“RED” ? Mulch?? look at it carefully, my lawn guy didn’t.
I’ve bought this brand of red mulch before. This time it appears to be brown???? Soooo, we’re doing brown this summer.

Nice deep brown mulch
Loved the deep brown of this mulch. Ended up using 3 bags of a light layer of mulch on top of my previous mulch for this area.

They seem to have changed the product in the bag.
I really liked the old product that came out of the all red bag, now the bag has a new logo with green on it. And a different product inside. It has the same bar code as before. But the new product is much darker and small chunks compared to what it use to be. In the photos you can see the old bag on the left, with the new bag on the right. Also the new stuff on top. And the older stuff on the bottom of the 2nd photo.

Black, wood, mulch
I bought four bags of the black mulch and it had a yellow label on it went back for five more and it was a different and newer bag. The first one said black mulch the second one said black wood mulch, but they have the same SKU the black mulch is way finer and better but now you can’t find it so now I’m stuck with two different colors in my yard.

Satisfied with Vigoro.
I purchased 75 bags and I'm pretty satisfied with the product. It has great color (black) and worked for my need. There were 4 bags that did have a larger piece of wood or a clump in it that I had to break up with a shovel. I would definitely use the Vigoro brand again. It is also reasonably priced.

Was mad the red is not color matching the first 30 bags I bought looked orange in color , which was fine ,but I ran out and bought 6 more bags and looked brown in color was bent out of shape because I had to shovel 6 bags worth and get rid of , had hard time getting proper color match

This mulch is terrible. I bought about 20 bags of this mulch. I put it on my flower beds about 3 weeks ago and the mulch has already turned a light red brown color. It is not red. The color is supposed to last 12 months so I am not happy about that at all. You can see the difference between the mulch I just bought and the mulch I bought on Memorial Day. I plan to show the pictures to Home Depot to see if I can get a refund.

Do not buy, this stuff is garbage
The mulch has huge, inconsistent chunks and I found plastic and rocks mixed in. The bags that I bought had no consistent color, some had no coloration in the mulch in the center of the bag, like it leached out. Mind you, this was all from a single pallet. I would ask for a refund if I could.

Horrible mulch
We buy mulch every yr and this by far is the absolute worst mulch I've ever seen or used. I'm mad that I spent hours cleaning out our old mulch, only to open this stuff up and see that our old mulch actually looked better than this stuff. It was very dull and dry, a slight brown color, a lot of bare unstained wood. The pieces were not shredded well either, a lot of it is huge and there were even rocks mixed in there. Very, very poor quality!

Worst mulch ever!
We have been using this brand for years without a problem. This year, every bag we used was garbage. Large hunks of wood. Pieces of 2x4. The pieces were so large, we needed more bags to cover our area. They must be having quality control issues. Will not buy again awful

Quality mulch that looks great.

Save your money. Get the better stuff
I was very disappointed with this mulch. Save your money and spend a bit extra for better. Here are the problems with this mulch:
1. Inconsistent size and color between bags (see pic). Even though I picked bags from the same pallet, there was a definite difference in color and and texture between bags. Some were dark black and some bags were more brown.
2. I found all kinds of very large pieces of wood, garbage, a metal piece of fence, even a screw mixed in.
3. Some of the bags had mold.
4. The overall texture is way too large for quality mulch.

The Vigorous mulch was easy to spread in my 2 little garden spots. It has held its place through a couple of weekends of intense rain. It has added so much to the appearance of the gardens and so far is retarding the emergence of weeds. Very pleased with this product.

Worst mulch I’ve ever bought
I have used mulch from several stores,supermarkets and nurseries.Didn’t have much time so I was near a HD and purchased 12 bags HD is 30 miles from my house.This mulch is nothing but colored pieces of wood.I had to stumps ground down and the chips were smaller.Stay away

Rocks in bag
In the brown mulch bag there were 3-4 rocks some close to the size of my hand inside the bag with the mulch which make it heavier. The bag is sold by the pound. Why are there rocks in the bag. Come on Vigoro do you really need to put rocks in the bag to increase the weight. Do you have to cheat us Home Depot and us consumers?

It was 5 stars until it wasn't
I bought just over 300 bags of this mulch from two locations: Rockwall & Garland Texas. First 30 bags from Rockwall & I experienced a lot of what many complain about, a few huge chunks of wood in the mulch. Rockwall ran out so off to Garland to get more. The 240 bags from there were the exact pristine perfect mulch as advertised, beautiful stuff! I went back to Rockwall & got 40 more bags. TRASH! It's pine bark mulch in a different bag. You can easily see the difference.

Mold in some bags
The was some white mold in the bags with red labels which were probably from last year if I had to guess. It's better then the orange fungus I get in the mulch from the local supply yard but would expect more from bagged mulch.

2 different colors
I bought 15 bags of brown mulch and let’s just say they weren’t all brown, which I did buy all brown bags. You can clearly see a difference in the colors but I tried to blend the colors the best I could. Otherwise I’m happy so far with the mulch.

wood chunks, not mulch
I suggest buying one bag and empty it out to see if it will work for you.many of these hunks of wood will not decay in five years. If I were in a resitential neighborhood trying to make my flower beds look good I would return the 40 bags I haven’t opened. My main purpose for buying this is to keep water from evaporating in my wife’s native flower garden and I’m hoping after the first rain I’m not left with just large sticks and chunks

Worst mulch I’ve ever purchased
I bought 40 bags of this premium mulch. I made three trips buying this premium brown mulch. The first 10 bags I bought were actually mulch the wood was mulched up. The last 30 bags had such large hunks of sticks and branches it was so hard to lay the mulch there was so much large branches what a rip off!!!!!!!

Premium? Not even close to!
This stuff is horrible - do not buy it! Every bag had huge chucks of wood or sticks. I bought 20 bags of this crap and regret it. Should've known better when some of the bags had sticks popping through them at the store. Fool me once - shame on you! There will not be a twice.
