I've been to this home depot location many times in the past because it's close to where I live . But I have to say with each visit the experience I leave with is worse. Some of the employees either do not want to help or have no clue what you are asking and due to their ego aren't willing to ask another associate for help on their behalf. I have lost track of how many times I have wandered through the store feeling as if I was an employee on my first day without anyone showing me the ropes as I aimlessly struggled to find the item I am looking for. After a while I used the store website to get a better guide of the store. In some cases items aren't in their right location so back to square one. Don’t bother asking about the item when you finally find it, if you are curious how it works or the right accessories to pair with it. Do yourself a favor and watch a few YouTube videos at home alongside the store website to make a more informed decision. If not and you stay in the store too long they will now start to follow you around the store and all of a sudden the help you couldn’t seem to find is looking at you like Big Brother. From employees to distressed looking security guards to an off duty officer but I know I have no desire of doing anything wrong so I use their following me around the store to my advantage. I turn and ask if they can help me. Oh boy If you can see the looks on their faces now. It's now a game of I don’t know or let's walk this way. Now they don't seem to know the code of the padlock and start banging on the lock. I sometimes wonder if I am secretly on the tv show What Would You DO With John Quiñones because there is no way this can be acceptable at a huge retailer like this.

Perla Quezada helped me today and she was AWESOME!! I purchase an appliance and that wasn't even her department but she took the time to help me with my purchase and explained everything clearly.

If you ever find yourself at the Home Depot on High Street in Oakland, look for Antikia if you need top notch service! She’s by far the most knowledgeable! Outside can be a little intimidating with all the homeless and people sadly looking for work. It’s pretty filthy but, mostly VERY sad! My four star rating is all because of Antikia’s above and beyond service!!

The Oakland store on Alameda was very clean, organized, and bright. The employees I met were very competent and happy as they helped. Some of the big box stores don't think cleanliness is important because they're a warehouse. Clean matters! Competent employees Matters! Thank you!

I found the electrical ceiling fan box easily because the isle was so organized. I also needed shark fittings for a rough in tub-shower valve installation. I saw the plumbing people who are always busy stocking shelves. I explained the work and one of them turned and said this or that, then the other associate spoke to her and both agreed. He then told the other associate who was nearby the bins with the shark fittings: "He needs the 1/2" transition pipe fitting from threaded to 1/2" copper" But before I could walk over to where he was, he already had them in his hand, and asked, "How many of these do you need???" These folks in plumbing have a terrific sense about the shark products and the application. I really appreciate their personal service. (C-36, #734593)

If you need professional and courtesy service stop by the pro desk and ask for Victoria. Victoria is the type of person that you would feel confident sending your elderly parents to and know they will be taking good care of.

Too many employees hanging around not engaging with the customers. A police officer hanging around the front door tells you a lot about this store.

The cashier was good at his job .

Today there were two female customers that got into an altercation at check out. The line wasn't more than a couple people - so it seemed very silly. They were swearing and in each others faces. It appeared to escalate quickly into a potential physical altercation. HD staff jumped in immediately and really handled the situation like pros. One cashier stepped between the two women and pointed out that there were plenty of available cashier stations. And another cashier rushed over and quickly escorted one of the women over as she opened up new station. I was very impressed with how they handled it. My cashier wasn't involved in the incident helped by calling out that she was open. She was also really helpful and cheerful. Her name is Janice #555. This could've been a really bad day, but it turned out great. Thank you!

Clean, well stocked in general. Good parking space. Police Patrol on site. Good store.

I usually find what I need and ALWAYS receive great service from employees. From security to the cashiers to the folks on the floor, it's always a great experience.

Some employees word not as knowledgeable and would not find someone with the knowledge others was very knowledgeable and if they didn't have the knowledge they found someone with it cashier 555 was very knowledgeable very helpful polite and courteous I cannot say enough about her assistance

It's always a pleasure to shop and go to the register or at the self checkout when the cashier Marie T. is there! She always great you with a smile and make your transaction fast, accurate and very friendly. With that service, it makes you come back more often just for having her service! May all the employees have the same attitude to make the customers their perfect place to shop.

Use those two and get the best bang for the buck. Most used feature is looking up what I need, where it is, seeing previous transaction, and finally looking up what the heck that thing is and what it does and used for! Did you find the products you were looking for easily? YES, easily identify aisle location and number as well as the apps Were you able to get assistance if you needed it? YES, my dad goes to a person for help and guidance, and so do I Was the store clean? YES, I see the cleaning machine go around cleaning the floors. Were our associates friendly and helpful? Yes, Martha tried to help, b/c our case was niche, she ask the manager which also helped us and I also offered store credit is fine too

The dirty porta potties dropped the score from 5 stars to only three due to it's filthy and paperless condition. No soap!
