Does a great job with grill marks and heats fast. Overall, this grill lights quickly, grills evenly, and leaves beautiful grill marks. Flare ups are controlled and steak filet, swordfish, salmon, and chicken (on or off the bone) grill perfectly at 400. Very easy to maintain the temperature and seems unaffected by windy conditions. Yes the grill might be pricier but definitely worth the extra money for the quality and grilling experience.
My first Weber, really nice unit, love the 10 year warranty, easy to control the heat, would give it 5 stars except for the one little issue we had with it. While unloading it out of my pickup the lid fell open and my wife got her thumb pinched between the lid and the body of the grill. There is an edge along the back of the lid that is well finished but, fairly sharp and it cut her thumb pretty badly. Kind of a freak accident but, if that edge was finished with a roll over instead if left sharp, like it is, she would have had just a pinch and not lost any blood. That doesn't really detract from the quaility of the unit, just a minor issue that could be addressed.
