    Basically called a liar
Went into HomeDepot today At 1339 S. Pleasantburg Dr., Greenville, SC 29605. The cashier asked me how many geraniums that I have in my buggy. I told her four, she told me I had five. I counted them one by one for her, I had only four. She basically called me a liar and questioned my integrity. This was very embarrassing and unprofessional. If she was not going to trust my answer when she ask, she should have just counted them from the beginning.

      Great staff!
Everyone was very kind and helpful. A man named Will cut my wood for me and helped with my questions. There was a woman employee that helped track down someone (Will) to cut my wood, I wish I caught her name. I also had a pleasant interaction with the woman at the paint counter. She was very knowledgeable. I also didn’t catch her name. This was at the Greenville, SC location on Pleasantburg

            Rough Experience
Attached is the email I sent to corporate about my recent experience: To Whom it may concern, I’m writing to give feedback about the experience I had getting quotes and ordering cabinets from two Home Depot locations located at 1339 S Pleasantburg Dr., Greenville, SC 29605 and 1614 Sandifer Blvd, Seneca, SC 29678. To begin, I first received a quote on JSI kitchen cabinets from your Seneca, SC store after a family member had made a recent purchase and enjoyed the quality of the product. The quote came back for close to $8,000 which was over $2000 higher than the purchase my family member had made. This quote included 36” wall cabinets and two less base cabinets. My family member purchased 42” wall cabinets and two extra base cabinets for mostly identical cabinets according to measurements. Understanding that some mistakes were made, I got a second quote from your store located on S Pleasantburg Dr. from your cabinet specialist named Jen. Jen was great to work with and knew exactly what she was doing. The quote I got from Jen came with 42” wall cabinets and two extra base cabinets over the previous quote with a total just under $6000. The order number is xxxxxxxxxx if you need to know specifics. A 25% price difference with less cabinets per square foot is quite a difference for the same cabinet manufacturer and product line. After placing the order and subsequently being informed that the cabinets were waiting for pickup at the store on S Pleasantburg Dr, I went to the store to ask about the size of the pallets the cabinets were on so that I would know what size truck or trailer to bring to pick them up. I was told that the cabinets were on one pallet that was stacked 8-9 feet tall and that if I needed to, I would be able to rent the flat bed truck from the store to get them home. If necessary, I had a family member with a trailer that was willing to haul the cabinets to my house if informed ahead of time. After talking to the customer support desk, I didn’t think it was necessary to use the trailer because I would be able to get the cabinets home on my own in a single load on one pallet. After arriving at the store the following day to pick up the cabinets, I was informed that the cabinets were on 3 pallets and that even if I rent the truck from home depot and use the truck I brought, I would not be able to get all of the cabinets in one load. I decided to rent the truck from home depot so that I could make two trips instead of 3. When speaking with customer service, I was told the truck was $20 for the first 75 minutes, $20 per hour I ran over, $10 per gallon of gas, and my time would be updated from when I left the store after loading the cabinets. When the cabinets were brought out to the contractor door, the cabinets were on two pallets instead of three. I was also informed that the pallet under the larger set of cabinets was broken and the cabinets would not be able to be lifted into the truck. Both associates assisting us told me that they weren’t sure what to tell us and asked what we would like to do. We decided to break down the larger pallet and load everything onto both trucks as best we could. While doing so, someone from inside the store wasn’t satisfied with the way the cabinets were loaded onto the truck and sent a woman out to ask how far we were going and inspect how well the cabinets were strapped down. The taller of the two pallets was taller than the top of the rental truck by 3-4 ft and wasn’t an ideal situation. A non-issue if I hadn’t been misinformed about the size of the cabinets and how they were packaged to begin with as I could have brought the correct size hauler for the job and not needed the rental truck from the store. The woman on the phone was speaking with Fred who was inside the store and told the woman to tell us that he would update the time we left the store on the rental truck as soon as he saw us leave. I left the store around 6:03 pm with 167 mi of gas(7/16 of tank as documented on my rental contract) left in the tank of the rental truck. After returning to the store and turning the keys over to the customer service associate, the associate went outside to inspect the truck. The time the associate walked outside was 7:03 PM and the distance to my home is 4.3 miles according to google maps standing at the customer service counter, 4.9 miles from my computer at home, and the remaining gas counter in the truck read 157 miles upon parking(167 miles remaining upon leaving the store). When the associate came back into the store, I was asked if I had filled the truck up with gas, to which I replied no. The gas was $10 per gallon and the time spent would have put me over for an extra hour. The associate then told me the total for the rental for 60 minutes and 10 miles was going to be over $90 because I used 6 gallons of gas. When I told her that wasn’t possible and I’d like to speak to the manager, she asked me which mark on the paper was 7/16 and verified that 6 gallons of gas was correct because there was now ¼ tank left in the truck. I asked her how it was possible that a truck used 6 gallons of gas on a 10 mile round trip and she said she wasn’t sure and that this was what the computer said. At this point, a second woman comes over and recalculates the total and comes up with a different total for over $60 dollars. In which case, I asked what time they were calculating the total off of and it was stated as 5:25 PM. This was the time that I checked out at customer service for the rental and did not include the updated time to account for the breakdown and loading of the pallet of cabinets. The woman then settles on 1 hour of rental and two gallons of gas for a total of $46. Still an overcharge on the gas unless the truck gets less than 10 mpg, which it doesn’t. After the third attempt at a price on the rental I called it quits and accepted the $46. Originally, I planned to write a letter for Jen in cabinets as the survey didn’t pop up after my cabinet purchase. Jen did an excellent job all the way around and answered every question my wife and I had. Jen also had the quote done in half the time as the first quote, as the first associate wasn’t quite sure how to use the software and struggled throughout the process. After Jen’s quote, I was charged $2000 less and got more cabinets than the first quote from the same manufacturer and the same product line. I’ve recommended Jen to several of my family members who are also doing home renovations at the moment as the experience was excellent. As for the rest of the experience, every point of contact with an associate was met with incorrect information that resulted in a simple process becoming a frustrating experience that could have cost me several thousand dollars. Seven out of the eight employees that I asked for assistance from on a process as simple as picking up cabinets from a store dropped the ball. Unfortunately for me, I’m now in the middle of a home renovation and a large portion of the products I’ve picked out come from home depot and I don’t know if I have the time to find alternatives elsewhere. I’m hoping that this was a one time experience; however, with the number of employees that gave me wrong information, I don’t think my chances are good. If interested, I can provide my rental contract, order numbers, bank statements, phone location history, timestamps of messages, and home surveillance footage with timestamps if necessary to corroborate any details. My intent is not to write bad reviews and damage any reputations but to give the opportunity for improvement. Home renovations are a stressful time in anyone’s life and a few hiccups along the way are expected. However, this experience was a bit more than a hiccup and could have cost me a sum of money if I hadn’t been paying attention.
