Can this weed puller handle little oak seedlings? The stems are only about 1/16 inch. Can the blades close tightly enough to grip a stem that small?
    ByJun 16, 2026

    Answer This Question

The 4‑claw design can clamp down pretty tight, but it’s really designed to grab around the base of broader weeds, not ultra-thin stems. For something like an oak seedling at about 1/8 inch, it can work if you position the claws to grab the root zone rather than the stem itself. If you try to grip just the stem, it may slip through. Pushing the claws fully into the soil around the seedling and using the ejector to lift the roots will give you a much better result.

Meant to say 1/8 inch stems. Never forget to proofread. 8-)

I was using mine on a weed in my front yard and one blade snapped. I’m not sure how, it’s very possible it was my error, but is there a way to replace just one single blade on this tool?
          ByJun 5, 2026
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

The claws on this tool aren’t designed to be replaced individually, so a single blade can’t be swapped out on its own. If the tool failed during normal use, we’d recommend reaching out to our customer service with a quick photo and purchase details (or inquire with the retailer regarding their return policy). They can take a closer look and help with next steps under the warranty: https://www.fiskars.com/en-us/customer-service/warranties

I have concrete around my local home and where the concrete doesn't mean and there is a scene that's where I have things that I can't go out because they're very deep rooted. Will this take those weeds flirting, out?
            ByMay 30, 2026
            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

Thanks for checking. This tool is not designed for concrete seams or tight cracks. The claws require enough open soil to surround and grip the root, which concrete gaps don’t allow. For weeds growing in concrete or narrow cracks, a crack‑specific weeding tool or treatment would be a better option.

will the fisker weed puller work on horehound weeds
                ByMay 27, 2026
                1 Answer |
                Answer This Question

Yes, it can work on horehound - especially younger plants - but mature horehound has a tough, woody taproot that can be more challenging. You’ll get the best results when the soil is moist and the claws are centered right over the base of the plant, using steady downward pressure before pulling. Center the claws directly over the base of the plant. Apply steady, straight-down pressure before pulling.

                  Very easy to use
What a great tool! I was getting tired of spending money on “weed killer” that never really worked AND wasn’t good for animals or humans. I decided to get this one. Nice and light and super easy to use. I had a HUGE amount of broadleaf weeds that were getting out of control. I was able to remove ALL my weeds, front and backyard, in an hour! The tool works like a dream. Absolutely no complaints. My soil is soft and when the weeds were removed it did leave holes. I was going to add some soil to the holes but after having cut the grass I could hardly notice it. The holes look about the same as the crows make in the yard. The weeds eject very easily and the tool is extremely lightweight and is a breeze to use.

That’s a serious weed takedown. Glad this weeder made the job lighter, faster, and chemical-free, with the easy-eject doing its part so your hands didn’t have to negotiate with every dandelion. Fiskars
Very large capacity Sturdy material Reinforced handles Can be rinsed out Collapses for easy storage Great value for price
                    by
Great size to hold lots of garden clippings or leaves. Lightweight, but sturdy. The thick nylon? fabric is coated on the inside, with a waterproofing material. Folds into a neat collapsed drum for winter storage with clasps. I will use this for years.

Poor quality and falling apart right out of the package.
I thought these would be exactly what I needed to clear my yard, so I bought 4. When they arrived, I was disappointed to see the flimsy quality even without opening them. I returned 3, keeping one because I really need something to help with yard work. Today I opened the one I kept and found that I was not only correct about the flimsy structure, the stitching was poorly done and the top rim is falling apart. Come on, Fiskars. Do better.

Sorry to hear about the quality issues. That’s not the experience we want with this product. Since it was purchased at The Home Depot, we recommend contacting them regarding a return or replacement. You can also reach out to Fiskars customer support so this can be reviewed and addressed: https://www.fiskars.com/en-us/pages/warranty-registration Fiskars
Good height for a spade, with a nice sharp edge. The handle is secured with only one bolt, but seems sturdy enough for soil and sod cutting. I would not use this on rocky substrate or hardscape surfaces. This was a little on the pricey side for fabrication in China and not their Finland manufacturing

Thanks for the detailed feedback. It’s helpful to know where the design feels sturdy for typical soil work and where you’d set limits on tougher conditions. We appreciate you sharing those observations. Fiskars

This tool works great. Its easy to use. No more bending over. I like how it ejects the weeds. Some of the plastic parts feel like they could break in time.

                      I cannot recommend this product
Just like the other, plastic broke 3rd use. They want me to pay for the return to them which is nearly the cost of the weeder itself. So the warranty is there but not. Totally bogus claim. With the odd size and weight of the box its not worth the hassle. Save yourself the trouble and buy a weeder thats all metal. This was a horrible purchase on my part. And disappointed in the quality of this product and the warranty process.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience, that’s certainly not what we want for our customers. Regarding the warranty, return requirements like covering shipping are part of the process outlined in the policy, but we recognize that can feel inconvenient, especially with larger items. Fiskars

                        Plastic cracked on first day
Plastic parts cracked in the first day rendering it useless. Another company putting shareholder profits over people.

That’s frustrating to experience, especially so quickly. Cracking in the first day isn’t typical, and how the tool is used can make a difference in performance and longevity. We’d recommend returning it to the retailer or reaching out to Fiskars Customer Support so the situation can be looked into further: https://www.fiskars.com/en-us/customer-service/warranties Fiskars

                          Broke... twice.
Bought one of these last year. Worked great for a few months but then broke at the claws. I tried fixing it in the spring, but it broke again after a couple hours using it. In the pic, notice that two of the claws are uneven. It won't close properly when I stick it in the ground. Will still grab the really big weeds but won't work anymore for the small weeds.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience, that’s not what we want for our tools. These weeders perform best in softer soil conditions; very hard or compacted ground can put extra stress on the claws and impact performance.
