Q:How do you get the orange tag out? Is there a switch to turn it on

Answer This Question

A:  Locate the Seams: Take a close look at the top section of the solar light and identify any seams or grooves where the top connects to the base of the light. These seams are where you'll apply pressure to twist off the top. Apply Gentle Pressure: Hold the base of the solar light securely with one hand to stabilize it. With your other hand, grip the top section firmly but gently. Apply steady pressure while twisting the top in a counterclockwise direction. Twist Off the Top: Continue twisting the top section until it starts to loosen and separate from the base of the light. Be careful not to twist too forcefully to avoid damaging the components inside. Access the Pull Tab: Once the battery compartment cover is removed, you should have access to the pull tab inside. Take care not to touch or interfere with the battery connection points. Remove the Pull Tab: Carefully grasp the pull tab and pull it out from the battery compartment. Ensure that you pull it straight out without applying too much force to avoid damaging the tab or the connections. Replace Battery Compartment Cover: After removing the pull tab, securely replace the battery compartment cover by reattaching screws or snapping it back into place.

i love these lights, but, shipping was horrid
I opened the big box as i ordered 10 pieces, they were shipped loose with only brown paper for protection. 2 arrived broken :( So now i have to drive out of town to a home depot to get these two replaced. Not very convenient

      Battery life is non-existent
I don’t know how people rated this so high. These lights do as described and take notice that they do not mention how long they last. These only shine for about an hour after turning on. So unless you are around right at sunset then these lights serve little purpose. At first we thought oh maybe it was cloudy today, but no, after several weeks of sunny weather they barely give an hour of light before turning off or only produce a low dim. Plastic is weak too.

Beautiful, and highest Quality I’ve seen so far .
We love how these glass/ metal solar path lights look !!! Installation was easy, I removed the bottom stakes to get them to the right height off the ground for me. They are super bright, and they look very very classy, the quality of the light is fantastic. Thank you - Thank you Home Depot and Hampton Bay for offering these at such a great price.

          Amazing
I was skeptical at first because I thought 14 lumens wouldn’t be bright enough but these amazed me. Not only are they bright but they look so lovely in my yard. I love the star light it emits at night time, I would definitely recommend these if you’re looking for affordable and stylish pathway lights!

Pretty good lights for the price point. Bought them to mark my dark campsite while on vacation. First use I cheated, and pre charged the batteries as I would be putting the lights out late. They lasted all night, better than 8 hours. Might have gone longer, as they hadn’t faded yet, but daylight intervened. Since then they have been charged by daylight, lighting time is varying in longevity from 3 to 6 hours. Given that it has been raining or overcast for 8 out of the last 10 days since I purchased them, and due to placement, only get filtered sunlight even on clear(er) days, that is pretty decent performance! Light output is warm white, and at 14 (rated) lumens, fairly bright, without the harshness of bluish LED solar lights. The 1-1/4 inch long vertical light source is designed to look like a classic ‘filament’ lamp with a nice even light distribution. They have a larger 60x60 solar panel, considerately better than other low cost solar light panels, which vary between 25 mm and 50 mm square or rectangular. This improves chances to fill the 1000mAh battery when it does get quality sunlight, increasing ‘on’ time. Construction is mostly powder-coated metal, with a real glass diffuser lens. They look good, both lit and unlit, and would be a tasteful addition to your landscape. I will likely buy a few more for home. One thing I see as a (potential) area of concern; the solar panel is mounted in a stamped depression in the metal top cover. It collects water in the outer ‘groove’ created between the solar panel and cover, so users in colder climates may experience some separation and/or damage if this collected water freezes. I would advise an application of a clear silicone sealant all around in the groove if you want to leave them out in freezing weather.
