A:  I have an outlet directly under the wall unit. Looking inside, this unit really doesn't have easy space for an electrical box for an interior outlet. It could be done, I suppose, but wasn't necessary in my case. Hope this helps.....

A:  The unit is recessed into the wall 7 inches, but comes out from wall 4inches with the box. Finding the right placement is important, or if studs are cut it must be boxed in for support. The ironing board is 41 inches long, but can swivel in all directions. Make sure it will clear the counter in case it is too long. My laundry room was VERY narrow, and I raised the box just enough to go over the washer. I love this and it is my second one. Measure, measure and measure again!

A:  Our built in ironing board protrudes 45" from the drywall when down. You can tilt in on an angle as you open it but it would be really tight at 42". I would not recommend it.

A:  We too have exactly 42" from finished drywall to edge of counter top and although it touches when pulled down we do indeed swivel the board and have zero issues with ironing. Hope this helps! :)

A:  With the board completely out and flat it’s about 43 3/4 inch long, let say 44 inches from the surface of dry wall. Yes you can turn it a little to the side to make it fit. It’s kind of a pain if you don’t remember that day and it smack onto your counter. If you really want it here is a way: the ironing board length is 41 inches, it has a 2.3 inch space in the back where it mounts onto the swivel/ folding mechanism, meaning you can re-mount the board 2 inches back and that will give you total of a tiny bit less than 42 inches. The remounting seems doable to me but I am not the one doing it.

A:  It measures 42 in straight out and can move on a swivel to allow the clearance you need. Mine is surface mounted in bedroom so no issues. I own two of these in each of our houses. They are great

A:  It looks nice. We painted it to match the cabinets in the room. The iron board is kinde of small, like a mini version. A taller, full sizeed board would be more preferable.

A:  when the board is in its horizontal position, bottom of the board support is 9.2 inches from the bottom edge of the cabinet.

A:  The board has two different height settings. At the highest setting, the distance between the top of the board (pad and all) is 12 1/2 inches to the bottom of the cabinet trim. The lower setting is 2 inches lower (10 1/2 inches).

A:  All of my information states that the unit requires a 14.25" opening between studs.

A:  You need a minimum of 14 3/8”. If it’s a wood stud wall you may be able to hit the stud over 3/8” with a heavy hammer

A:  Yes, it can be painted. It swivels and has an high and low height adjustment for the board.

A:  No you can not paint this cabinet as it is a laminate overlay and the paint will not adhere to the laminate. Yes the board swivels 180 degree. We do also carry an unfinished oak unit (exact same unit except the cabinet is unfinished) that unit can be painted.

A:  Yes, you can paint the door and yes, it is a 180 degrees rotating ironing board surface to accommodate left and right-handed users.

A:  Question 1. yes it can be painted . But you will need to apply bonding primer first then apply color of your choice .It comes pre-finished ,I left mine white . Question 2 . yes board does swivel

A:  I have had mine about 1 year. It is great. Don’t know what I would do without it.

A:  I have no idea where to find new hinges. However, when I had my board installed, I didn't use the hinges. My builder put small hooks at the top, kind of like coffee cup hooks, and I just hang the door on.

A:  I don't know for certain, but I'd take one of the old ones to a hardware store or to Home Depot. I'm sure they could help.

A:  Yes. All you need is a drill. I love mine!

A:  The hardware for the door, hook and metal guard for iron comes with it.

A:  Yes, it comes with hardware for mounting to wood studs. If you have metal studs, you'll need to get the right screws for metal (available at The Home Depot!).

A:  Hi. The door is 46" x 13.875" x 0.625".

A:  The door is 46 5/16” by 13 7/8” by 5/8” thick. It does however, have two cutouts where the hinges attach. If you could make the hinges work I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t use another door.
