Questions & Answers
how do i know which box contains right handed vs left handed, if it matters to me
Thank you for your inquiry. The packaging will be labeled LH (left-hand), RH (right-hand), or Universal (includes both) for the handing preference. To determine handing, stand outside your door. Whatever side the hinges are on from the outside will be your lock handing. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please contact us at consumerschlage@allegion.com or call 888-805-9837.
Are the Schlage Accent Levers "F" Series?
Yes, The Schlage passage levers are part of the F series. Our F series locks include F60 (handles sets), FC60 (custom handle sets) F51 (keyed entry locks) F40 (privacy locks) and f10 (passage knobs/levers)
After closing and locking the door, the door unlocks from the outside when the handle is jiggled downward. When the handle is jiggled upward, it says locked. Do you have any suggestions?
I purchased 5 of these handsets and two of them have this problem. It seems to be a common failure.
Hello, We're sorry for your experience with the F40 model lock. Unfortunately, it would need to be replaced. Please contact us at schlage.warranty@allegion.com or 888-805-9837 so we may assist you.
Can these be used on front doors when turning the handle is not required as is there a mechanism in this handle that will cause it to not turn
This set can be installed on exterior facing doors with a deadbolt for added security. The lever must be engaged to open the door however it can be pulled/pushed shut as the latch will retract when it hits the strike plate. If you have any other questions or require any further assistance, please call us at 888-805-9837 or email consumerschlage@allegion.com.
Are they handed
Levers are universal so the handing can be swapped at anytime if needed however, you can order them as left or right handed. If you have any other questions or require any further assistance, please call us at 888-805-9837 or email consumerschlage@allegion.com.
