Smart Tiles is the Original, made in North America, do-it-yourself peel and stick backsplash tiles. Especially designed for backsplash in kitchen and bathroom environments, the tiles are resistant to the heat of stovetops and the humidity of bathrooms (do not use in shower).     Will these stick to sheetrock?

    You may install Smart Tiles over sheetrock provided that the surface is smooth and has a primer applied (72 hours cure time for primer, 21 days for paint)

    Can I install these over plywood? Do I need to treat the plywood with some sort adhesive primer? Thank you.

    Plywood is a naturally porous surface so you would need to use a primer and wait 72 hours before installing smart tiles. If you choose to use paint, you would need to wait 21 days for the paint to cure before intalling the tile. There is no need to add any additional adhesive.

    The Smart Tiles are made with a gel resin that gives a 3-D effect that looks like real ceramic, stone or glass backsplash.

    Hello, Thank you for your interest in our product Smart Tiles. Yes, they are resistant to the heat of a stove. However, if you have a gas stove without a back control panel or metal plate, you must respect a safety zone (without Smart Tiles) of 20 cm (8 in.) above the surface of the stove in order to prevent direct exposure to an open flame and we recommend to install our Smart Panel. For countertop appliances such as toaster ovens, mini ovens and others, keep a space of 6 cm (2 in.) between Smart Tiles and the appliance. It is important to note that some spices with high density pigment color, such as turmeric, can stain the tile permanently.     How come some answers indicate that they are permanent and some indicate that they are removable with a blow dryer?

    A Big Improvement
    The tiles perform exactly as expected. Definitely an improvement - providing a backsplash in my bathroom. On close inspection, these are not going to be a replacement for “real” tiles, but they are a great product for a more finished appearance. Easy to install, but a little tricky to get perfect. The overlap is the most difficult part. If you are concerned, pick a larger tile style.

    Recently updated fire place
    Make sure to order enough tiles and at the same time. There are slight imperfections in batches and they match up differently on the sides so found I needed more than with others.

    PRETTY!
    I love the finished look of this! The only negative aspect to these hexagon tiles is that the "grout" width was inconsistent on some of the ends so extra trimming was necessary in some of the areas where I had the sheets overlapping. One tip for this one, the tile can only be laid in one direction because of the pattern, so keep that in mind when calculating how many sheets you need!

    After some trial and error it looks great :)
    It looks awesome. Was difficult for me to cut because the blade on my boxcutter was dull, and I was afraid of damaginh the surface. Ended up up using small, sharp scissors. More explicit instructions would've been helpful because i had to figure out i needed to cut all four sides in a straight edge, and how to cut the corners of the strips to match up.

    Excellent backsplash for our RV kitchen and bath!
    We bought these to update the look of our new RV. These were so easy to use, look great, and are easy to clean up. We live near Austin, and haven't had any issues with them falling in the Texas heat. Love them! My only complaint is if you install as directed by butting the sheets up against each other, the "grout line" will be twice as thick where the seams are. Making it obvious where you start/stop a new sheet. So we overlapped them when starting a new sheet, but wish this was accounted for.

When installing the tile, there needs to be a slight overlap in the grout area for the overall eveness of the grout-lines. Samrt tiles are ideal for RVs such as yours. Once they have adhered to the surface, thay can withstand tempurature variations including the cold winters and hot summers.

    Great Kitchen Solution!
    So happy I decided to give these a try! Took me only ~2 hours to complete and that includes extra measuring and cutting for some odd angles and shapes around window sills. Highly recommend for a less expensive version of a high-end look. A couple tips--don't rush it, measure for things like sills and socket covers, align your panel before sticking to make sure that the seam will blend in well. I did have to trim the edge (fake grout) in a couple panels to ensure that the grout line would be a consistent weight throughout.

    I love this tile!
    I bought this tile a month ago to use as a backsplash in my vintage trailer. I love it! It was really easy to work with...you just have to take your time and use common sense! It’s beautiful, and I’m getting ready to order a whole new batch for my new laundry closet!

    Did not match up, grout line inconsistent
    I love the product, but wish the directions had said the grout line should be watched as installed. As I applied I stepped back and it was heavier in some places than others(grout line). Too late, I will need to redo!

    Looks great!
    I bought these to put on the walls around my vanity in my half bath. I took out a built in vanity, and the walls weren't really paint ready, so I put the Hexago Smart Tile over the walls instead. They look amazing! Yes, lining them up was not as easy as the Muretto Brina I used in the kitchen, but I was extremely happy with the final product.

    Modern, cool and cheap!
    I did a small area, a backsplash, in my basement bathroom behind the sink. Looks great! Wish I'd known about these when I was a renter.
