The Wiss 10-inch offset professional shears are excellent! It appears that Wiss and Crescent Tool are now the same company, but my excellent experience with tools from both manufacturers certainly seems to have carried over into these shears. They're solidly-built, well-balanced, and extremely precise. The molded plastic handles are very large, so they are easy to grip and could likely be used even with moderately thin work gloves. The shears came to me extremely sharp and I'm very pleased with their quality. These are excellent shears made for real work. I'm impressed and I highly recommend them.

This is a high quality shear Very well made and durable. It is pretty heavy and the thumb hole and finger hole are very large. A little awkward for smaller hands and hard to use as they are heavy as well. They are very useful for someone who needs to cut heavy material but I would suggest trying these at a store before purchasing due to the weight and hole sizes to prevent awkwardness in use

The Wiss 10 in shear is much like a pair of heavy duty scissors for general use. It is made of sturdy materials with a comfortable and ergonomic handle and you can easily put your fingers through. I am 5 ft 7 with medium glove size, and don't feel it is too small or too tight to hold. It has a comfortable grip without squeezing your fingers. The blades are titanium coated and cuts through plastic, heavy cardboard, and multiple piles of paper like going through butter. I haven't tried leather, but it seems it would work well on leather and heavy fabric as well. The one I have is the right handed version, but depending on your preference you can also get a left handed version. I keep it hanging on my pegboard over the bench for small and medium cutting jobs. Keep in mind that it is not for cutting metal as it is also stated on the packaging. It has lifetime warranty, so you would enjoy it for many years. Overall, good sturdy pair of scissors to keep on your workbench, in the shed, or in the car.

I would rate these shears a 6 if possible. As you see in the photos I work with a variety of materials and having a good pair of offset shears is a must. The shears fit great in your hand and the fulcrum point allow the cutting edges to cut material without the need for excess force. Cutting denim fabric is easy with these Wiss shears. Another fabric I cut is Carbon Fiber Cloth. This is very expensive fabric and you need a pair of shear that will CUT straight and not push or bind up when cutting and these shears work perfect. Also you will see that I cut fiber glass and Kevlar and again no issues with a clean cut every time. A really good pair of shears that are made well and I fully expect them to preform like new for a long time. The molded handle is very comfortable and fit my hand very well.

Great pair of shears to keep around the house and garage. Handle is a little on the bigger side. But , comfortable in the hand. These will handle anything you struggle to cut with a pair of scissors. Cardboard , plastic or carpet. Used them to cut some outdoor carpet for my deck. No problem. Cut up some heavy cardboard for recycling. Also no problem.

These shears are the best I have ever owned, they are tough, rugged, and sharp. Be careful your wife will try to get these shears away from you, I just has a large oversized box I needed to try to fit in a garbage can and these babies made short work of it. I was really concerned that they would not be able to handle such a large container, but to my surprise they were great! You will also appreciate the comfortable feel of these shears.

This is one HEFTY pair of scissors, but not so heavy or large so that they still fit comfortably in one's hand. Empowered with such an imposing set of shears, I embarked to test their cutting prowess on a variety of materials. Cutting paper was, as expected, easily done, with straight and crisp edges that are the hallmark of a precision cutting surface. Getting through corrugated cardboard seemed equally easy, this is a material that proves challenging for the scissors I used previously; The offset cutting surface made it easy to make long cuts while keeping one's hands above the work area. Next up, I tried, and had no problem with, cutting plastic of varying thicknesses - six-pack binders, two liter soda bottles, and the top protectors for some premium beverage products. It took a bit more effort, but found this tool worked acceptably to cut short segments of carpet or padding. It did great on the neoprene-like hobby foam for seasonal decor. Finally, I took the shear to an aluminum can. Here, though it cut the sides of the can (or a disposable foil pan) easily enough, it struggled with crimped or multi-layer surfaces where I'd normally use a pair of metal snips. I guess everything has its limits! These snips are meticulously made and ergonomically designed for a right-handed user, so lefties should look elsewhere. As scissors, I'd give these an A+. They work great for even heavy-duty tasks, but they won't displace metal snips or a utility knife in my toolbox.

The first good thing about these scissors is that you don't need another pair of scissors to get them out of the packaging. That alone gets significant stars for packaging. I've only had these scissors for a week or so, but they seem very sharp and heavy duty. My only issues with them are that the handle is a tad large, and they are a bit tight/difficult to open/close. I'm used to having my thumb and index, middle, and ring fingers in scissors, but I can fit all five of my fingers in these. As for the tightness, my assumption is that these will loosen up over time with use. For now, though, they do require a little extra effort to open and close the scissor blades. To test these, I used the scissors to cut some cardboard boxes. The cuts were very clean and crisp. It was a little extra effort more to manhandle the cardboard out of the way than it was to actually cut the box. A utility knife/box cutter is probably a better option, but I wanted to test the strength of the scissors for this review, so that is what I went with.
