I recently replaced my 20+ year old Kitchenmaid cabinets. I was dumbfounded by the poor quality! Doors were gouged & scratched. I was told that protecting them with a piece of cardboard would be too expensive. The bases of cabinets were made of thin particle board stapled together & held in place by 3ish” pine corner braces attached by a single screw that barely touched the cabinet. The entire base of the corner unit detached in the box and fell apart. I had to completely rebuild the base. Kraftmaid offered nothing. I would strongly recommend choosing a more competent and responsible manufacturer. Shame on them!

These cabinets were not cured long enough or they wouldn’t be like this the stain shouldn’t come off when you wipe them nor should it melt. No trim around bottom of cabinets is a no no also. They claim you have lifetime warranty but they don’t cover nothing but I’m going write the attorney general on these and see what he thinks. My cabinets that were 4000.00 dollars cheaper were still in excellent shape and in my house longer then these

This is the third kitchen I have remodeled using kraftmaid cabinets from home depot and in the past year the quality has gone completely downhill. Shelves are warped, holes for the shelf brackets do not line up, joins on the cabinet doors are splitting. Certainly not worth the money spent. Over $20k spent on cabinets to get a poor quality product. Next kitchen we will be going elsewhere for a much higher grade cabinet.

We paid over $16K for these cabinets while building our dream cabin. Kraftmaid said these are “within spec” of their product. Understand the flow of an entire kitchen may be too much to ask, but the folks building a door or drawer front should be able to select pieces of trim to at least flow or be of similar hue for that one door or drawer front. We are more than disappointed with the results of this custom order and would caution anyone from ordering Hickory from this company.

Many problems with finish, they replaced many doors. Last year replacements started coming through with a lot darker stain. Now kitchen is two different tones. Kraftmaid says that's because my original cabinets have aged and they get darker. My original wood is much LIGHTER! After replacing half the doors, their "quality team" canceled the balance of the order and told me to pound sand. Go to BBB.org and look them up. They are in Middlefield OH.

This is an honest review for kraftmaid. I went all in to remodel my kitchen and saw samples at the store which I liked . I ordered all high end wood tall cabinets with wood shelves, moldings and crowns as my ceiling is high. Less than 3 years later and after we gave at most care to the cabinets, the moldings start to come off the doors , some of them recess and showed row wood behind ,some shades were worn out and other issues have nothing to do with negligence beware.

This is the 3rd kitchen for which we used Kraftmaid cabinets… the quality of these cabinets are far less than in previous years. Cabinets aren’t square, screws are missing for drawer slides… color is great! Kinda wish I could return the whole lot!

Please research before you buy these cabinets. These reviews are 100% on point. My kitchen cabinets & island were delivered in January 2020 I knew I had made the worst decision to buy Kraftmaid. After twelve months of use, the cabinets seem begun to crack and paint will come off. I called the company, doors replacements were shipped. After two years I encountered the same problem. I called kraftmaid and requested doors replacement and asked about the warranty offered by Home Depot. I was told byKraftmaid that it’s a normal tear and wear condition and no replacements will be provided. The rep explained that wood is in a constant state of expansion and contraction. This normal movement may cause some hairline cracks at the joints in the finish surface on cabinet doors and face frames, and that this is a normal. This cannot be….this is not an easy repair. Here are some pictures....truly a bad Kraftmaid experience...

I had KraftMaid cabinets for a while now. Thermofoil is peeling off from some doors and drawers. Very bad quality. Don’t be fooled by lifetime warranty. They come up with some made up excuses not to cover that. Don’t buy KraftMaid cabinets.

Paid over $11,000 for cabinets that are not finished as expected. Bonsai sage was chosen color. several "BUTT" cabinets (meaning open end of cabinet) was not the color as expected from order. Now we have to finish the cabinets ourselves. Home Depot/Kraft Maid has ordered sage colored skins to cover the wood colored ends of cabinets. Home Depot/Kraft Maid is supplying skins and expecting us to install skins at our expense. Plus cabinets are primarily made of chip wood not plywood..

