I would recommend this bench grinder. Minimal vibration and good quality

I’ve known for quite some time that I needed a bench grinder, but until I got this one I never knew how handy they really were. This is a 6 inch bench grinder by WEN Company and it uses a half inch arbor to mount the grinding wheels or wire brushes or sanding wheels (whatever you prefer). It comes with two gringa stones already mounted. I used this recently to sharpen an ax and it was so much quicker than by hand. I used the rougher wheel on the first passed and the smoother wheel for the second pass. It works really well and it’s a smooth quiet operation. It comes fully assembled except for the guides and safety shields which are simple to install.

Nice compact 6 inch bench grinder that I plan on using to sharpen up my tools in my garage. It comes with a general purpose 60-grit wheel and a more coarse 36-grit wheel. These wheels get up to speed quick and worked great on my general purpose chisels. It is not terribly loud when operating all by itself. Comes with the standard eye guards and tool rest which are each adjustable. Definitely recommend!

WEN 2.1 Amp 6 in. Bench Grinder is a great bench grinder for home or shop. I am moving into a new home and so when the Home Depot Seeds offered this bench grinder I knew it would be the perfect addition to my new garage. I ordered and the grinder was promptly shipped. It arrived well packaged. The first thing I have to share is the awesome letter I received when I opened the box from the company thanking me for participating in the product offerings, standing behind their product, and wanting to know how well the product works for me. Wen is one of the few companies who participate in the Home Depot Seeds program to do this, and it is a very nice touch. The grinder has some heft to it. The grinder is equipped with two grinding wheels. One is a coarse 36 Grit, while the other is a 60 Grit Medium. Each grinding wheel has a face shield. The face shields are adjustable with locking knobs. Even so, one must use care when utilizing the grinder. There are also spark deflectors to protect you. From the 4 o'clock to 1 o'clock position there are wheel covers which prevent anything getting snagged on the wheel while spinning. There are also inner wheel covers to protect the discs. Both wheels have adjustable tool rests to assist you in sharpening/polishing. The stones are 6 x 3/4 inch, with a 1/2 inch arbor size. The base has bolt holes to secure the housing to the bench. The grinder is not overly loud. It does the job. I highly recommend this WEN 6" Grinder. It will handle every job you have from tools, to lawn mower blades, and more. The small footprint, powerful motor, and versatile features of this bench grinder are a welcome replacement for my older larger grinder. At only 12" wide (actually a bit wider if you count the adjustable eye protectors), and 8" deep it frees up a lot of precious workbench space. I have ,so far, used it to sharpen my large hedge lopper, steel blades on my power trimmer/edger, and hand chisels. The 36 grit wheel quickly removes nicks and the 60 grit wheel smooths it out. Improved grinder design allows far fewer sparks to reach my bench than my older machine and my face (and eyes) are much better protected. When I received this grinder the left 36 grinding wheel was a bit out of balance so I called Wen Customer service. With minimal phone wait time I reached a knowledgeable person who quickly resolved my issue and my grinder is now working perfectly. Wen not only makes quality products, they really back them up.

A great little compact 6" bench grinder . As compared to some of my older models with much larger motors... but dating back 20 and 40 years.. this one seems to be so much better "balanced". It also appears to have all the power of the larger ones as well.. I appreciate the knurled thumb-knobs that adjust both the platform and the safety window without the need for tools. The spark arrest-or is also a nice added feature I have not seen on others. Simple, but effective!

The Wen 6" 2.1a bench grinder works great! Have used it to sharpen my own plus a number of neighbors lawn mower blades. I am very impressed with this unit!

excellent and strong running .

Use this for sharpening carving knives and gouges. I removed the wheels that came with the product and installed wheels designed for carving tools. The Wen product meets my needs

Seems to work well for what I need it for. Basic and does not have speed adjustment but good for most grinding needs.

I don’t know why there are so many bad comments. Honestly, no one is paying me, but the equipment is very good and many comments repeat that it doesn’t have strength. Rather easy to use, pretty hefty so it doesn't shake the stand it's on, it's extremely fast although it takes 5 seconds to get to full speed. Definitely the best one for the least amount of money.

and this thing is pretty wimpy, I mean for the price what do you expect, starts up slow and once it builds up it doesn't take much to knock it back down, however it's perfectly fine for sharpening mower blades or small tasks, I wouldn't try any major metal working with it that's for sure. seems to vibrate a lot though, I took the grinding wheels completely off and it didn't vibrate at all so I'm guessing it's just the grinding wheels are not balanced well and pretty cheap. so you probably want to put on good quality grinding wheels which after adding the cost of this machine in new grinding wheels together you could just buy a decent one in the first place. as for mine, it's going back because I don't feel it's worth the $55...$20 maybe...but not $55

Works as advertised. Only complaint is the mounting holes are directly in the center and are hard to reach.

Needs to have a way to hold the motor shaft still so you can tighten the wheel nut. One nut should play against the other.
