So far so good. Size bushings were snug so no wobble. No fly away wires yet. We'll see how it lasts but I would recommend the wheel at this point.

This wire wheel fit my old bench grinder perfectly thanks to the variety of drive shaft adapters that are supplied. The wheel performs well for removing rust, and prepping metal for welding and it doesn’t shed the steel bristles when in use. The wheel comes with five pairs of different sized bushing adapters which fit drive shafts of the following diameter: ½”, 5/8”, ¾”, 7/8” and 1”. Without the adapter, the hole in the wire wheel measures 1 1/4". Since the bushing adapters are a snug fit on the drive shaft, I found it easiest to slide the inside bushing onto the grinder drive shaft and then slide the wire wheel on as opposed to fitting the bushing into the wire wheel and sliding the wheel onto the drive shaft. I can highly recommend this wire wheel if you are replacing the wheel on your grinder.

ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION !! The Home Depot has a fine wire brush here ! The 6 inch by 3/4 inch wire wheel is of a medium coarseness that is good for rust and paint removal ! The spiral shaped wires are tinned a gold color so as not to rust as bad ! I comes with plenty of adapters to fit a wide range of arbor sizes ! Always rotate it in the same direction as wires can break. Great wire wheel !!

This wire wheel from Wen Industries is a beauty to behold. The wires are .011 (eleven thousandths) inches in diameter for maximum removal of rust, weld splatter, edges needing deburred, just about anything that needs cleaning up, metal-wise. I don't know the count on how many individual wires there are mounted on the hub, but there's a lot of them! It would last a long time! This wire wheel comes with 6 arbor adapters, starting with 1 1/4" down to 1/2” so if you own an off-brand or a Wen or in my case, a Craftsman bench grinder, this wheel will fit any 6" bench grinder. I can't wait to get this baby on my Craftsman 6". You won't be disappointed if you decide to purchase this Wen wire wheel with it's universal hub adapters.

The wheel is not uniform in diameter. It hits the bolts holding the side guard & will NOT turn! Its out of balance which causes the grinder to vibrate quite a bit. This can Not be good for the Arbor bearings, stress which can cause heat. I'm not overly impressed with this wheel truthfully. Jon Peters

Noisy and out of round/ warped but works

Seems like a quality wheel, which is well balanced and comes with a myriad of bushings, but the bristles are so tightly bundled (or the wire itself is just so coarse) that it's difficult to work them into something like deep bolt threads to clean them out properly. I find myself having to push excessively hard against the wheel to get the wires to dig in properly, which could be damaging to what you're cleaning, especially on softer metals. The wheel might have its uses in certain situations, but for most of my needs I can't really use it.

Would not fit centered. The plastic bushings doesn't work. This is the 3rd one i bought. Can't find any that fit 😕

The wheel is too large to fit the very bench grinder it’s designed for. The cheap plastic inserts are flimsy and the brush expands and makes constant contact with the guard on both sides. Complete trash.

Easy assembly, plug it in and go. Perfect for my usage. Really quiet and efficient.
