Apply this granular snake repellent around the perimeter of the area you want to protect. You need to wear gloves when applying the product. The directions recommend placing bands 4 in. to 5 in. wide for non-poisonous snakes and, 8 in. to 12 in. wide to repel for poisonous snakes. For yard application, sprinkle Snake-A-Way throughout the area within the perimeter. When you cant smell the odor, simply reapply. ingredients. The 10 lbs. resealable bag should last us for a year or two. The information on the package indicates that it temporarily disrupts snakes’ sensory reception. I hope this will deter them and they will find another place to be. I spread the pellets about a two weeks ago.....so far no snakes!!! I want to wait another month to see if the product provides the protection we want and see how long it lasts before I give it 5 stars.

My backyard is near a wooded area and we have had snakes that decide to find their way into our planting beds near the house. I cleaned out my beds and applied Snake-A-Away directly on the ground. So far I have not seen any snakes around our house. This product was easy to spread and had good ground coverage. If you have snake issues, I would definitely recommend that you pick up some Snake-A-Way to keep snakes out of your beds and house,

Dear Seeds Customer Service Team;
The below information is my review of the product Victor Snake-Away Repelant:
"This review of VICTOR SNAKE-A-WAY 28 LBS. SNAKE REPELLING GRANULES is somewhat premature; snakes in this area have begun to den due to the onset of colder weather in Eastern Colorado and Western KS. The application instruction for the use of this product clearly states to not apply it in an area where it may "confine snakes" that have already infested an area. In and around my house, snakes may have already moved in under the foundation. I will apply this product in the Springtime where I know snakes are active and submit a more realistic review of this product."

I picked this up after 2 rattlesnakes were killed about 100 yards from my camp. Part of the camp is off the ground and provides a perfect hiding place for unwanted varmints. The container comes with a pull-out pour spout, but I preferred to spread it with a homemade scooper. The top resealed nicely so I know the product will remain fresh until I use it again. The sulfur gives the granules a slight pungent odor, but that’s what confuses the snakes. The best thing about using this product is that it gives me a little “peace of mind” that I’m not going to come eye-to-eye with a rattlesnake.
The Victor Snake Repelling Granules are intended to repel garter snakes, rattlesnakes, and other species from areas they are not wanted. This granular snake repellent is applied around the perimeter of the area you want to protect. Snake-A-Way is detected by the snakes Jacobson's Organ (auxiliary olfactory sense organ) and disrupts its sensory reception. This disorientation apparently causes the snake to slither away in search of fresh air. WEARING GLOVES apply the granules to the perimeter of the area that you want to be protected is necessary. Place bands 4 in. W to 5 in. W to repel garter snakes, 8 in. W to 12 in. W to repel rattlers. For yard application, sprinkle Snake-A-Way throughout the area within the perimeter. When odor becomes faint, simply reapply. This product contains naphthalene (7%) and sulfur (28%) as its active ingredients.
The manufacture offers these comments: While this product may deter a variety of snakes, it is not expected to consistently repel snakes of the following types: corn snakes and other rat snakes, "moccasin" snakes such as cottonmouths and copperheads. According to the manufacture, the efficacy of the repellent varies with snake taxonomy. Some species are repelled with remarkable effectiveness, while others are not. However, according to the manufacture all species tested, exhibited some degree of behavioral avoidance of the repellent. There are circumstances in which individual snakes of all species tested will cross a strip of repellent, so the product cannot be regarded as an absolute barrier to these reptiles.
The manufacture recommends applying in the spring, summer, and fall. When the odor of Snake-A-Way becomes faint, its effectiveness may be diminished. If this occurs during a season when snakes are active retreat.
I have an area where snakes enter and exit from my storage shed. I have treated it twice and have not seen any snakes for the past several weeks.
This 28 lb. pail of Victor Snake-A-Way Snake Repelling Granules is a EPA registered product and is long lasting. I have recently seen a few snakes on my property and this large pail should give me three or more treatments. Since it is fall I put down a light treatment around the house and will give a full treatment in the spring. The only drawback is the slight smell but with the colder weather the windows are closed and I will try spreading it further away from windows in the spring. I liked that you don’t have to remove the cover of the pail as it has a spout to dispense the granules which also keep the granules dry.

