Short-term life
The 4010 dimmer worked for a short time. It will turn a light on/off yet no dimming control. The dimmer was connected to a lamp with a single bulb in a bedroom. It has a nightlight next to the dimmer slide which is a nice feature. These devises made overseas can work forever or fail almost immediately. No more Westek devises for me. So disappointing... I replaced the 4010 with a Leviton TBL03 which is still made in the same country. I'm hoping Leviton's auditing of the manufacturing process is more discerning.

THE LIGHTS ON MY CHRISTMAS TREE WERE SO BRIGHT YOU COULD NOT SEE ANY OF THE DECORATIONS. ON THE ADVICE OF A FRIEND I BOUGHT THE DIMMER AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY. IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE.

With the control attached to the side of my bed side table, there is no need to slip out from under the warm covers to turn the light on. The main reason I wanted the control was to have the ability to control the intensity of light, which this control does. I recommend the control for any situation where you want the rheostatic control of a light in easy reach. I won't do without it!
