AnswersHello, thank you for your question. Smart Tiles is a Canadian business manufactured in Quebec. Our tiles are made from an adhesive substrate topped with a gel-resin compound for the 3D effect of real tile. Smart Tiles have been tested for Volatile Organic Compounds and aldehydes (VOCs) under ISO 16000 which classifies emission rate from A+ to C (A+ indicating a very low level of emissions and C a high level of emissions). Smart Tiles have been certified as A+ meaning very low level of emissions. Our products are certified NFPA (ASTM E84) and IBC Class B and are safe to use in your home.
Does the product run the risk of detaching when the house heating is turned on?

i was so happy with how easy the tiles were to install, and they look great. i put some light gray caulking around the edges when i was done to finish it off nice. a very thin line

These were very quick and easy to install. From a distance they look fantastic (fooled my father, he really thought it was real tile)... Up close you can see the edges of the individual sheets and every now and then a corner that just didn't stick quite right... But overall we are very pleased with this product, it dressed up our kitchen very nicely

Makes the kitchen look brand new!
Purchased these to update my plain kitchen. I was looking for a tile that would work with my existing color scheme, but also any colors that I may go with in the future. The installation wasn't difficult, but let me offer you a tip that I didn't figure out until one tile in: if working from left to right - make sure that the the letter code and overlap writing on the tile is in the bottom left corner. If working from right to left the code and overall writing should be in the upper right corner of the tile. The tiles have given my space an elevated look. The various tones and sheens in the tile really help add dimension. My kitchen looks so pulled together now. These tiles are very realistic looking. I'm waiting on my Smart Edge arrive so I can finish up.

Super great for a DIY project. I used these as a backsplash to make my outdated kitchen look a bit more modern. These were easy to use and easy to cut. I cut the straight lines I needed with a box cutter, and some of the rounded edges around my window with scissors and it looks great! The backsplash looks like real tile from a distance, however if you get super close, you can tell it isn't. That isn't to say it still doesn't look great, but obviously not the real thing. This tile is cost effective and certainly brightened up my kitchen in a short amount of time. I would definitely use these again.

These Smart Tiles in Taupe are pretty awesome. We got them for our kitchen in our rental home. Our budget did not account for hiring a tiler to upgrade our kitchen, so this was a great alternative to either tiling ourselves (too difficult for a beginner) or hiring out (too expensive).
Now, don't expect an exact replica of real tiles, but from a distance they do look great. I think for the cost, it is a goodt idea especially with the various color schemes to choose from. It's definitely is a time-saver if you want a quickie upgraded look.
