Recycling at The Home Depot

Did you know?

eco_image

Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, and CFLs for recycling.

eco_image

This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used to manufacture composite decking, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.

Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.

The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our eco actions.

Garden Shop Sales Associate
The cashier sales associate working in the garden department in 98 degrees had the most helpful knowledge of customer service than the indoor sales people at the other box stores.

JR was the most helpful employee I’ve ever encountered
On a recent visit to The Home Depot (Eldridge) location, JR explained and enrolled me in the Pro Xtra member program. He was knowledgeable, friendly and made my experience enjoyable.

      Self checkouts epic failure
Trying to check out with the self checkouts, but found all of them only take credit card, if one is paying in cash one has to go stand in some very long lines at the pro desk. This was not the first time that the self checkouts only take cards, but this time I asked to speak to a manager, Aronn, he was rude and barley made time to listen to me. Most of the managers in this store are very rude. When one is lucky to find a manager, be prepared to only have 20 seconds with them. An the store manager never comes out of the whole she hides in. Equipment failures in multiple places in the store. No one knows how to cut wire or thread pipes or cut carpet, its a good thing those machines never work or have a employee that knows how to use them. Epic Failure

This store needs a whole new management group
The moral in this store does not exist. Management is beyond incompetent, IF you can find one they are useless. An in most cases they refuse to come out of their hiding hole and send some lacky to do their job for them. You always hear about how safety is important to Home Depot, but in this store it seems to be the furthest thing to management. The fire escapes are always blocked, especially in the lumber area. The Fire Marshall would have a field day writing violation tickets!!! The morale of the store is at a zero. IF you can find a employee they are either clueless or so overwhelmed and overworked. Some fat management member must have been a slave owner in their past life and is still cracking the whip on people. And then there are the clueless useless trash employees that live on their cell phones instead of helping customers. Avoid hardware that is where the useless clueless pathetic workers are, when you can find them. Which is NEVER !

where oh where is the managers of this store
The workers are way over worked and the management staff always seems to be hiding in their offices or cars. Whoever writes the schedules either has absolutely no idea on what they are doing or they do not care to have workers there to help customers.
