Easy to use Easy to clean
This is basically a reverse vacume cleaner with a spray bottle. Have had mine for years and absolutely love it. Perfect for painting my exterior house and my deck several times now. This is not for painting your car or other fine work, but if you want to paint your house or deck and get it done quickly without alot of hassle this is the tool for you! Also thin the paint with water if water based paint or stain. Clean up is easy just run sine water thru it ans its clean, no soaking or scrubing or disassembling.

    Much better than I expected
I was looking for something to paint the underside of an open carport, about 20' x 20' with exposed rafters - lots of surface area and tricky corners. I researched a number of DIY sprayers, and it seemed like none of them actually had astounding ratings (I'm thinking there's a good deal of user-error to blame) but kept coming back to this one. I'm really glad I did. Easy to assemble, I tested it with water first, and it within 5 mins I was ready to start painting. The sprayer worked great, but you do have to follow directions and spray between 6 and 8 inches away, otherwise the dispersal is too great. Great coverage, minimal noise and very little hand-tool weight made the job easy. 4 gallons of paint and 3 hours later, the project was done. Very minimal overspray. 15' hose made moving around easy - and the paint reservoir held just enough to not be weighty, while reducing trips to the paint bucket. Downside: the hose ripped when I was being a little rough pulling it through ladder rungs, but the fitting is threaded, so I cut off the damaged part of the hose, screwed it into the fitting, added some duct tape to secure it, and I was back at it. The nozzle did get a little clogged when I took a 15 minute break, but it's paint: I expect it to dry. Unscrew the nozzle, spray a hose into it, and pop - right back in and hard at work. I was able to clean it in about 10 mins with water and paint thinner. Looking forward to retreating a deck and shutters with it later this year - love this tool.

The paint station saved me time and paint with = money! I used the station to paint a large covered porch and a large deck. A project that would normally take a few weekends with rollers and brushes was done in just one. The system has a lot of great features......from the spray dial which controls the amount of paint that is applied, the pattern dial which is simple but very functional (turn the dial horizontal for left to right painting strokes; vertical for up and down painting strokes), the air volume control that can be set to spray at high or low volume. It took a couple of minutes before I could dial each of these settings in to get the spray that I wanted, but once I did, it was easy as pie! One pass with high air volume covered a full 6 inch decking board without having to make two passes. Painting rails which is a pain was done with ease when setting the air level to low. The rails were covered with little overspray and all corners and crevices were fully covered. Just imagine how many time you would have to dip your roller or brush to cover a 16ft decking board and how much wasted paint drip you would have when painting corners and cracks . It literally took me less than a minute to paint one board without wasting excess paint. There are downsides and some things that did not go as well. One is having to take the time to mask, but that comes with any spray painting job. Other things that I discovered was when adjusting the spray tip angle, you must turn it clockwise to keep from loosening the tip. If the tip loosens, the paint will start to sputter and drip. Another thing I had to do was to keep a cloth handy. After about 15 minutes of use, the spray tip accumulates paint that will need to be wiped away. If not, the paint will not spray as good. I'm very satisfied with this product and am preparing for my next project at this very moment.

I am very pleased with this product .it does exactly what I need it to. I am refinishing all the furniture in my house. I was using the smaller home decor model. (which broke) I replaced it with this one, and I'm in love. I wish I had this one the whole time. Its very easy to use, I love the different spray options, easy to clean. Does a great job for the price.

      Better than I expected
I bought this sprayer to paint the ceiling of my unfinished basement. I used a good quality latex paint that was an eggshell black. I was a little leary about the thickness because it was one of the thickest paints I have ever worked with, but from the time I first pulled the trigger until I was done, this sprayer worked like a charm. It layed on an even coat and had no trouble at all spraying paint as thick as I was using. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to do my entire basement ceiling and I went through only two gallons of paint. Very pleased with the finished results. The sprayer was easy to set up after reading through the instructions, and I never had to change the initial settings that I dialed in. Cleanup was a bit tedious, but they did a great job of minimizing the parts, so it went very well. I expected the cleanup to be a pain, just because it's a paint sprayer. Seemed like a given to me. Can't wait to have to use it again.

