We purchased these Wiss 8-1/2 in. Home and Craft Scissors to cut the fiberglass 6 ounce cloth we're using to fiberglass our ply on frame 20' LOA, 8' Beam boat we're building in our backyard. The scissors are excellent for this type of work and we recommend them for fiberglass cloth and mat cutting.

Worked great for my task
Considered purchasing a utility knife to cut air conditioner pads. When I reached for utility knife I noticed the scissors. I decided to buy the scissors and that made my job safer and easier. Nice to have the cutting tools next to each other so as to choose for proper task.

The best house scissors I have ever had
Having good scissors in the house is a must. This scissors is one of the best scissors you might have. I absolutely love them. The size can satisfy most of my needs in the house. Blades are made from stainless steel, strong and precise and are connected together by adjustable pivot, so you can adjust the cutting "tension" to your comfort if you wish. Handles are from soft on touch vinyl, along inside perimeter where fingers are touching is wider lip, so that even when I cut cardboard box and pressed harder, my fingers did not hurt and scissors did not leave any pressure imprints on my hand and fingers. So far the scissors cut everything. I cut with them cardboard, paper, jeans fabric and piece of very fine silk fabric which usually is difficult to cut. They are very comfortable to work with. Also, between both handles is a small bump functioning as a “spacer” so your fingers don’t get squeezed between both handles while cutting. Although scissors are made strong, they don’t feel heavy and cutting action is very smooth and easy.
