Great reviews from several plumbing shops. Easy installation. Very good diagnostics and performance data retrieval.

Happy showers and baths! (and laundry and dishes..
After several weeks, we are getting used to a tankless system. It takes up less room, makes less noise, and uses a lot less energy. all of that is good, and we are very happy! Using a tankless system is just a bit different, though. In our house it takes longer for running water to get hot (about 10 to 15 seconds) and then it stays hot until you turn it off. No more straining the tank! Initial cost is higher than installing a traditional tank, at least in houses like ours that need additional plumbing, but the savings in energy bills should offset the expense in a few years. After that, it's gravy. This is a fairly major investment in your home, so do what we did and get someone who will do the job right. We used the Hot Water Heater Company out of Milwaukie,OR, and are very pleased with the quality of their work, so we can recommend them wholeheartedly.

The online calculator for tankless heaters lacking
While the tankless heater calculator is invaluable in determining the size of heater needed, it doesn't provide a map of minimum ground temperatures. The default of 55 degrees is accurate for my region during the spring, summer, and fall, but it can drop to 44 during the winter. That's enough of a drop that the calculator was inaccurate in its recommendation.

Satisfied Customer
I am very satisfied with the Rinnai water heater. I, along with some of my friends, were under the impression that you had instant hot water. In reality, it takes longer for the water to get hot but once it does, you can run the washer, dish washer, shower all at the same time and never run out. I have had it a little over a month and am very happy with it. Love the fact that it is very compact and takes up much less space being on the wall than my 50 gal. tank did on the floor. I am very pleased with the fast service that I received from Plum Tite and Dustin, who installed the heater.

Good upgrade
Installed the Rennai about a month ago and we're very satisfied with the investment. Saved a lot of space in the attic because it replaced two old tank type water heaters. Performance has been as expected and the addition of a leak detector and automatic cutoff valve minimizes the chance of a catastrophic leak event.

Excellent water heater
I’ve had my Rinnai water heater for about a month. I love that we never run out of water. I love that it is efficient, and takes up less space than my old tank water heater did. If I had one complaint, and it’s a small one, but does prevent me from giving 5 stars, it seems like it takes 20- 30 seconds or so for the water to actually get hot once I turn on the faucet. This is probably twice as long as it took our tank water heater. Not a huge deal, but it doesn’t seem to waste a lot of water during those 20-30 seconds.

I just had the unit installed a week ago. Other than a clicking noise I have had no problems. Of course the clicking noise doesn’t happen all the time but I did get a recording of the noise. Other than that I love the unlimited hot water.

Longer wait time for hot water in sink or shower.
Continuous hot water as initial hot water is flowing. Dislike the amount of wasted water before hot water arrives. Had tankless water heater one week. I feel that this does not meet my expedtations as salesman said it would be a less wait time then my conventional tank water heater but wouldn't be instant.

We love the unlimited hot water and the no heating of the water. We have had it for one month. The only negative is that it takes longer to get the hot water.

May be efficient, but wastes a lot of water to rec
Re-circulation options need to be a standard and not an option to this product, IMO. Energy efficient but wastes a lot of water waiting for the hot to arrive. If the re-circulation valve placed at the furthest point also make the cold water come out warmer - then this is not a good solution either. Something else needs to be made available.

Polar Vortex Leads to New Love
I love that it has freeze-protection, due to the fact that our previous tankless (different brand, 12 years old) did not, and it froze and ruptured when the Polar Vortex came calling in January, 2019.

FAN
The unit is mounted on the garage wall with the master bath on the other side. When the fan runs you can hear the fan in the master bath and the wall is insulated There should be some way to isolate the fan so you don't get the noise.

It does take a few minutes to get warm water but o
Dislike the time it takes 3 to 4 minutes before the water is hot enought to get in the shower. I have since heard about a re-circulating pump that Keeps things flowing so th water is always hot. That would have been good to know about sooner.

Rinnai ru160i replacement of tank
Had the tankless for about a month so my rating is mostly on my experience. With tankless you never run out of hot water which is why we replaced the tank. You do need to change your usage as it takes a little longer to get hot water going to the tap and we found that the water pressure went slightly down almost not noticeable. I don't think there will be much savings over a tank but from our experience it definitely meets our needs as our family takes showers and baths around the same time and during the weekends when we have multiple laundries and dishwashers going at the same time we never run out of water; which we did in the past. Overall would I go back to tank, the answer is no and so far I'm happy with the purchase.

Tankless water heater
This will be our 1st experience with a gas tankless water heater. All of our other houses have had the traditional electric water heater. Too early to tell how efficient and cost effective as we have only been in our new home for a month. But I like the small footprint and hot water has been fine.

Great product just a little slow getting hot water
I've had my unit for about a month now and it does everything I needed to do. I get all the hot water me and my family could ever want at a very consistent temperature, but it does take an extra 10 to 15 seconds longer to get hot water from the tap then my old hot water heater

Disaster prevention!
Had the system installed only 2 weeks ago so I am hesitant to launch into a rave as yet. I have noticed that it does take time for the hot water to reach the location needed. I was informed that this would be the case by the installer.

Heat up time
It takes a while for the water to heat up. Once it does, the water is fine and stays hot no matter how long a shower I take.
