The "antique rope" design looks a lot more pronounced in the website picture ~ in reality it's rather muted. Nevertheless, it looks much better than standard grab bars. These are a tad tough to install ~ hard to get behind the cover to access the screws. Ended up using a really really LONG screwdriver. We also thought the screws were a bit lightweight, especially since the manufacturer is so adamant about incorrect installation voiding the warranty! I probably would have paid the full price, but getting these on sale was a sweet plus.

I had a handyman install them in the shower and one by the toilet. They look very nice. I purchased the brushed stainless steel. They are very sturdy and of a hefty diameter for a great grip. I would recommend these to any handicapped person. I enjoyed shopping online and picking them up at the store from a special desk.

The escutcheon plate could have been designed to slide out of the way so that a power screwdriver could be used - it is very difficult to install. Also, the screw holes are not aligned, making pre-drilling more iffy. Looks great once it's up, but I it needs some redesign work.

I have not had the opportunity to install the grab bar
I need information on proper installation procedure in the bath into tile walls
It appears difficult with the cover plate close to the bar holder
I was told a glue was available. Have not found any

Very helpful, looks lovely (unlike the ugly old styles), matches the cabinet pull knobs also purchased at The Home Depot. Should have got one a long time ago. Will highly recommend to others in need.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Douglas Bar installed fairly easily, looks good, good price.
This bar installed easily overall, but was slightly tricky because the escutcheon plate is somewhat in the way of getting the screws in. Well worth the good looks and price.

Looks great but difficult to install due to cover plate. It is easier if you insert the screws thru the hole in the center of the cover plate rarther than trying to insert the screw from the edge of the cover plate.
