Does the thimble extend to support installation with a brick exterior?.
    ByMay 20, 2025
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

If the wall is thicker than the thimble can expand on it's own, the sleeves can be extended. Use 26 gauge galvanized or stainless steel to field fabricate an extension so there is a continuous shield through the wall.

can you use this kit on a small woodstove that has a 4inch exhaust?
      ByApr 8, 2025
      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

This is a Type L pipe, tested and safety certified to UL641. However, if the stove requires a Class A, All-Fuel Chimney, tested and safety certified to UL103 Type HT, then no. You would either need to increase the diameter to match the wood stove chimney you have or get a chimney that is 4" ID.

Figure 6 in the installation instructions shows 2 options. Is there a third option of going horizontally out the back of the stove, then vertically indoors and then horizontally out the wall? If this is acceptable is there any disadvantage than space?
        ByJan 23, 2025
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

You will want to check with your pellet stove manufacturer for any limitations. Otherwise, from our standpoint, there is no disadvantage. The advantage would be keeping the pipe warmer (inside the house temps vs. exterior temps) & not subjected to the environment. Once you know the path your pipe is taking, use high temp sealant at the joints. A pellet stove operates with positive pressure. The use of sealant at the joints will help ensure no fly ash can come out the joints.

Can these duravent pipes and wall thimball is be used for a pool heater that runs on Natural Gas? A Pentair 400 to be precise?

            Answer This Question

Each appliance manufacturer dictates the type of venting approved for use with their specific units. As such, you need to look to them for verification. Pellet Vent is Type L Venting, for use with gas, oil & pellet burning appliances Listed for use with Type L Vent. If your appliance requires Category II or IV venting, then this would not be the correct pipe. (Category II & IV venting has components that help drain away acidic condensation.)

Sorry, this is a question we cannot answer. Too many unknowns, as with material of wall, etc.

Call tech support before trying to making it work.
Bought this to go with the comfort built hp22i peller stove. Found out even though both the stove and the kit says it accommodates a 3 in exhaust. In the manual it says the exhaust is supposed to go in-between the inner and out rings of the adapter. After about 30mins of trying to get it to work then eventually ruining the adapter. Ended up calling the company they said that the stove in a non conforming exhaust and you slide it over the exhaust and secure it with sheet metal screws.

The manufacturer has affixed labels to each section that are extremely hard to remove. Perhaps if I had a heat gun, but using a scraper and solvent I spent well over an hour getting the labels off.

                          Works perfectly.
I bought this to vent my portable generator in the garage to the outside. It worked perfectly. Very pleased that hardly any heat was on the outside. My reason for only 4 stars is that it is described as "adjustable" but I could not find any way to adjust the length. No problem since the 12" was exactly what I needed.
