Product works good in preventing mice from coming into house. You have to find the hole or access point the mouse is using to get into your house. Then use Xcluder with gorilla tape or heavy brick(s) to make it impossible for mouse to try to pull it out.from hole.

Tough stuff. It is hard to cut, but I'm sure that means the mice won't be shredding it. Seems to work good.

Had a bat take up residence in a 3/4” gap behind a wooden yard sign attached to the garage. A strip of this stuff behind the top and bottom edges of the sign made it a former bat habitat.Pro tip: when they say use shears to cut it, they mean it. Box cutter is a real pain, I’ll use shears on the remaining two rolls ;-)

This decreased the amount of observed morning "something has visited the weep holes in the bottom of the stone facing on the home" and "something has been under the false pillars around the support of the patio" in the places where I used the material from the large kit - overnight. I did not and I do not like working with fibers of steel wool - even when there are gloves in the kit. The scissors are not as useful and "pulling it apart" because you have to stick little pieces in places that are small (the instructions are very good - they explain how large a hole a small mouse or an insect needs to invade - which is smaller than most people think - and they point out areas that you should look to see if there are holes that need attention). Silicone gel and foams of plastic are good for some places - but other places in the home need to "breathe" and this can be "dug out" easily if a pipe repair needs to be done by someone professional. Very happy that it does not rust as that would make a mess when water gets under the pillar on the outdoor patio from rain or plant watering. I also need to "top the wood on the top of the inside of patio pillars with it though not sure how to do this- because that is a place where a bird has tried to nest and where wasps have tried to nest in the past. I thought of pigeon excluder "spikes" - but that would allow insect nests to be difficult to remove - though I did not see this as a recommendation in the directions. I had a professional years ago seal up much of the "open areas" with screen - but not everywhere "works" with screen (and it requires nail holes). I do have a fear of fibers (because of old insulation problems from products no longer used in the USA such as asbestus) - but I remind myself that insulation fibers are necessary and in many products and in many forms. Still - I wear a mask and I throw away the "old clothes" that I wear and I do not wash these or donate them to anyone and I am glad that I started with a kit that had the gloves - which I plan to throw away after I do all my fill work. Before this - I was spraying "Bug Barriers and Bug Kill" chemicals - which are all labelled as wear masks and gloves and eye goggles - and mice, rats, insects are dangerous and can carry disease too as well as destroy your home. It is tricky to use - it says a certain number of inches wide and to cut it - but cutting is difficult and you have to pull it apart to get it into cracks and spaces - so what I am saying is that the fabric covers more than you would estimate from the surface area so it is a good value to start with a large kit (to get the gloves) and also the many roll box. Also - insects and mice can increase the humidity inside "where they go" (nesting materials of grass and sticks)- so I started seeing "rolly polly" bugs - and the increase in humidity and sticks can attract termites that otherwise would just "hang out" in dead wood other places. Overall - this is very "worth the labor and price".

I used this product to fill the weep holes around my house. I have been having a small mouse problem in my crawlspace for a few years, had a professional come out and said this should do the trick. So far so good!! I couldn't be happier. It was super easy to install and it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. I would definitely recommend! It saved me hundreds of dollars being able to do it myself.

I just installed this stuff up on our roof line, where the rats were slipping through. Hopefully it will do the job! I wish Home Depot would just sell this on the shelf in their Florida stores. I had to order several different size kits, not being able to see how big the rolls were. I returned the kit that I didn't need, but I think they would sell a lot more if it were on the shelves in the stores! I found out about this through an exterminator that was going to charge us five hundred dollars to install it! I'm glad I asked him what product he was going to use and thank goodness for Google!

The Xcluder product is a great non-lethal form of rodent control. It is highly recommended to wear protective gloves due to it having sharp edges and pieces woven into the fabric.

The product arrived on time and in good shape. I had intended to wrap the waste water pipe on my dishwasher with this to keep rats from cutting it for the third time. That didn't happen. I will use it to seal some of the holes they made in my cabinets. I put logs of rat poison into the others. Be sure to handle it with gloves.

This product is constructed of materials that will last. However it is difficult to cut into smaller width pieces. I used tin snips, but it takes awhile to cut the 4 inch width down to 2 inch strips. Be sure to wear gloves when handling. Once cut, I was able to stuff it into the cavities on the outside of the house to deter mice from crawling up into the insulation.

Stuffing this steel wool on a roll should be quite effective to keep out unwanted guests. It has only been up a short time, so far so good.

Response from Xcluder Product ExpertJun 11, 2018
There is an important difference between regular steel wool and Xcluder. Xcluder is made with coarse stainless steel wool and because we use stainless steel the Xcluder material will not rust or deteriorate over time providing permanent protection. Regular steel wool will work but will requires regular replacement as when it rusts it becomes ineffective.

Excellent material and better than copper. Just get good gloves, eye-protection (goggles best as the pieces are tiny metal shards), and scissors which cut cleanly and at one slice.

Much better than steel wool. Will not rust and has elements embedded in the product which severely limits critters from chewing and pulling to remove. Great for filling voids which the critters are using to invade your home. Stuff it in tight to the area you want to block. Use a screw driver or something similar to push the product firmly into place. Do not handle this product without gloves. The gloves should be non-porous or leather. Do not use cotton gloves or surgical gloves since the elements in the product will work its way onto your skin. Nothing fatal, just irritating if that happens. Eye protection is also a good idea too. I used an old pair of scissors to cut the product. The scissors did not last long because of the wire type of product. Where I used this product the critters have given up trying to get in. I understand why professional pest control companies use this product.
