Came just about ready right out of the box. This is my first miter saw and it was a good one to start with. The price was right and the features are just what I needed. Already used it for moldings and laminate flooring.

After a week of light use cutting trim, the bolt holding the saw blade on came loose. Unfortunately, the only way to get to the bolt would mean stripping a screw. Called Wen and left a message but call was never returned. Very disappointed.

It is a good saw for the hobby enthusiast. After adjusting the angle indicators the saw was spot on. Sensitive tools can get jostled around during shipment so expect to make minor adjustments here or there. I would recommend this saw to anyone who needs a good all around saw for their home shop.

Excellent saw. Great features, more extras than some comparable saws, great price.

Seems as if this machine was put together as an afterthought. Right out of the box, the blade guard drags across the table. The only way to adjust is to lessen the depth of the cut. Not practical. The fence cannot be made square. The blade has play in it while you're cutting. Etc.

Piece of junk! Don't buy it.

Accurate, well made, adequate for non commercial use. As recommended by the manufacturer, it is crucial to screw it down to a work table or bench to make it stable.

The arm just doesn't feel sturdy plus it's a couple degrees off on all cuts so be careful and mind your line because you won't get a true read from the dial. It's fine for a project or two but if I had it to do over I'd have spent a little more and went another route.

I purchased thr 8 1/4 saw from home depot and am very disappointed brushes wore out after a few uses and now cant find teplacement parts. I wish Home depot would refund my money.

So far it has performed well although it's only been a few days since I've had it. It's how long will it perform that matters.

This saw is small and compact, but packed with power. It is a great addition to the shop.

this saw is a good price for your money with a few good features too

I have been in the carpentry business for 20 years and I have never been so disappointed in a power toll than this saw . Right out of the box it was cutting out of square . So after squaring the box stop / fence ( or so I thought ) with a 2x4 . I proceeded to cut the 1x6 material for my project ,utilizing the slide feature for the cuts . Unfortunately after making all the cuts did I realize they were all about a degree out of square ! After trying to adjust the back stop again . It looked like I had it ..... NOPE! bCome to find out during my trails that it's the head of the saw .... It has play in it ! Meaning if you were to tug ,ever so slightly, in one direction or the other , while coming down on the board ,it was cutting out of square! Also,the positive stop has play in it , it doesn't lock down at 90 degrees even after tightening , so it wanders throwing the cut off as well . I also had to fine tune the bevel as well.

I've only had it for a short while but it works real good so far, and is light.

Take it from the box, plug it in, and use it. That simple...
