I was excited to find another reusable filter! The one I have was purchased through the company that services my HVAC unit, and I love it - but I was utterly disappointed at what I got with the Web filter! Not only is it not square (the attached image shows it stood up behind my current filter, and you can see how off it is), but in trying to fit it in the spot the thing began to come apart! So, like some other reviewers have experienced, I have no doubt that it would not last more than a couple of rounds before it completely fell apart ... if I was even able to get it installed, which I cannot! I will be trying to return it to Home Depot, if they will take it back.

My house requires 2 filters.i bought 1 of these to try. I convinced whoever designed this very likely doesn't use it. I'm fairly mechanical. I designed and built most of the furniture in my house. I've restored classic cars. I designed and built the shed in my back yard. I enjoy wooden Chinese puzzles. 6 months ago I bought this and ended up putting it away until my assembly frustration cooled. Today was my second and last attempt at putting this together. It can be done but I'd recommend using duck tape along the edges to keep it together while you fight the frame. This also could be improved by redesigning the grid to match standard sizes of hvac filters so that the black grid had even smooth edges after being cut. In addition there should be a way to hold the mesh screens and the form filter together without the frame. I used duct tape. The tape also helped smooth the grid edge so it would be easier to tuck into the frame. I've spend about 2 hours trying to get it to work correctly. I ended up throwing this in the trash and would not recommend it to anyone.

Poor Quality, Filter came apart INSIDE my Furnace. Went to remove it and do the maintenance, found it had NO layers inside.. nothing, it got sucked back into my Furnace! Thank God it wasnt on HEAT (only AIR), I had to remove teh access panel and carefully detangle and remove the two inserts. Would NOT purchase again. Pic is what it is. BEWARE.

I opted to purchase this filter instead of going with our normal disposable filters last month (May 2020). We did no need to cut the filter as it already fit, but I did observe how one would cut it and put it back together and it seems straightforward. The only thing I don't love is that when the air kicks on, this filter seems to have a small gap where it gets sucked up and clicks against the metal in the intake, but this could be solved with a paper shim. This seems to work at least as well as our standard-grade disposable filters that we used to buy, and is holding up well against pet hair and dust. You will need 2 - one to be in the filter, one to be washed and dried. We rinse ours outside with a hose and then blow it out with an air compressor, and store it wrapped in a towel in a loosely cinched garbage bag in the garage so that it doesn't stay damp and is somewhat protected from debris and bugs.

This filter is junk ive had it in my furnace about a month and i went to pull out and clean it.well lets just say that wasnt a 2 min thing bc the filter opened inside and would not fit through the opening and i had to take the return apart to get it out.and to top all that off it looks brand new like the day i put it in which tells me it failed as a filter as well! Absolute garbage!

The filter is easy to install. I love the fact that I will save so much money by cleaning this filter once a month. I just take it out and replace with a paper filter, wash the filter and I let it dry for one week just to make sure its dry. Pop it back in system and that's it!

My metal frame to hold the filter can not tolerate the filter being oversize. The way this filter is manufactured, a joint if formed at one of the corners. Unfortunately, the way they make up this joint leaves the adjacent sides to longer than the opposing sides. Bottom line, it would not fit in my frame. I returned the first one, but when second one had the same problem, I had to cut the joint free and resecure it to match the opposing sides. It fits now. This is a simple problem that should be fixed at the factory.

a much better alternative to throwaway filters.

It may seem odd but this material works a million times better that the cheap filter material that breaks down. My 125 gallon tank looks great because of this material. I simply remove the grid (wife is a teacher and uses them at her school).

I bought this filter from the store while shopping for a replacement filter. The store recommended it, but when I got home I looked up reviews and read them. I then took my unopened, unadjusted filter and tried to inset it and saw that the 20" inches (my width) is 1/2 inch too narrow and would miss covering the vent opening by about 1/8 inch. When holding it next to my 20 x 20 filter I had in there it was 1/2 inch shorter! WOW, what a pain and why must it be? Can they not measure 20" inches? I will have to drive back to the store and buy something else. I would guess then every measurement when cut/adjusted to size would be off 1/2 inch! What...The........??!!

I have been using this reusable filter for ten years and only recently needed to replace it. The new filter is constructed of improved materials and even better than the one it replaced. All you have to do is remember to clean it once a month and it keeps on saving you money.

The package says it installs in minutes. Technically, 68 minutes is "minutes". The concept is a good one but the materials are garbage and cracked while I was trying to put the first two sides together. The four (4) button connectors that they give you to hold each two sides together are almost impossible to insert. I had to try a hammer. And though you only need four, it would have been nice to have a fifth one after the first button went flying somewhere in the room when it didn't go into the slots as designed. Cutting the grids that hold the filter inside the frame required a box cutter and a hard plastic cutting board. This was the part that cost the most time. Trimming the three filter layers wasn't quite as bad but once you cut the mesh, it catches on EVERYTHING including the filter. Finally putting everything together they say to connect only three of the four frame pieces; slide the trimmed filter layers into the frame and then connect the last two sides of the frame. I couldn't get the filter to stay in place so connected the fourth side and then tried to put the filter layers into the frame. When I tried to install it into the furnace, it didn't fit - the plastic of the frame was too wide for the furnace opening so I had to put the filter layers in without the frame. Tomorrow I'll go find the paper filters I've been using. They can keep this piece of garbage.

We really have not used it yet but I think it will work great

Practical, perfect fit and convenient because we will save money through the time.

Well made, easy to trim and will pay for itself within the year.

The price was more than I wanted to pay, but it was the the only one there. I ended up using the Frame I already had

not fun cutting to smaller sizes with size 18x24,difficult to find, now special order, this fits this need perfectly

A lot easier to clean than the metal washable filters.

This is my first time purchase so I don't have much to go on. It fits my unit well and looks like it will last for a few years, so we'll see what happens