I am excited about the potential for this product. I have coral and rattlesnakes that this time of year come into my yard from their summer hangout in the woods behind my home. This time of year, they especially like coming into the shed to stay warm and then hibernating in various areas within the shed or around it/under it. This product is unlike any other that I have used, as it has a strong almost pungent smell near that of a bag of moth balls. After distribution of these pellets, when I walk near the shed it becomes very clear that this product is there and protecting the perimeter, If you can zoom in on the photos, you can see the pellets spread around on the ground near the foundation. Package says it may deteriorate after a rainfall, so I have sprinkled some into the corrugation of the metal panels inside near the edge on the floor and near the doors. Time will tell if it has staying power, I am hoping that it will, because as it gets colder out they will be looking for a winter home so I hope this will deter them and they will find another place to be and just leave me alone. I spread the pellets about a week ago.....so far NO SNAKES!!! YEAH!! i will continue to use this this fall and then again next spring and summer.

This product is granulated for easy broadcast distribution and is meant for outdoor use only. The directions are informative and helpful. One must wear protective gloves to handle the granules to distribute them. For small snakes like garter snakes a six inch band of granules is recommended. For rattlesnakes and larger snakes a twelve inch distribution band is recommended with a light sprinkling within the surrounding band. Instructions recommend distribution around houses, cabins, trailers, garages, utility buildings, barns, woodpiles, sand piles, trash cans and flower beds. The product should not be distributed where snakes are known to already exist. The product is not to be distributed on gardens or fields where food crops are grown. It is detrimental to fish and should not be distributed directly to water or areas where surface water is present.

Effective when used properly. I NEVER HAD A SNAKE PROBLEM while using this product. Next door has snakes all spring and summer. Used in early spring and 3 months later in June. Pros: affordably treats long boundaries. Cons: Smelly. Has the classic Mothball scent. AVOID USING AT ENTRANCES. I made that mistake. Apply 50-60 ft away from windows and doors ,still effective. From building corners and fenceline you can construct a circle "barrier" . Used another maker organic product around entrance, less powerful but pleasant.

I really am glad I got VICTOR SNAKE-A-WAY 28 LBS. SNAKE REPELLING GRANULES! These granules give me and my loved ones peace of mind when we are in the yard! Where I live in central Georgia, Copperheads abound, and until now, had free rein of the yard! After using Snake-A-Way, I haven't seen a single one! It does have a smell of mothballs, but the way I figure it, I'd rather smell mothballs than have to go to the emergency room for a series of painful antivenin injections! I highly recommend Snake-A-Way for anyone have a snake problem!

The Victor Snake-A-Way 28 lbs. Snake Repelling Granules is mostly designed to keep rattlesnakes and garter snakes away. In the area I am in we don't have any rattlesnakes that I know of. We do however have the occasional garter snake and black rat snakes. I put a little down around the deck just to kind of test since the weather is getting colder. I haven't seen any snakes at all thus far.

Living in the country makes this product a must have! I have seen several Copper head snakes near my shed. I am frequently in and out of this shed and worried the snakes would make there way inside. I was able to easily place the Snake Away granuals around my shed. I haven't seen any snakes since! I feel safer knowing that the snakes won't be inside my shed and confident that when reaching for an item inside, I won't have to worry about a snake bite!

we bought this as we found 2 snakes in our dining room on two separate days. (we rehomed them to the fields where they would be better off.) They were baby snakes so we figured that there had to be a mother snake somewhere. We live in the country so wild animals are normal around us but we do not want them in our house. We bought this bag of snake away and sprinkled it all around our home. After placing the granules around our home as instructed we have never seen another snake.

Out home is somewhat rural and we have woods surrounding us which means we have encountered snakes over the years. I’m excited to give this Snake Away product a try!! I applied it to the perimeters of our yard in hopes the snakes will stay in the woods and not come close to our home! It does have a slight strong odor upon application but quickly diminishes.
I wore gloves while applying it. Fingers crossed!