I purchased Kraftmaid cabinets two years ago. The surface is already peeling off. I was told this is not covered under their warranty. I can not recommend these cabinets. Poor quality for the price

Don’t buy Kraftsmaid. Worst customer service and cheap glued cabinets. Spend the extra money and invest in quality cabinets and it’s not Kraftsmaid! My oven sits too high preset from cabinet maker. And the drawers are uneven. Looks awful. Cheaply made.

We purchased all the Kraftsmaid cabinets and island through Home Depot. After only 12 months, every single corner of every cabinet and drawer had cracked at the seams. When we asked about the warranty coverage were told it was because of the humidity and that the cabinets would return to normal once the weather dried out. Keep in mind, this was in August in Socal... The product is garbage and they do not stand by their warranties. Buyer beware.

Installed Kraftmade kitchen AND bathroom cabinets in color ginger with sable glaze. Love them. Highly recommend Kraftmade. the color is warm and natural light color wood.

I wish I saw these reviews before buying... We've only had our cabinets for a month and starting to regret - having trouble getting KraftMaid to pay attention to the 'stove hood' purchased - twice shipped now and still there are defects... on my third try and then takes another 5+ weeks to ship. This all sounds like a company culture(Pride) and lack of Management/Quality issue... to bad!

If you buy kraftmaid Cabinets you must understand that in the future if you plan to add more cabinets, they will not help you. We spent thousands of dollars years ago and now we are adding onto our kitchen and they no longer make that cabinet unless we are getting a warranty claim. If we have a warranty claim they will make and replace the doors or what not however, they will not help us in building new cabinets to match our old nor will they tell us the color code to have matching cabinets made

We have had so many issues from delivery to quality to support, I don’t know where to even start. We ordered cabinets for our new house and are now going to have to delay our move in by months due to the complete failure of Kraftsmaid. Our first order was for our kitchen. Delivery was set for 12/22/2023 and when they showed up, they were missing 4 full cabinets. After contacting Kraftsmaind, they confirmed they somehow lost them and would have to remake them. Even with expediting them, the new delivery is 1/26, so one month lost. Before they lost the kitchen cabinets, we had decided to order matching cabinets for two of our bathrooms. Since it was a smaller order, we had them shipped to store(Home Depot). Get a call that they are in and went to pick them up only to be told when I got there THEY LOST ANOTHER CABINET! How is this possible with a completely different order, placed at a different time and shipped to store? So I picked up what we could. I was then contacted later and told that they found the missing bathroom cabinet?! Great, go back and get that cabinet (extremely large linen cabinet). Get it back and look at it to find to was such a poor quality, it was falling apart (the face frame separated from the box). This was not shipping damage, it was just never glued properly and the cuts were terrible. That needed to be reordered as well. While we were waiting for the missing 4 cabinets, we decided to start the kitchen assembly with what we had since the kitchen was holding up the rest of construction. When we went to attach the corner cabinet to the next cabinet, we found the front face was so warped it could not be installed at all. Again, not shipping damage, just poor quality. We had send pics of the deformed cabinet and now order a replacement corner cabinet as well, which will set us back another month. The overall quality of the cabinets is unbelievably bad. There is so much excess glue on some joints that we had to cut true excess off with a multi tool and then some joints didn’t have any glue to it separated. Through all of this, I have been working with Home Depot and Kraftsmaid directly. While they have agreed to replace the lost and damaged cabinets, that’s it. At no point has anyone contacted me, I have always had to call and push them. They couldn’t even return my delivery fee of $350, which I thought was fair since they lost 4 cabinets in transit. I have had to push my move in date 2 months now, costing me thousands is rent plus other costs with these delays. I WOULD NEVER BUY KRAFTSMAID FOR ANY RESON. Their quality sucks, their delivery sucks and their customer service sucks! The designer we used at Home Depot was great during the design phase but the second there was issues with the order, he was zero help. I would never order anything custom from Home Depot period. They are a big box store that care nothing about an individual customer. Save money in the long run and go with a local custom shop.