      OH YEA!!!
This thing is slicker than snail snot!! I prayed a 40 foot fence with Kilz Latex, straight out of the bucket, 2 coats, front and back in 3 hours total. I absolutely DESPISE painting, and this made it totally enjoyable. The awnings and garage are next. Clean up was easy with this thing only having 1 seal and just a few other parts. They really nailed it with this thing.

What a difference a great sprayer makes!
We just remodeled our kitchen and repainted the cabinets, plus built and painted a large island. What a pleasure it was to be able to paint it beautifully with this sprayer. So glad we bought it! My boyfriend is very careful, though, to make sure all the paint is out of all of the little pieces and parts so that we keep it in great shape for our next project!

      Excellent Tool
Worked out great. Bought it to stain/paint deck. Sprayer does a good job with the vertical & horizontal settings, specially for deck railings. For a first time user I am impressed. Unit has good power. Got the whole job done in couple of hours. The prep time & post cleanup is time consuming. Ready for next project...

Worked well with VERY thick paint
I am currently painting the bilge of my wooden boat. The special bilge paint is oil-based and very thick. The manufacturer recommends NOT thinning the paint, even for spraying. I wasn't sure this unit would be able to evenly spray such nasty paint. Setup was easy and I worked my way through the instructions. I tested it out on some cardboard. The temperature was about 50F, so the paint was even thicker than usual. There was some spattering but I figured I'd push ahead on a small area on the boat. I laid down about 20 square feet in just a few minutes. The spattering evened out and the paint turned out better than the areas I rolled and brushed. The paint settled down nicely. I was painting both the "wall" and the "floor" of the inside of the boat. The gun never missed a beat as I transitioned between the two surfaces. This is the first time I've ever used a small sprayer like this. I have only used a commercial airless rig when painting interiors of houses. I didn't think this sprayer was going to be able to move this thick paint, but I was very pleased. I'm going to get the rest of the boat prepped and masked, and I bet it only takes a half-hour or so to shoot the whole thing. It would take me several hours to get all the nooks and crannies with a brush and roller. Cleanup was pretty easy with mineral spirits, if a bit messy. The unit comes apart and there aren't really any hard to reach areas especially with a spray bottle of mineral spirits. Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase.

Perfect for outdoor painting! Doors, Fences, Mailboxes, etc.
I found this very easy to use, however it requires a lot of prep time covering up everything which I don’t have to do when using a paint roller other than just using tape here and there, but with this you will need to cover up a larger area if using indoors. The tool is light because of its design with the motor that just sits on the floor rather than hand carried. The hose is long enough to allow for various projects while leaving the motor in one place. I painted an interior wall and it worked great, other than having to cover up a larger area than I usually do with a roller, I felt it was worth the time since it gave a more even coverage. It looked like one coat with this sprayer was equivalent to two coats with a roller, but it will vary depending on how much paint you use. I would suggest testing in a smaller area until you have the setting that you like best for the type of paint and project you are working on. These are easy to switch while painting. I can’t wait until the weather gets better so I can paint my garage door as I feel this sprayer will be more suitable for outdoor painting such as a fence, mailbox, garage door or entry door. I will definitely be using this for many painting projects this summer.

Good paint sprayer for a DIYer
I was excited to find a sprayer that is self contained - meaning I don't need to hook it up to a compressor. My first project (which you'll see in the attached picture) was to paint a new mailbox post. The sprayer did a good job, and it only took two coats to get the job done. I was surprised to find the "turbine" (as they call it) has two settings which controls the amount of paint being sprayed. I would say small projects, such as painting a mailbox post, are probably not an ideal application for the sprayer, though. The surface area that I was spraying was so small that there was a lot of overspray that hit my drop cloth. I think good projects would be those with large surface areas. I agree with the other reviewers that the cleanup took just as long as the actual painting, and it's not something you can skip or procrastinate on because the paint will dry inside the sprayer which would be a nightmare to fix. Also, it's not easy to get all of the leftover paint back into the paint can when you're finished due the shape of the sprayer's cup/reservoir. I felt like I washed away a lot of good paint. If I were painting my whole house I wouldn't really care, but it's not worth it to dump so much paint out for a small project such as painting my mailbox post. Overall I was pleased with the product and I would recommend it, especially to those who don't own a compressor.

