Three months ago we had bought a white Wright Pneumatic...
Three months ago we had bought a white Wright Pneumatic storm door closer and after a month started clicking loudly when closing. We bought another one and as soon as we opened it…loud clicking when closing. Used these for years from Home Depot without any problems. I guess all good things must come to an end.

Does not work
The EZ Hold button doesn’t work. The closer rod had way too much tension (slamming door when opened halfway) and the door stuck in the open position when opened all the way. Pushing the button did nothing to release or hold the rod. Replaced with a cheaper, standard old-fashioned design (also from Wright, ironically enough) with a little slider on the closer rod to hold the door open. Works fine. This product is over-engineered, overpriced, and unnecessary.

The button on the closer is only meant to prop the door open and will not allow the door to close while pushed in. To close the door give the door itself a quick push, this will cause the button to pop out and return to normal use. I seem to go through these quickly. This is my 3rd one in 3-4 yrs. It is fine for the price. This time I made sure I got the one you can prop door open. It's a great invention, a must have for a patio door.

Does not open all the way, 90 degrees
Product would have worked out if it allowed the door to open a full 90 degrees. The product was installed correctly following instructions but the mechanism is not long enough to allow the door to fully open. I was able to re use the old one and paint it, but a major hassle.

For a full 90 degree opening position the open side of the jamb bracket ¼” from door. If mounted further away from door it will not open to 90 degrees. Put it in and it locked out and wouldn’t go...
Put it in and it locked out and wouldn’t go back in I spent five to ten minutes trying to get it to work and gave up went and put the old one back on so the wind wouldn’t take my door off
