Product Overview

The Montroy Tile is a whimsically ornate, versatile option for both direct mount and grid applications. At 0.030 in. thick, it is twice as thick as our other series of tiles. If you are planning to direct mount these to your ceiling, you will love the way that they overlap. Perfect for both commercial and residential applications, these Tiles are made from thick 0.03 in. vinyl plastic. Their lightweight yet durable construction make these tiles easy to install. 100% Waterproof, these tiles are washable and won't stain due to humidity or mildew. A perfect choice for anyone wanting to add that designer touch at an amazing price. Since your ceiling will more than likely have partial tiles at the perimeter, you will have to cut your tiles to size for those areas. Since this tile projects only slightly at 0.125 in., you may not find the need for a border tile. Should you decide you would prefer to use a flatter tile at the edges, our Kingsbridge Border Tiles are the perfect remedy.

Excellent in price and quality
Easy to cut with tin snips or small circular saw. Definitely don't skimp on adhesive. So glad we went with this.

I installed these items along with the "recommended" CeilingMax grid system. The CeilingMax system also has it's flaws. I installed them with the 'lay-in" option from a open ceiling from the joists. Unfortunately my ceiling was 7' 9' x 11' 5" and not square, so getting the first row set up was a challenge. The tiles are a pressed plastic, so cutting them down for the border tiles was not cosmetically pleasing (in other words, it looks stupid and cheap), not bad for a 120 a box tiles The CeilingMax system requires buying 25" cross tees if you are using them as border tiles So we wound up buying acoustic tiles, cutting them down to fit, and painting them with Hammered Copper paint from rustoleum They look nice now, but it was a challenge, since each border tile had to be cut to fit, it turned out to be a multiple day job First cut and install the top hanger and cross tees, making sure you are square (very important) Install the full tiles, cut and dry fit each of the border tiles Prime the border tiles and let dry overnight Paint the border tiles and let dry overnight (the Hammered Copper took longer to dry) Install the border tiles and the runners Start the process over for the next row And don't forget the that the outside edges needed every cross tee cut to fit So a 3 day process for each row, and 5 five rows And don't forget add the ceiling cans for light, which by the way CANNOT be supported by the CeilingMax system When you look a the photo the Cans are offset, reason being that to equal the border tiles the joist was in the middle of the room, what are the odds....... Would I do it again, Yes But now I know what to look out for and to pick a tile that can be cut and look nice The video's doesn't do the process justice, getting it square in a not square room is not an easy task

Although the tiles were a little thin, we were very pleased with the end result. They were easier to add into the suspended grid work than regular white ceiling tiles were. They definitely met our expectations.