The 28 pounds Victor Snake-a-way, snake repellant in granule form comes in a large plastic container, please see my first picture.
Container is easy to open and reseals turn the small lid back on. This is important to keep the granules dry and fresh.
The second picture shows the granules poured in a small bucket, you can see how it looks. From the aroma this product is similar to other snake repellants I have used.
I spread it around my small pond following the directions, I need to keep the snakes out of my pond to protect my smaller KOI fish. Very confident this product is ready for the task. The large container will ensure that we will get many treatments out of it.
Recommend this snake-a-way.

An easy and good combination solution to not attract snakes. I have a lot of field mice around my yard and I do not want them to attract snakes. I used traps for the mice and naphthalene, that is easy to acquire, to keep snakes away from the mice. I still have garter snakes. I think that this is an excellent solution that combines naphthalene and sulfur as the active ingredients.

This review is for the Woodstream Inc. Victor's Snake-A-Way snake repelling granules,
that comes in a 10 pound bag, a good amount for the average home owner and which
should give good coverage and working time. And it's a Made in the USA product.
As I reside in Phoenix, located in the Sonoran Desert, there are rattlesnakes and other
slithery vermin here, some not snakes. They were here first, are not commonly seen, but
they do tend to show up in the most unusual places. And it's that time of year that they
are out.
Their bites to pets can be lethal and mandatory treatment at the Vet's is very expensive.
Adults ate bitten every year in the Southwest and some people do not survive.
When I came across this product, I thought I would give it a try as it's far cheaper than
treating a snake bite and I wanted that extra barrier around my property where snakes
could enter my back yard.
I highly recommend that you follow the instructions precisely as these granules are not
a material to fool with, there are consequences for misuse. In application this morning,
I wore elbow length rubber gloves and a cotton face respirator so I don't breath the dust
as I was applying the granules.
As I was trying to repel rattlesnakes, I laid down a 12 inch wide barrier across the gravel
at the base of a gate leading into my backyard. The color of the granules and the color of
my rock cover is the same so it quickly became invisible to the eye. I placed a 12 inch wide
band of granules on the outside of the gate, a place where my dogs will not have access to.
This product is not safe for humans nor animals to ingest so care must be taken. I don't
care if the snakes ingest it all day long, but it's the odor that keeps the snakes away. After
application, I sealed the bag and placed it on a high shelf to keep away from prying hands.
I've had snakes in my yard before and luckily got my dogs inside before there was an
encounter that my dogs would lose. I am having hope that this product will keep them
all out and only time will tell to see how effective it is. I wonder how many rattlers
make it into my yard that I don't see, or hear. Hissss.

Victors snake a way...we purchased this product base on the fact that it works. We had a problem with water moccasins getting into our back yard and a good friend at Home Depot in the garden department made the recommendation. And it works,we have not had any more problems with any type snakes in our back yard which has been great. The product itself repels both poisonous and non-poisonous snakes as well as other species. One of the main ingredients is sulfur as found in moth balls, though mixed with other ingredients in a granular form for easy to apply application. Once applied the product last up to 3 months as with moth balls they break down faster and don't last as long. The only downside we could see with this product was it cannot be used if you have pets or small children and it's for outdoor use only. This bucket covers a 3.5 acre area. Also the product is an EPA-registered snake repellent.
I received theVictor Snake-A-Way 28 lbs. Snake Repelling Granules several days ago. My sister was cleaning out a flower bed when she noticed a snake in the bushes near the garage area. She could not describe it and I initially did not pay it much thought. Then a snake skin near the garage entrance was found so I decided to do something about it. This Snake-A-Way has done the job thus far as I have not seen any signs of snakes. I spread it in a wider area than described and took the time to put it around both my outside sheds. Since then my sister has decided to come back over again. She also took some of the product to her house just to ensure no snakes around. It says it will not harm anything, even the snakes, which is a good thing as this alone will please a lot of people. This is a good product and repels vs kills.
I have used this product every year, once a year for the last 3 years and I have yet to see a snake in the yard. Previously, before I used this product , I had at least 2 or more snakes every season. I have a 3 acre property and it's expensive to put it out, but it is well worth it and for the peace of mind you can't beat it! Love this stuff!! you just put it out around the perimeter and the snakes won't cross it. Since I have rattlers out here it's good to know they won't be hanging around!! Highly recommend it!
