Installed Siding from Leading Brands

How do I know if I need new siding installed?
Most siding lasts anywhere from 20-40 years. If your siding has never been replaced, there is a good chance that it has started to crack or buckle in some areas, or that some boards are no longer lying flat against your home. Be on the lookout for these types of issues, and if you see them, it may be time to have new siding installed.
What happens to the old siding on my house when I have new siding installed?
It depends on what type of siding you currently have and what condition it is in. If your home currently has vinyl or aluminum siding, it will have to be removed, as it is not sturdy enough to install another layer of siding on top of it. If it is a wood siding, depending on the condition, the new vinyl can be installed over the existing wood. We require a flat foam be installed over the existing wood even if it is in a good condition. If your home has fiber cement siding, it will most likely need to be removed before installing your new siding.
How much does siding installation cost?
Vinyl and fiber cement siding are great cost competitive options when compared to cedar or brick siding. Cost for siding is calculated by the square foot, the type of siding you’ve selected, and the labor involved in your installation. We offer flexible finance options to help you with the cost of your new siding.
Does new siding increase the resale value of my home?
Installing new siding is a great investment that can increase curb appeal. If your home’s exterior is in a beautiful new condition, it is likely to sell more quickly and for more money than a home that has old siding that needs repairs.
How do I keep my new siding clean?
Both vinyl and fiber cement siding are easy to clean because you don’t have to use a pressure washer. Simply use a garden hose to spray your siding and a soft brush with a cleaning solution to clean tough spots. For prolonged life, we recommend washing your home’s exterior at least twice a year.
What are good siding accent options for the front of my house?
Boral Versetta Stone, a manufactured stone veneer, is a recent add to many of our stores and HDE now has capability to install Versetta Stone in many markets. This program offers the look and feel of real stone but is installed in a similar fashion to vinyl or fiber cement siding.
Will new siding provide energy savings for my house?
Most new siding, especially when updating soffits, will have incremental energy savings. To go further, insulated vinyl siding will provide additional value and result in considerable energy savings.
James Hardie Siding & Installation
Fiber cement siding is another option that is quickly gaining popularity. Made from wood and cement, fiber cement siding gives you an upscale, natural wood texture that portrays the character of real wood – even up close – for less than the cost of brick or cedar siding. James Hardie siding products beautify millions of homes with a broad range of styles, textures, and colors. The Home Depot installs fiber cement siding made by James Hardie, America’s number one siding brand. Five times thicker than vinyl siding, our siding contractors can upgrade your home’s exterior with high-quality siding that comes with a 30-year non-prorated transferable warranty, natural wood texture, and panels that can withstand hail and high-speed winds.
Vinyl Siding Installation
Vinyl siding is the most affordable and popular exterior covering for homes in the United States. Today’s vinyl siding is better engineered to resist cracking, warping, and fading as well as insect or water damage. The range of styles and colors available together with the ease of installation and maintenance has made vinyl siding the go-to installation option for homeowners and contractors alike. Vinyl siding provides a quick, affordable way to update your home’s exterior, even if it currently has wood or metal siding, brick, or stucco.