      All You Need
The Paintready station by Wagner is all you'll need for you to paint like a pro. The easy to assemble paint gun is just as easy to use. It can be used inside or out. It sprays water or oil based paints quickly and smoothly. The ispray nozzle is the key to unlock a professional finish. it is easily adjustable and gives you great control. The spray width lever adjusts for spraying wide or narrow streams. It is a compact, lightweight spray gun for maximum flexibility. The material flow control adjusts flow rate for coating speed and project size. I recommend the paintready station by Wagner, it will easily handle any size job quickly and is fun to use. I was pleasantly surprised by the fast clean up. I would recommend this product to any level painter, and am sure you'll be satisfied with the professional finish.

      Does the job paint sprayer
I never used a sprayer before, but thought I'd try the Wagner PaintREADY Station HVLP Sprayer for an interior room paint project. I boned up on videos from the Internet and asked friends for advice. For someone whose used mostly rollers and brushes this did look more intimidating, but I jumped into it. The instruction manual was the most important information. I easily got comfortable with all the sprayer parts yet in reading it it seemed involved. Actually, once you do a project it all falls into place. The trick is to cover up everything from the over spray that is not being painted. I had plenty of plastic sheeting from Home Depot which easily handled this prep work. The next was to play with the gun for a while to get comfortable. Since I was using latex paint, I loaded the first paint cup with plain water and practiced the painting techniques explained in the manual. I then taped some brown craft paper to a wall and used real paint. Definitely take this step to check all the settings of air pressure and paint volume to get a good pattern. After gaining confidence, I tackled the for real work. To my surprise the unit worked flawlessly and put a thin layer of paint where I pointed, holding and releasing the trigger at each pass. Some plastic covering flew off in the middle of painting, releasing the trigger stopped the paint, no mess or panic. It turns out spraying was the easiest part of the job went fast and I felt in control all the time. An important part of using a sprayer is once finished the clean up. The sprayer comes apart and the head has six small parts. I used a trick and got a long wire tie and threaded all these small parts together and put them along with other stuff in a water pail so as not to lose anything. I then got a toothbrush and rag and cleaned off all the latex paint and bits that had started drying. Its important to clean all this as the bits could jam the spray head on the next job and cause problems spraying. It was tedious, but not difficult work. I say it took me as long to clean out the unit as spray the walls which was quick. I'm impressed with the unit and will add it along with my paint brushes when I have to paint around the house. It worked super well in painting my mud room with all the pipes from the boiler and electrical stuff. This would have taken forever to get in all the crannies with a brush, but the sprayer was just a simple pass as if painting a wall. I'd say this kind of surface and stretches of flat walls are its strong points. Glad I got the Wagner PaintREADY Station HVLP Sprayer.

      GREAT product
I have used a couple other "power painters" in the past with ok results. This one is far above the other ones. Having the motor for the air not in the handle makes it much lighter to hold, and the adjustments available make it VERY user friendly. The only issue I had with it was that the paint seemed to splatter at first, causing a few bumps. I found that if you start a little farther away from the wall then move in closer(about 12-15 inches) it didn't do it. I also had one pretty good size run (my fault) because I couldn't see my pattern and used it horizontally and then swept the gun from right to left and back again. I was using a very similar color to what was there before and it was kind of difficult to see with the reflection of the light in the room. I also had a lot of paint clouding the room so I would HIGHLY recommend wearing a mask while using this product. I used masking paper to mask off the ceiling 12in from the wall and around the windows and doors in the room which worked out well. Cleaning the gun took a fair amount of time, but isn't that difficult as long as you take it completely apart. There are a couple smaller parts so be careful to not lose them. All in all I would recommend this product. It was very easy to use and saves a lot of time. Would have been 5 stars if it didn't have so many parts to clean.

