.

I bought this because of a Pinterest post about stable and this is he stain they used. I couldn’t find it anywhere local so I was forced to order it. I only had a choice o buy two quarts at a time, so I did. I applied the stain and it looked nothing liked the pictures from the table on Pinterest. So what did I do, I improvised and put two coats of the honey maple and then did one light stain of carrington (dark stain) and wiped it off immediately & got an awesome color! I just used it on some stills and came out beautiful! Thanks

The premium brand is the best stain ever. I stained my stairs and banister that had a clear poly finish on it. I was surprised I was able to stain right over it and it looks gorgeous. No stripping was needed. The premium was much deeper in tone which is less coats. I let it cure fir 24 hrs if you want a darker tone. The second coat left a nice shine no top coat needed.

Love the color! Took me a while to match a trim with this color but this color is amazing after I brushed some poly on it!

Product looks great easy to apply and I’m glad I bought Tolbert two pack because I had to crack into the second on the last few boards. If you know you are going to use both cans I suggest combining them in a clean container for a uniform color. I didn’t see a difference in the two cans but others have complained about a color difference.

              Is this Summer Oak?
Picture and actual color is totally different.. My project had to be done that day so I went ahead and stained it but I’m wondering if it’s the right color.