I am very happy with my KraftMaid cabinets. They are beautifully made. Drawers slide easily and automatically close with a light push. Very happy I got this brand.

Cabinets are thin, seams are poor and paint is already peeling off. Would not recommend given the expensive price. Home Depot sent 1 installer. Trim seams are poorly cut. Doors do not line up. Go to Ikea.

I have rarely in my life written a bad review but I'm so diappointed in HD and these cabinets. We bought what I thought would be high end acrylic cabinets from a northern Michigan HD (who gave bad service themselves) the cabinets came with "inspected by" stickers which meant nothing because have of the acrylic had peeled from the drawer fronts. After multiple attempts they finally sent me new drawer fronts and I had to replace them myself. The fit and finish is terrible.

Bought kraftmaid cabinets because I thought they were high quality. The fronts look amazing but when my installer picked up a base cabinet the side fell off. So he got his brad nailer and nailed BOTH sides to the cabinet. For the amount of money I spent I expected better quality. Should have gone to a cabinet shop.

Everything about this experience was negative. If I could give zero stars I would. Poor customer service, poor quality, poor installation, poor finishes. Honestly I’ve never been so disappointed by a home project. Maybe it was the installer, but I doubt it based on other reviews. Absolutely do not do this!

the bottom of the cabinets look like they were cut with a dull blade making them look mangled/unfinished and terrible!! The representative is coming to day to assess, so we will see what their response will be. Wish we had not bought, but representative from Hammond Lumber told us what "wonderful", "high quality" cabinets they were

Absolutely the worst cabinet made today. the finish does not match from cabinet to cabinet. I purchased trim to go under the cabinet and had to add 3/4" to the bottom of the cabinet to keep the door from hitting the trim. I put the panel on the bottom and there is a 3/4" gap at the wall. They charge me and sent 3-31 1/2" and 2 8' fillers all i needed was 1-36" filler. They will not return or give me my money back for the extra parts. I am a builder and have been in the trades for 43 Years.

Terrible...just terrible! We ordered a $10,000 custom library with filing cabinets. We opened two boxes, both filing cabinets of different sizes and all the door had defects. One door refused to open, the other didn't 'soft close', a feature we paid extra for, and the other door would soft close, but you had to yank it open. Didn't open the rest of the order and hoping I can return it easily to Home Depot. The worst part, we waited for this product for three months...what a waste of time.

Do not use Home Depot to reface your cabinets. They began chipping immediately, they did not replace the shelves (even though salesman said they would). I have tried for 6 months for them to come back and fix all chips. Several cabinet doors are now chipping as well. They will call you and promise to come out and repair but never follow through. I'm sure they are waiting for my one year warranty to expire and just tell me that "sorry warranty has expired". This has been such a frustrating process and I'm not sure what steps to take next. Also, now the self closing drawers are not closing.

Poor quality for the price and what was expected. So much particle board (pressed wood, composite). One of three vanities we order was unpainted cherry. The drawer fronts looked like bamboo flooring. HD coordinated the replacement quickly of the fronts only (I had to reinstall them). Better, but very different grain and color than the rest of the vanity. KM has gotten so big and I see better quality and better looking materials elsewhere with smaller manufacturers. I won't use KM again, but maybe HD.

I love my Kraft Maid cabinets. The Home Depot consultant was very helpful and made a great suggestion to improve the flow. I had a custom Amish made kitchen a few years before this at my northern home. Never thought a big box kitchen would compare. I was wrong. The appliance garage is wonderful. I love the spice drawer. The drawers are sturdy and of course soft close is wonderful. I chose a different color for my peninsula and white for the rest. Love the look. The pull out drawers in the pantry keep me from loosing track of items stored in it.

We have had our cabinets for over six months, and they are wonderful—excellent quality for the money. Our Home Depot consultant in Carmel, IN, was very knowledgeable and helpful. The service was excellent. We arranged installation with an independent contractor. This entire process was an easy and great experience. The cabinets are beautiful!
