Want to use 4x6 treated to make grape arbor and would like sweet peas growing up wood.

Made a beautiful arbor for a passion vine and painted it with home depot outdoor weather paint. The vine died. Then the new shoots would not grow on the painted wood.

I need help. What should I use? 4x6 way more $$ in treated. But to buy good paint and hire to paint is round same price.

I'd rather have painted wood. What kind is good for plants? Want a soft green not white.
