Q:What are the exact dimensions? I hear it's "about" an inch oversized - I need 1.5 inches wider than 4 feet, and it'll really be too bad to have to pay double just for a half an inch...

Q:Does the laminate go over top of old laminate?

Answer This Question
A: Probably, with some prep. The usual adhesive for laminate sheet is contact cement so scuffing up the old laminate is needed to give the cement something to bite into.

A: It can. You would need to properly prep the old laminate though. Abrading/sanding the surface and making sure the old laminate is sound.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question. Formica does not recommend that yo use laminate to resurface a pool table. There will be a small degree of telegraphing which will affect the pool ball.

A: Did not use it for this application. I used it for a router table and work bench. Usually, a pool table's base is slate allowing it to be flat, level and smooth. I do not know what you will be covering with fermica laminate, but I suppose it might be okay. This material is not perfectly smooth.

A: Pool tables typically have a slate surface the felt is applied to, I’m not sure why you’d want to use a laminate to resurface.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question. The sheets are cut down into strips about 2.5 inches wide or so. The edges of the substrate and the back of the strips after they are cut are coated with contact adhesive, let them flash, then apply them by hand one side at a time. You will “ J “ roll the edges at this time to get good bonding . There should be overhang on the top, bottom and sides. You will then cut the overhang with a trim router and a flush trim router bit. Finally, file the ends of the edges flush to the substrate or to the laminate.
