Can this be installed using a two-sided tape? Recommended brand of tape? Does it have ridges designed to "catch" on the bottom of the felt paper?

I want to install under existing asphalt roof shingles after replacing the lowest piece of 1x8 shiplap decking that has been water damaged because there was no drip edge at all along the eaves of the house.

I will slide it under the felt paper which is below the shingles.

Answer:
I would not use any kind of tape for outdoor applications.
Roofing nails are the way to go.
Adhesives like glue for the tricky places that cannot get a hammer into it.

I would not recommend using any type of tape for outdoors applications.
Some kind of glue would be smarter as it will last longer.

Customer Reviews

3 in. x 10 ft. White Vinyl Drip Edge Flashing is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as it should I installed new gutters, and was dismayed to find some water bypassing between the gutters and fascia. This product slipped right in, and solved the problem. Regarding the other review that complains about no explanation on how to mate two pieces; just use some sealant. If you feel the need to overlap the segments, then just trim the lower protrusion off (snips) so the top section will lay flat. Even with an overlap, I'd still want a bead of sealant.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from How to install The cross section of this flashing will not allow it to overlap and there are no install instructions or recommendations here or on the Amerimax web site. How do you seal the edges if they are just butted against each other? I have sent messages to Amerimax and they do not respond.
