Can I rent a tool for a month?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and bigger jobs are no problem. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before selecting a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
