A:  The adjustable backset ranges from 2 3/8" to 2 3/4". We do not have a latch that will fit 3 inches, this is a custom length. We have a 12-349 backset that will fit 5" but it cannot be adjusted down to 3". Unfortunately, you would need to seek out a custom hardware store in your area to fit this need.
