The LED bulb requires rewiring of the ceiling fixture with the provided end caps. Our ceiling fixture is over 20 years old and the snaps that hole the mounting sockets are not compatible with the end caps, thus we never got past the instructions and cannot use the product. The Home Depot Web site never mentioned it wasn't a plug-and-play light tube and required a non-reversible modification the the ceiling fixture.

My home has several T12 fluorescent fixtures whose ballasts are starting to fail, making increasingly louder humming sounds. While shopping for a replacement ballast I found these LED bulbs for roughly the same price. Installation was very fast (about 15 minutes) and no more humming! It converts a two-bulb fixture (80 watts total) into a 32-watt fixture, for a savings of about 60 percent in energy use. But, the bulbs focus the light more directly downward, making them brighter than the original 80 watts of fluorescent light without any added harshness. I plan to replace all of my T12 fluorescent lights with these LEDs as the bulbs burn out or the ballasts start to fail.

These are direct wire LED bulbs. The ballast must be removed! It takes about 15 minutes to replace old fluorescent 40 watt bulbs with new 9 watt LED bulbs. Simple straightforward process. Looking forward to the huge Energy savings. These 5k bulbs are ideal for the garage. Very happy.

A quick, easy, and affordable upgrade of our kitchen light from fluorescent F40T-8 to dimmable LED. The included tombstone ends and wire nuts made the conversion very simple. The wired tombstones had just enough wire length. No extra wire was needed. These old eyes appreciate the added brightness. A dimmer was added to allow for a softer effect if needed. The daylight spectrum color is a welcomed addition during the dark winter days. So far this product seems to be an excellant value. I can't give any feedback as far as reliability as it was just installed today.

If you want to update from 4' fluorescent tubes to LED lighting w/o replacing the fixture this is what you need. I had tried & failed to replace the 4' tubes in a recessed part of my kitchen ceiling & could not get anything to work. So called plug & play tubes did not work in my fixture. I finally went to my local Home Depot (#6533) to do some in person research instead of depending on descriptions on a web site. I did some looking on my own & then I saw an associate who was wearing a red cap that said "USMC" on it. When I saw that I knew I was in good hands. I explained my plight & he showed me this. He was very familiar with the product & I got the impression he had installed these himself. There is some rewiring of your fixture that is required, but it is very simple (even a 76 yr old guy can do it) & all needed parts including the new tombstones & wire nuts to connect to your homes power wiring are included & well labeled. The instructions were better than average & were supplemented with illustrations & simplified wiring diagrams. I installed this a month ago & my wife has been very happy with it as she did prepared our Christmas goodies.

No glass, no mercury, no ballast, energy efficient, easy to install. Toggled includes tubes, wire nuts (I used push in wire connectors), prewired lampholders, labels indicating modification to LED, and instructions (the new 4-min You Tube video is also helpful). I switched my lampholders (wanted everything new), removed the ballast, and eliminated a mess of wires. I used four 5000K and two 4000K which cut down a bit of the harshness of all 5000K. Lights are instant-on and the kitchen is very bright. Great product - highly recommend.

My first purchase of a LED conversion tube. I like the light quality and intensity. The only thing bad I can say is the conversion tombstones only have one row of grooves. My fixture had two but I made it work. I attached an image of the groove I'm speaking of. Look for the arrow

Toggled lighting: Easiest way to transition from fluorescent to LED lighting. Great instructional video available online. Changed 4 Fluorescent tube light in Troffer basement ceiling light (with ballasts) to direct LED, no ballasts. Took less than 30 minutes. Simple Purchased light / conversion kit at Home Depot, my second home... Be sure to turn of breaker and/or wall switch first!

these work perfect for replacing out old florescent lighting. Cheaper than a new ballast and easy to install. Uses alot less energy with much more even lighting. For anyone wanting to convert to LED just buy these to put in when ballasts die out. Actually saves money.

I was able to eliminate the ballast because these bulbs operate at 120 volts which feed one end of the tube. They are made of plastic which eliminates the possibility of glass breakage. They are realistic color rendering at 3000 kelvin unlike the 5000 kelvin cool white (Blue) that the stores insist on stocking. Being LED, they each use only 16 watts compared to 32 to 40 watts used by fluorescent bulbs. They are much brighter than the old T12 bulbs, but I do not know if the lumens will deteriorate with time as the old tubes do.

