Walnut S4S When purchasing lumber one of the first things you notice is that the dimensions by which the wood is sold (nominal measurements) are not the same as actual measurements. A:  Any oil will work HD carries a few different oils in their paint department.

A:  Lot's of choices. What purpose do you intend to use the wood for. I put it in cutting boards and used "The Good Stuff", Looks great1

A:  Nope. 3/4" thick and 5 1/2" wide.

A:  Actual size was 24" long, 5-1/2" wide, and exactly 3/4" thick.

A:  3/4 thick but not flat you will need to plane it to get a flat surface...

A:  These were pretty accurately measured at 2ft long. I wouldn't expect to get any more per board .
