Have to give this a low rating. Listed for $329 at my local Home Depot in Brookhaven, MS. I checked price online at my local Tractor Supply. They had same tool listed for $289. I asked if they would price match and they said they wouldn’t because they run special pricing online sometimes. I checked Home Depot online price and it was $329 as well. Saved myself a fair amount of money just driving about a 1/2 mile away to tractor supply. Just frustrating when Home Depot says they price match.

I would give it 5 stars, but it is NOT "made in Japan" as the picture and descriptions elsewhere indicate. Apparently now (5/31/2019) the tool says "assembled in USA" (not even made in USA which implies they took parts made in other countries (China?!?) and just assembled it in the US). Still, not a bad tool, and in fairness, I couldn't tell any quality difference between this one and a made in Japan one I bought locally at a tool store. Only two outside visible differences: 1. the Japan made label is not glossy while the assembled in USA label is very glossy (like the cheaper Makita stuff in the Home Depot store, boo) 2. the rubber collar on the US version is made from a slightly different mold and has a different part number. It is still probably TPE, but I can't remove it to see. See pic below. 3. slight difference in the casted head; seems on the Japan version they did a better job smoothing the seam. With some slight outside differences, I'd rather keep the Japan version as it's the one I've seen measured on Youtube, and I know it is the best 1/2" impact money can buy. I have no doubt the newer assembled in USA version will perform as well. Returning the tool though as it is a lot of money to not be made in Japan as was shown in the image. Sorry, but I want it to match my made in Japan XDT012. Don't care for the glossy label either.

The stongest battery powered tool I've ever used!!! There is no stopping this beast. It's so easy to use, even my 12 year old daughter was sinking 12" lag bolts into our barn posts last weekend. My expectations have been surpassed.

This impact has a lot of torque and works great. The only down side is the size and weight. It is a heavy impact and hopefully that means it will last. I do have concerns about the battery mounting block. The one I purchased seems to be loose and I dont see an easy way to tighten it.I have only used it a hand full of times so far.

This is a excellent tool! It’s quiet, powerful, and very comfortable in the hand. All around great purchase.

It's a great tool ,very powerful and reliable so if you want a great electronic high impact wrench ,please by all means get ,just take a look of what I used it for.

This impact driver is awesome. If it won't break it loose, it will break it off. I love my Makita tools.

Awesome tool. This thing ripped off rusted on lug nuts on my 1/2 ton truck. I tried several air impact wrenches before hand that couldn't do the job. This thing did it quick and was so much easier than setting up a air compressor. Just charge it and rip. I recommend the 5.0 Ah battery to go with it since it does take alot of juice.

This tool does everything and is really tough and looks feels and performs like a real pro tool.

I decided I wanted another product

Don’t really know how well it would have worked. Purchased it for work in automotive and not even 24 hours and after one use it would on work forwards and not reverse, (which from a brief google search may have been a trigger problem or something). Nothing on Home Depot’s part was a bad experience though, the return was fast and easy.

This impact is a beast

drill is used in assembly area, use is high volume and it is able to keep up.

Picked up this unit as I was tired of using air tools to swap out my tires a couple times a year, and love it. I swapped out the snow tires on five cars and trucks so far and the battery still hasn't even lost one light so hey that's pretty good in my books. Loads of power and torque, took the snow tires off and slammed on my summers on my 3/4 ton 4x4. The ONLY thing I really don't like is the forward and reverse switch I find are way to easy to bump and change. I cursed it many times this past month. People with big hands will have this issue, those with smaller hands might not have much problem. But other than that, great unit.
