I didn’t get the mulch that I ordered. I wanted Vigoro because I’ve used their products before and like/trust their qaulity. The Vigoro brand can be found in the store but I was shipped an off brand (IPC). I need more mulch but can’t find the brand that was sent so now I have to compare rubber mulch types to match what I have. It took three weeks to get my order delivered. I should have picked up from my home store.

We apologize for any confusion! When ordering this item, you will not receive bags stating the "Vigoro" name brand. You will obtain generic bags listing "Nuggets" on the front. However, the contents of the Vigoro bags you see in store and the material received in generic bags will be the same. We hope this provides some clarification.

was delivered and placed on the road
Had no issues with the item, it was well packed. The only issue was that when it was delivered, it was just left on the road, which could have been easily hit by incoming vehicles if we hadnt rushed home to move it before it got dark.

Thank you for your feedback! These deliveries are curbside. Depending on your area, that can mean at the very end of a driveway near the street. Because the carriers require someone to be present to sign for the material, we recommend moving the mulch to the desired location at that time. If the carrier did not contact you to set up an appointment so you were present for the delivery, please let us know at imccs@imcoutdoorliving.com.

Dangerous for kids
We spent a small fortune ($700ish) covering our playground with this stuff a year ago. What others have said is true: you see long strands, huge chunks, and pieces of tread. This week, we began reading about the dangerous chemicals in Vigoro’s recycled tire mulch. Do your homework. We are now having to pull it all out to go with a non-toxic option. Huge waste of time and money. This stuff is not for kids. The US EPA should do a better job of protecting US citizens and banning this stuff.

Wrong color and busted bags
I reordered 25 bags of what was supposed to be black recycled rubber mulch. We’re in a drought and we recently moved in and the plant beds needed attention. The mulch delivered is expresso brown. We spread it anyway and now i have 2 colors of mulch, black across the front and brown on the sides and back. 3 of the bags on bottom had burst open.

NOT PLAYGROUND SAFE!
DO NOT PURCHASE this for a children's playground. IT IS DANGEROUS! After one of our children started crying, we found that there are sharp pieces of rusty metal embedded throughout numerous pieces of the rubber.

Its shredded and dyed tires. That being said, the dye bleeds on clothing and hands. The bags are light and easy to handle. Each bag covers roughly the same area as the bag itself, it doesn't really fluff up much. It does the job.

Playground Mulch
Love this mulch for under playground. Grandbaby loves the bouncy feel as she runs across it. Color is darker green than expected but still looks nice.

Vigoro Red Mulch labeled is actually Brown with Black rubber exposed.
The color of the mulch was not red and not dyed evenly, black rubber mostly exposed as black.

This mulch appeared to already be several years old. Color is grayish .couple of bags were already open on top of the 50 bag pile. I have bought other black rubber mulch and you can can see the difference.

Excellent product
As another reviewer stated, if it's in your budget this product is a worthwhile upgrade over wood mulch and worth the premium.
One thing that doesn't come across in the pictures is the sheen of this product, it has a very eye pleasing, always wet look and walking on it feels like trekking across an alien landscape. If used as playground fill your kids will love it.
The manufacturer suggest no weed barrier, just spray a pre-emergent and lay down the mulch. So that's what I did, as pictured.

Very disappointed with color of green mulch
When the mulch arrived, it looked mostly black with a slight tint of green (see photo). I am very disappointed; the mulch color does not look like the picture on the Home Depot site. I waited since Oct 2021 to April 2022 to get the green mulch because it was out of stock.

So far so good!
So far so good. I just recently put down the rubber mulch, but already am pleased. I love the fact that it stays black, which is great contrast to the green lawn. We've had strong winds and rain lately and the rubber stays in place...a much improvement over wood mulch that starts flowing away with the rain.

Fair price and decent quality
There is a pretty strong tire smell upon opening the bags but I don’t notice it now after a few days! 1 pallet gave us enough mulch to go under a climbing dome and most of our front yard project as well! Shipping was faster then it quoted! Would buy again

Metal pieces
Though Home Depot went over and beyond to try and resolve the issue I would not recommend this particular rubber mulch. Everyday we continuously found metal sticking out of rubber causing it to even puncture through shoes. Do not order this if your using for a playground.

METAL STAPLES/WIRE IN RUBBER
Have had three pieces of rubber mulch become lodged in me and my child’s foot because of sharp exposed metal pieces. Gave them the benefit of the doubt after the first two but it has happened too many times now. Bought around 50 bags and am very disappointed.
