The NIBCO 1/2 in. PVC DWV trap adapter is used in residential and commercial drain, waste and vent systems. The PVC DWV trap adapter features a hub x slip joint connection and provides a means for adapting a solvent weld connection to a slip joint connection. PVC fittings exhibit high corrosion and chemical resistance and will not rust, scale, pit or corrode.
  • PVC needs primer before cementing
  • Not for use with compressed air or other gases
  • Adapts PVC fitting hub to tubular trap at floor or wall using solvent
  • PVC DWV is easy to install and is joined by solvent cementing or threading

The threaded one is 1-1/4 inch and will be connected to your P Trap, the 1-1/2 inch will connect to the 1-1/2 in pipe coming off the wall.

I need something like this to transition from 2inch pvc to 1 1/2 inch trap.

It is for a DWV situation in basement going from 2 sink laundry tub to single tub.

Will this join 1-1/2 PVC to 1-1/2 copper? The copper OD is1.625

Thank you for your inquiry on joining the 1-1/2 in. PVC DWV Hub x SJ Trap Adapter. That will not work with Copper tube since PVC tube and Copper tube have different Out Diameters; this makes the female adapter too large for the OD of the Copper tube.
