The H2.5A single-sided hurricane tie is designed to resist moderate loads at the rafter/truss-to-top-plate connection. As part of a continuous load path, the H2.5A resists both lateral and uplift loads. The symmetrical design eliminates the need for separate right and left parts.

Simpson deserves 5 stars just for their technical manuals alone! I do not buy any other brand. I specified Simpson back when I had a real job and I still use them for home maintenance projects. I don't do toe nails or any of that wood-splitting stuff. Use screws and pre-drill the holes on that old construction.

I was using this on a shed and ties should be used to hold roof trusses and tie the roof back to the ground on almost any structure. These work fine, decent gauge, look strong
