I think my Vornado 630 is about 4 years old and runs as smoothly and quietly as ever. As you can tell from my pic, Sammy, my Corgi, just LIVES in the wake of the Vornado. He'd give you "5 Tails Up"...if he HAD one.

This is the best fan, I have two of them and they are fantastic .

Use in 20' x 30' front room and works great, 70 feet away not so much of a breeze, but up to 25 feet works great. Very tough, I accidentally dropped this from my 3 foot tall stand (see pic) onto carpeted floor and thought oh no it's done for, but it did no harm to it at all. Over 8 years old now. I use it every day and still runs like new. I've had lots of other fans from Holmes Lasko etc etc (it does get hot down in San Diego) and while they worked good for a while NONE have lasted like this fan has. It's not cheap but if you want a quality American made fan that will last a lifetime this Vornado imho is it.

Wow I had done research about these fans but price caused me to scrimp and I bought a knockoff fan. It was very loud and did not circulate the air in our bedroom, you had to aim the fan at you to feel the cooling effect. So that fan found its way back to HD. Today I brought home the real Vornado 9" fan. Oh my gosh what a difference it makes. When we got home our room was very warm and I turned on our new Vornado and turned down the Tstat 1 degree. About 30 minutes later my wife says I am cold, so I bumped the Tstat back up. The Vornado is pointing up to the corner of our room and we feel air flow all over, our arms, feet,legs head everywhere. I am very impressed and pleased with our new fan and it is so quiet. I am running on the middle speed and it is more quiet than the knockoff was on low speed. We are very happy with this purchase and know that you really do get what you pay for. Thank you Vornado for a great product. It is worth the extra money that it costs.

From past experience with the smaller version of the Vornado fan, I had very few qualms about buying this product. I purchased (2) whole-room fans and with both running at the same time, the noise level is practically nil. Air movement @ 25 Ft. is very noticeable and consistent. I'll have these two fans for quite some time.... the quality is excellent!

I needed something small to move air on the first floor of my house. This does the job with ease and has three speeds. I run it at night on high to keep air moving, the lowest speed is kind of loud, but i still run when i am watching TV.

This is a classic Vornado fan and performs as expected, moving lots of air quietly. It has a familiar design we know from these fans. What I don't like is the power control knob is small and fussy. If you have dexterity issues or arthritis I could see its size being an accessibility issue. It actually feels flimsy and I'm worried will break off in the future. Also the power cord is a few feet shorter than that on an older "small" Vornado fan that I used to own. This makes it harder to position in a room. I'm actually considering returning this fan for an upgraded model for these reasons.

These are the best fans. Got one in 2007 and it finally died. Got another one a few months ago and now I have two more. They circulate the air great and helps keep the house cool. Very powerful. Now I know I can get them directly from the company.

This is the best fan ever: quiet but powerful; compact yet effective.

The low setting is a quiet but consistent air mover, the high setting is a white noise machine that fills the room with a full, steady breeze. A little pricey for a simple fan, but they know they have a good product so they are gonna pinch you for it...

On a recent camping trip, some friends brought this fan to help with a hot stuffy cabin. I couldn't believe how quiet it was, but how much air it moved. Ordered it immediately when we got home. Shipped and arrived in a timely manner. Well worth the extra price for such a solid piece of equipment.

This item replaces the same model I had for 11 years which would still be running (almost continuously) if the cord hadn't become loose (most likely caused by my tripping over it over the years while moving it around the apartment). With a little more care on my part I look forward to another decade or so of reliable operation with this new unit.

I bought this "whole room air circulator" and used it in my small bedroom. It works well from a few feet away from my bed, but it does not cool a whole room! It's just a fan, basically, a good fan but at $65 too pricey. Anyone thinking, as I was, that this is a low cost alternative to an A/C can forget it ! The youtube videos on this product and the manufacturer's blurbs overstate the capability of this product to say the least.

For the price, this fan should not have any faults. However, a couple of weeks after purchase, a small clicking noise can be heard when turned on at the lowest level. Other reviews I have seen mention a cheaper build quality and this appears to be the case. Also, higher fan levels are loud.

Good room coverage and quiet for the amount of air it moves. More pleasant ‘draft’ created than an oscillating fan.

The Vornado is marvelous, it works better than regular fans.

The fan arrived completely assembled which was great. The fan blows cool air. I am satisfied with the purchase.

I like the performance, with it's quiet operation. This is my 3rd Vornado. I am a fan. The broken one was caused by my cat chewing the wire. I am sending it back to Vornado.
