  • Useless garbage
  • June 12, 2019

I followed the instructions and added the hardener in a more than 1 to 50 ratio and it was like a wet putty after 1 day. Then we were forced to wet sand everything off and dry the wood to do over again. The next day we added even more hardener, mixed everything longer than the instructions said to be absolutely certain that the hardener was completely mixed in, and applied the mix to the wood. We waited about 4 hours to give it plenty of time to harden but it was still wet. After that, we just let it sit overnight and most parts were hardened. We started to sand those spots and the filler was rolling off in small pieces so we stopped. This product literally held up our project for 2 days already. I hope I can save someone from wasting their time and energy on this useless garbage product.

Many problems. You can't use the plastic cup cover for a mixing container, since it has internal ribs. You can't tell when the white part B mixes with the light grey part A, since it disappears immediately. You DO NOT get 15 minutes working time..More like 3 I tried 3 times, usin g less and less of part B. Still about 3 minutes. Ambient temperature was about 70F, inside, in a basement. I ran out of part A before using all of B. You cannot tell the correct amount of part B to add (the instructions say use a ratio of 1:50. How do you measure that?) When I got near the bottom of the can, I discovered an oily part that had separated during storage. No instructions to mix well before use... Even so, when I mixed up the oily stuff with the resin for my last batch, it still hardened in about 3 or 4 minutes. Didn't have a clock on it, but it was fast.

It dries real grainy. Not like Bondo filler but you were out and I needed it the day I bought it, as I was out of Bondo filler. Harder to sand out too.

Hardner is in a small tube Instructions say to mix at 50/1.So I took about half of the paste and squeezed out some hardner, mixed everything for two minutes and started patching About three minutes later the stuff got unworkable. Figured that I used to much hardner Next I mixed rest of the products and they stayed workable for about five minutes I’m getting some different epoxy that mixes at a 50/50 ratio

Firstly smells so bad and affects eyes even though protection glasses. Secondly it is easy to use it but when sanded it gets muddy and it didn’t stick on wood anymore. I’ve bought two cans and one of them hadn’t has hardener. Most probably someone took it before and I didn’t realize that I had to check it while buying.

I bought this product and then read the reviews which were terrible and so i took it back. The complaints seemed to be about troubles mixing and then either drying too fast or too slowly. My contractor recommended DAP Plastic Wood - goes on pink and dries to natural color.

  • No hardening product included

I used it yesterday and it is not drying. I reread the directions and it said to add the hardener. There was no gardener in the can. I am a novice so I spent $13 for nothing.

  • Does not take the stain well like bondo
  • June 25, 2020

I ran out of the bondo wood filler and the store was out of it so I bought the varathane. It does take a little longer to harden but I personally prefer the 3-5 minutes of bondo which makes things go real fast. The main issue is that when I added the minwax wood stain, it hardly absorbs it and it still looked kind of greyish. Bondo takes the stain really well and even the non stained color is brownish like wood.. it was a small area so I am gonna have to live with it but I will never be buying this again.