Light works great, I was looking for a LED that I could use without the ballast. These did the trick. Replaced existing florescent bulbs in kitchen light. These were a little bright, so I put in a dimmer switch. It is probably the dimmer switch, but I wish they would dim a little more than they do when it is turned down as low as it can go. The light comes with everything you need to rewire the light. If you are taking out an old ballast save some the wires. I had to slice some to get the wires to reach the hot wires coming out of the ceiling.

Easy to install. The necessary parts and instructions are included. Removing the old ballast was the hardest part. It is easy if you can take the light down. The light it produces is very bright. Our kitchen is brighter than it ever was.

Toggled LED light kit I purchased and installed this kit, Toggled 48" T8 5000K dimmable LED 2 pack, about 3 weeks ago they are working fine and the install was a breeze. I am planning on purchasing another set to replace another florescent tube set for the back yard patio area soon. If you have watched videos to see how to make the switch to the LED light tubes, great, me too. But with this kit which includes everything needed to do the switch over, I did not need to cut a wire or take down the light fixture. Take a look at the box, the kit includes, 2 LED tubes, 2 pre wired tombstones, 2 non wired tombstones (to hold the other end of the light tube), wire nuts and the modification labels (mine had 2 of those). So, I just undid the power connection to the ballast and removed the tombstones and the ballast all together. The power supply to my light fixture came in from the end, so I had plenty of wire to connect the pre-wired tombstones. If your fixture has the power supply lines coming from the middle you may need to measure to be sure you have enough wire to reach the pre-wire tombstones. After that, all you need to do is snap in the provided parts, wire up the connections, put the light tubes in and then flip the circuit breaker back on and flip the light switch an there should be light. Also, I purchased the 5000K tubes, they are a bit bright, but they are dimmable, but for now I will leave them as they are and get used to the extra light.

They made it easy to retro fit the light fixtures. The second batch that I bought made it even easier, because they included the wired pig tails. The lights really work well after they were toggled.

Great product, simple rewiring required, no flickering, no noise, saves energy without having to replace fixture. Disappointed that many bulbs were packaged as cool white and were daylight and had to return on multiple occasions otherwise 5 stars.

I have changed out all of my 4' florescent bulbs in our cottage and our home and am very pleased with the results. The triangle shape of the LED bulb actually spreads the light over a wider area then the round shaped bulb. No more hum from the ballast. Yea! The first bulb I changed took a little time to follow the instructions but the others went much faster. The LED bulb is much brighter and our electric cost has been lower. Long life and when they do fail (if I live that long) they are safe to dispose of which is not true with the florescent bulbs.

          Great bulbs, terrible instructions
I live in an old place so my kitchen has the 4' tube florescent lights. I've been here 9 years and they've never fully worked correctly. I've had 2 of the 4 bulbs out for years. I've been updating my normal lights with Philips hue and just going the LED route with my bulbs. I want to install Dimmer switches so I can control my kitchen lights with Amazon Echo like I can with my regular bulbs. But I needed the dimmable tube lights and the switches to do so. So for now I installed these lights. But the instructions were so confusing and so were videos of how to do it. No one seemed to have my specific light setup. So I ended up wiring them wrong at first. But eventually I figured it out and they're great. It's like 10 times brighter than the standard florescent bulbs. Now I just need to buy some Dimmer switches so I can turn the brightness down at night.

If you want plug and play this may not be the best. It took me about 15 mins to read the instructions and watch the how to video and another 15 for me a non-electrician to rewire the fixture. The reason I did this instead of just buying the simpler plug in and go type tube is that firstly I was able to use a dimable tube and secondly, I was able to remove the big black transformer in the fixture which in my old fixture the transformer had a hum. I also suspect that the transformer uses additional electricity to run (uneducated guess about that comment tho.) Now that I am done am extremely pleased. No hum, no flicker, and hopefully a long lasting tube that won’t need changed every couple years.

I wanted a dimmable LED option for a 2x4 troffer light in a home office. I didn't want to have to get into running 0-10v dimmer wires so when I saw these line voltage dimmable tubes I figured it was worth a shot since the price was reasonable. 15-20 minutes, including replacing the standard switch with an LED compatible dimmer. I was a little nervous cutting out the ballast, but now that we are in the LED age, it makes more sense to upgrade other lights rather than replace ballasts. I appreciated the kit having optional parts if required. Dimming range is great and I have had no flicker on the low end.
