Had the unit installed a few weeks ago, saving space in the small basement, never running out of hot water, and saving on the fuel costs are all big draws. Takes some getting used to low flow situations, like washing your face/shaving - anything where you need hot water, but not continuous or at high flow. There is also a minor annoyance with my house because I have a well & an expansion tank. The water heater doesn't seem to want to kick on till the expansion tank gets low enough that the pump kicks on. Means that the water for showers needs to be turned on a little early which isn't a big deal, but slightly annoying if the tank is low and I just want to wash my hands.

Rinnai replaced a tank heater. It really heats water better than tank heater did. It was installed three months ago.

Beautiful presentation love the small compact design, like that the hot water doesn't run out. Had it for about a couple of months just dislike that it takes a little bit of time for the hot water to come out.

Had it 7 months. Pro: it gets the water hot and usually stays hot. Con: sometimes while in a hot shower it gets cold for about 1 minute.

Nice to have hot water when you need it without constantly heating as with a traditional water heater. Works very well & I expect that it will save us money in the long haul.

Dislike - waste water, hard to get the right temperature setting, uses electricity and gas. Uses 2 utilities as opposed to a hot water tank that uses only gas. Cost to replace is 3x as much as a typical hot water tank.

I have had it for a few months now and I am very happy with it. It does take considerably longer for the water to get hot at my bathroom then the old tank heater, but the fact i do not run out of water after a long hot or cold day working outside makes up for it. The time it takes to heat up is really negligible. The water seems cleaner coming out as my old tank heater tended to leave rust stains as well. The unit is quiet and I have seen a decrease in both my gas and h20 bill since installation. (despite me taking longer then normal showers now)

I had my Rinnai natural gas tankless water heater installed approx. 7 weeks ago to replace an old electric tank water heater. I am very pleased with the unit and the fact that I never have to worry about running out of hot water. My unit is 8 gal/per hour with an efficiency rating of 95%. I received my first natural gas bill last week. It was so low I won't say how much it was because you would NEVER believe me!

Took a bit to figure out how the get the water hotter, but now works great!

It takes up so much less space it is wonderful. It takes a little longer than I had hoped to get hot water, but it’s hard to tell if that is much longer than before or not — haven’t received a water bill yet so don’t know if we’re using more water. I would have appreciated to hear more about necessary yearly maintenance before purchase.

I replaced an existing 70 gallon electric hot water tank. I have only had this tankless system for a few months and already there is a significant drop in my electricity bill and a minimal increase in my natural gas bill. I chose not to put in a circulating system (for more instant hot water) as the main reason I installed it was to save fuel (money). There is a slight increase in time for the hot water to reach the tap, but the savings outweigh having to wait an extra 15 seconds. I was able to increase the set temperature using the spec sheet. It was not really intuitive (they recommend the installer do this), but it was relatively easy as long as I meticulously followed the instruction sheet.

Takes a bit longer to supply hot water but the consistent temperature and endless supply more than makes up for it.

The unit was larger with more piping than expected. There was also a blue pressure “ball” that we were also unaware- would have been a bit better if it was white. The install took forever - guys did a good job but it took up almost 2days.

The system works great, I like the idea of not having a large water tank to hold my hot water, except when our power went out we did not any hot water for a quick shower. It would also be better if there was a hot water recirc-system associated with it.

This is our first tankless water heater and came with our new home purchase 6 weeks ago.

Acquired May 2, 2019. Multiple incidents of code 11’s. Unit unexpectedly stops delivering hot water, eg. mid shower. Had a service call clean sooted flame sensor and reset unit, but still is unreliable. For a 2 month old water heater this is unacceptable.

The top of the line unit I bought is a great heater . However , I’m frustrated with the noise . I think the noise comes from the fan . So I keep it shot down and just turn it on , via WiFi , when we need to take a shower . That’s it . It is installed in the garage right behind a bedroom and a bathroom . But I couldn’t go to sleep if it is turned up at night . One suggestion for the company : add a device inside so it can get rid of the noise One suggestion for the installer : please install it on a wall that is not backing up to any rooms . It should be on the wall facing the street . Maybe in that case Thr people in the house would not here the noise .

Saves space and rental $$. Was easy to install and so far works well!

I've had the tanless hot water heater for about a month now and I love being able to take a shower without worrying about running out of hot water! Looking forward to the next gas bill to see the savings!

There is no noise that comes from the unit and produces an endless supply of hot water. The unit itself takes up less room than a typical hot water tank and lowered the gas usage in our house noticeably on the bill.

Does not meet my expectations...prefer my old propane fueled water heater...

So quit can’t hear it running. Using less gas than standard water tank.

We have had a tankless water heater for about a month. Love the endless supply of hot water but it can take some time to get it.

We purchased our Rinnai about 3 months ago. The unit fits nicely in our small laundry room closet and no problem supplying hot water to our 3 bath home.

This is the second time I lived in a home with a Rinnai tankless system. The first was a rental and we really liked not running out of hot water. So when a plumber told us that we should consider replacing our 12 year-old traditional water heater we knew we wanted to go tankless. I think the system we bought this time is a little better than the one we had in our house rental. At this point, it is too soon to tell the cost savings we will see in our gas bill. But at least we have piece of mind that we will always have hot water and that our water heater is about to exploide.

I like that I never ever run out of hot water. I wished I could get it to go hotter, When it was installed it was set to 120 didn't seem hot enough, so I turned it up to 14 and I couldn't tell of any change in temp. the water out of the faucet never gets hotter then 113.

We took out our traditional water heater. It was very large and took up a lot of space. This water heater is so compact it hardly takes up any room . It's amazing how little space it takes up

Because the flow is so much slower, it takes a much longer time for hot water to get to the tap on the other side of the house - longer wait. But still nice to have unlimited hot water.