      Great DIY Sprayer
The system is very easy to use. The plastic housing around the compressor, hose and sprayer doesn’t give it a good first impression, but it works. I set the system up with latex house paint (not thinned), painted my garage door and cleaned the system. From start to finish it probably took 30-45 minutes. System is very easy to use. I ran the system on number 2 since the paint was on the thick side and it made the garage door look new. I tried spraying the paint on horizontally and vertically. I tried the sprayer with wide and narrow spray. All are easy to change on the fly. I could tell there was a little more texture when not putting out as much paint compared to more paint. While I was painting, there was a cross breeze most of the time and there was very little over spray. Cleanup was a breeze. Even the paint that got on the sprayer from the overspray, just wiped right off. Very surprised at how easy it is to use and cleanup. My next test will be the finish coat on my next wood project. I wish the system would have come with a case to keep all the small parts with the system, but that’s not enough to give it a bad or not so good review. Also don’t step on the hose. It’s a thin plastic hose so when I stepped on it the sprayer stopped putting out paint since no pressure was getting to the sprayer. My mistake I was just having fun painting.

Works Great For Fine Woodworking Finishes
I have used the Wagner Control Spray Plus for about 2 years to spray water-based lacquer onto guitars. The finish must be flawless and to my delight, the Wagner does the trick for far less money than a pro-level HVLP system. I plan to purchase the same sprayer when my current one wears out, but even after almost daily use, it works like it did the day I bought it.

There are a few things you can do to paint/stain to ensure it sprays well.
1 - Stir the paint/stain with a mixer in a drill until its creamy smooth, about 1 min per gallon
2 - Strain the paint/stain before it goes into the sprayer
3 - Add a flow agent, like Floetrol or Paint Easy (this is not a thinner) for latex paint – Penetrol for oil based
4 - Or you can thin, even as little as 5% can make a big difference, water for water based materials and mineral spirit for oil based material. WagnerSprayTech

Great little sprayer for the DIY er!
My son and I are repainting the exterior of my house. After using a roller the last time, I decided to try this sprayer. What an amazing product! It covers beautifully, using Lowe’s exterior latex paints. And what a time saver. It is a Florida stucco home and the sprayer really fills in all the little crevices evenly. ( unlike a roller) The most important thing is to completely clean the sprayer when you are done for the day and frequently wipe the tip of the nozzle with a damp cloth while using. This is my son’s first time using a paint sprayer and quickly mastered it. My only regret with this sprayer is that I waited so long before getting it!

                  Disappointing
I was thrilled to get this sprayer, but that soon turned to disappointment. It worked fine for the first five or so minutes, aside from a difficult trigger, but that’s when the fun started. First, the two-piece trigger snapped without warning or any undue pressure. Okay, I can try spraying with the nub. Then it started spraying blobs. It looked like I was spraying small-curd cottage cheese with the thinest paint possible. I could go on, but I’ll spare you. This thing was awful. I brushed over the sprayed paint and finished with that brush. Then I cleaned the machine, packed it, and returned it to the store. I’d have been better off with a can of spray paint.

Bought this sprayer about a month ago, to repaint my deck railing. The wood spindles are a pain to paint by hand, so I thought a sprayer would simplify the project. Read the specs to ensure that this sprayer could handle a very thick exterior paint. The first part of the project went smoothly, but once I paused spraying, the nozzle would gunk up. Learned that I needed to reclean the nozzle after a work break to move ladders, put up masking panels, etc. Cleaning the whole system at the end of the day takes awhile. The new day, the sprayer would work well until the first break. Found that when I would stop spraying and turn off the turbine, the built up pressure would continue to push paint through the nozzle, wasting paint and creating a big mess. Called technical support, their suggestions where to check the label on the paint, to ensure that I was within the specs for the sprayer (the paint was), also to check the valve assembly to make sure that it was properly snugged down.
