This is a nice, sturdy railing. The columns fit nicely over 4x4s. The spindles will fit in the the railings at an angle to match the pitch of your stairs. They can be cut to length to match building codes from the top rail height. The railing have a metal insert for strength. The end brackets for the railings will accept the railings at an angle to match the rail pitch. You will need to cut the rail and metal insert to the proper angle to match up to the columns. The cuts should allow even spacing of the spindles. You will want less then 4" from the last spindle to the column.

Overall, a well designed and produced stair railing. The brackets and the trims are much better than those on the straight railing sections, but could still use a little improvement. I can't comment on longevity yet, as they have been in place for only a month or so. Having built a number of decks over the years, I can say that this product is far better than stick-building the railings and then dealing with painting every year or two!

Much easier to assemble than the STRAIGHT railings, due to the end caps of the stairway railing FITTING! When I tried to put up the straight railings first, I found that the 2-piece end caps did not fit together and left a 1/8-inch gap. I contacted Weatherables and they contacted Home Depot and I received NEW end caps from Home Depot that were the correct fitting end caps. Other than that, I had no issues with assembling this product. I used Weatherables steel post system for the posts, which were extremely expensive, but SOLID when installed and I will never have to worry about wood rot.

I like the finished product. It really looks nice and you can pretty much tailor it to fit your needs. I installed mine against vinyl siding (recessed) and it may not really made for that. It does require a lot of measuring and fitting to get it just right, but like I said you can cut and trim to fit what you want.

The results are well worth the work required to install the railing. It adds a lot to the curb appeal! Installing the railing is not exactly an easy task. Because I have to worry about frost, I had to dig 4' holes for the polls. I used 8' 4x4x and poured concrete around them. Once the poll sleeves are installed, you will need to mark the rails for cutting. Double check the measurements, and make sure you take them at the height the rails will be installed at. Unless your polls are perfectly plumb, it will make a difference. You then need to subtract 3/4" from the horizontal distance for the brackets. If you do it right, the rails will drop into the brackets and rest on the lip on the bottom. For cutting the rails, a 12" compound miter saw works great. With a good carbide blade, you will cut the rail and the aluminum channel at the same time. One trick that help is to clamp the channel to the rail so it doesn't move when cutting. It likes to slide, and you don't want it to end up a different length then the rail. Because of the procession required, I would not recommend this as a biginner's project.

Son and grandson installed these. It was their first attempt at stairs rails. I'm so grateful and proud of the job they did. Looks great.

I ordered two stair railing kits. However, the top rail and the bottom rail I received had matching openings/sockets to receive the ends of the spindles that only lined up when the top rail and bottom rail were held horizontal. When placed at a 40 degree angle, the positioning of the top and bottom railings made the position of the openings to be offset from each other so they were no aligned vertically. The spindles could not be installed in both top and bottom rail openings. To install the spindles so they would look vertical, I placed the lower end of the spindle in an opening in the lower rail and cut the top end of the spindle at 40 degrees so it sat against the lower side of the upper railing (but not in the opening that it was supposed to go in). In doing so, the spindles are not anchored in the openings/sockets at both ends. I have not figured out how to anchor the top of the spindle to the top rail yet. Also, one spindle was missing.

The railing fits perfectly and looks just right for my stoop.

The stair railing was not as easy to assemble as the straight railing. It is very difficult to line up the uprights with the top rail, because the holes for the uprights are very tight fitting, I had to file the openings to get the uprights in.

Very happy. These are very good quality rails. Look great once installed. When installing the covers for the lower brace, pay close attention to the tabs inside that clip to the black bracket you mount to your post. They look identical at first but the tabs are on opposite ends of the covers.

Installation was fairly straight forward if you have decent construction skills. The railing is beautiful once installed, and seems quite sturdy. My only complaint is that I wish that the brackets were aluminum rather than plastic.

Worked well. I wish they would sell the components separately. Only needed the top railing and brackets to repair storm damage.

I don't know if I missed it or if it wasn't mentioned. But, I found out its was for stairs at a 30-40 degree angle. My stairs are at 54. I had to jury rig it to get it work. It was very difficult. I will give it this. The material seems to be good quality.
