About This Product

The IMAGE Nutsedge Liquid Weed Killer Concentrate is a post-emergent, selective herbicide that kills the toughest southern weeds including yellow and purple nutsedge, dollarweed, wild onion, sandbur, and annual blue grass. This weed killer is for use on most southern turf grasses and selective ornamentals. This herbicide can be applied with a pump sprayer and will cover up to 6,000 sq. ft. when mixed with water. It contains a patented ingredient that helps starve weeds to death and kill at the root. Do not allow people or pets onto the treated areas until the spray has dried. Also, do not apply this product to St. Augustinegrass or Tall Fescue lawns for winter weed control. Re-apply 6 weeks after initial application for tough to kill weeds.

Questions & Answers

when can i apply in November
ByJul 23, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

Thank you for your question! For best results, apply IMAGE Nutsedge Weed Killer while the nutsedge is actively growing and daytime temperatures are between 55°F and 85°F. If you're applying in November, make sure the weeds are still actively growing and your lawn has not gone dormant for the season. If the lawn is dormant, it's best to wait until spring when the nutsedge begins actively growing again. If you have any additional questions, please give us a call at 1-800-265-0761. We'd be happy to help!

    How strong do you mix?
    ByJul 14, 2026
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Hi! For a pump-up or hand-trigger sprayer, mix 2.5 fl. oz. (5 tablespoons) of product per 1 gallon of water. Spray the target weeds until they are evenly wet, but not to the point of runoff. For best results, apply to actively growing nutsedge and water the treated area with about ½ inch of water within 1–7 days after application.

How long after application before can I Plant centipede plugs in this area? Thanks
      ByJul 10, 2026
      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

Hi! Thanks for your question. We recommend waiting at least 6 weeks (1½ months) after applying IMAGE Nutsedge Weed Killer before planting centipede plugs in the treated area. This allows the product sufficient time to work and helps avoid injury to the new grass. If you have any additional questions, please give our Consumer Services team a call at 1-800-265-0761. We'd be happy to help

i have mostly rye grass will it kill my grass ? if so what other product can i use to kill nutsedge
        ByJun 15, 2026

        Answer This Question

The product label is intended for use on warm-season grasses such as Bermudagrass, St. Augustinegrass, Centipedegrass, and Zoysiagrass. For lawns containing perennial ryegrass, we recommend IMAGE® Crabgrass & Weed Killer for Lawns Ready-to-Spray (orange label), which is labeled for use on perennial ryegrass. If you have any questions, please give us a call at 1-800-265-0761. We'd be happy to help!

The handle broke first time it was pumped up. Didn't even get to use it. I don't recommend buying.

Easy to use, work great was trying to use it to clean my patio balcony and furniture which I don't have yet? A little slow but I think it will work to clean the sea water and foam off?

So far, so good with the pump sprayer. Solid construction and seems pretty well built. Should last many seasons.

              Pressure release valve leak
Pressure release valve has a slow leak right out of the box so the tank won’t build pressure.

                DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY. This is the absolute worst sprayer I have ever used. I’ve done pest control, landscaping and more with tons of professional and consumer sprayers and this is by far the absolute worst spraying device. Your hand is in pain because of the sharp plastic U-shape handle, it holds pressure for exactly 1.3 seconds which is a long time in dog years. Overall, do not ever buys this, even in an emergency.

We used the sprayers to assist with a wash down with masonry cleaner after we built some brick columns on a large property where we could not get a hose to reach. They worked great for this purpose.
